  1. http://www.paramotorclub.org/auction/item.php?id=76 Suit a beginner!
  2. If it runs good then dont worry. Keep checking the plug after every flight and a full post flight check for loose nuts or crack.
  3. It's not called TTS anymore. Changed last year I think. It has been rebranded as Power 1 Racing (2T) Gold bottle, red top and available in my local Halfords.
  4. Hi, I've been learning a powered take off technique over the last year. I taught it to my mate Simon who you can see using it in this video. [youtubevideo] [/youtubevideo]I create an airflow over the wing for 15 seconds which sucks more air around and over the wing, you have to do it right over the middle. Then I come off the power and step forward. The airflow helps the wing up much quicker than in a normal launch, then you run with full power. If you don't put the air flow over the middle, the wind will not come up straight. In the video you can hear me grumbling because Simon left a few seconds gap between coming off the power and stepping forwards. Still worked though. Best of luck. Stu
  5. Just spotted this on Twitter. http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/503/CAA%20Pro ... elease.pdf Last page shows a fine issued to a PPG pilot low flying over a beach. Bloody unlucky for someone to report him. I'll be considering this a bit more carefully as I fly down a beach waving to people. Stu
  6. Carl, I think the MP003 just has a normal headphone pin on the end - mine just plugs into the end of the phone (where the headphones go) so will suit any phone / MP3 player really. It doesn't work to make calls though (iPhone). The Microavionics guys are very helpful - just give them a call and they will talk you through everything. Stu Hi stu. Can I pick your brains. The telephone lead Mp003 links up to what phone ? Surely this will play iTunes through the phone Mp003 lead ? Or not ? Cheers.
  7. I use the microavionics headset. It is the business for listening to music on your phone / ipod. I had a bluetooth adapter so I could make phone calls too but realised I didn't relly need to do that much and itwas another thing to charge. I use a radio and it works fine, for a conversation it is best to come off the throttle I fine as it is quieter and less interference. \ Dont mess with the cheap ones, just get the best - I wish I had done it first.
  8. Craigs, don't be tempted to buy anything until you have had some training and got some advice from an instructor.
  9. Im so jealous! Hows the vibration (or lack of?) I want one!
  10. It's a new carb about 2 months ago. I have no idea how to check / adjust the pop off pressure. Just assumed it was fine seeing as it hasn't changed since i got it.
  11. Hey Thus, the engine had a strip down last year where the bearings were checked and seals replaced. All gaskets too. Just cleaned it all up and the cylinder has a slight scuffing, hope I can get away with that one! Carb is all clean, fuel lines okay, reed valve seems fine. Could it be Pre ignition?
  12. Hi Thys, it is a Parajet Volution 1 (180cc) with 200+ hours. Thanks for the ideas.
  13. Hi Pete, Ive been having problems sealing the head gasket. There was an oil leak out two sides, but not serious amounts. I replace the o ring pretty often as it keeps leaking and destroying the seal. I have ordered a new head in case mine is warped. Is it possible to use a gasket sealant as well?
  14. Bad times. I was running at a nice pale coffee colour on the plug and on Friday night the engine sometimes would cut to tick over and struggle to get up the revs again. Looking back, I should have landed and probably could have saved myself some coin. So, just in case I'm missing anything, other than too lean, what else should I consider? Check the carb for dirt? ps it is a Parajet Volution 1 Thanks
  15. Thanks for the tips Guys. I did get it looked at last year with the aim of balancing. The engineers said it looked out of balance by their calculations but needed a "ratio" to confirm. Parajet couldn't give me the ratio they needed so they just straightened it a fraction and re-built it. I / they were worried that because it was out so much, that without the ratio, the couldn't be sure it wasn't designed like that. They reckoned 99% of cases work by the same ratio though. I'll perhaps speak to PM Tuning to get a quote for balancing. It was £270 for the stripdown and straightening from the last place - a bit steep! Stu
  16. Hi Stevie, yes and they have nothing lying about. I was prepared to spend £279 on a new one (assumed the Volution 1 crankshaft was the same price as the V1) but now they are specially ordering them, the cost is more than double.
  17. Hi All, I'd like to get my hands on a crankshaft for a Volution 1 to see if it improves my vibration issue which is becoming uncomfortable after an hour or so. Everything else is okay, for example, prop balanced, driven pulley seems good, no movement in the crank shaft. This part is now discontinued and therefore considerably more expensive than the Volution 2 crankshaft. Just wondering if anyone had one lying about I could buy. Would consider a whole engine if it was a reasonable price. Thanks Stu
  18. Nice documentary Simon. Having now purchased FCP X I am jealous of the editing and hope to up my game for future productions! Hope the Guy's are still flying! How did you do the pulse / strobe effect then?
  19. I was surprised too. The guy I bought it from said it was because it is a Euro 4 engine but I wonder if it is because it is classed as a camper now.
  20. My T5 is 2.5L and has done 38 mpg most motorway miles so should be more than 40 taking it steady. Simon, it is silver, sorry. tax is 135 insurance 288 with no bonus as yet.
  21. Interested to hear others views as I'm about to buy an Thule Easy base for the same reason, and for bikes, bags etc. All on the back of my new (to me) T5 camper! wooha!
  22. Hey Bilbo, I have a Dudek Synthesis and have no worries at all. I park my brakes and let them both out at the same time. They just slide out themselves. To pull in, I just pull them and make sure they are even when I stop. It really is that easy. As for landing on fast trim, I've asked about and even though you are going faster, you can use that energy to bleed off to a decent landing if you have to. I've never tried it mind! But if I didn't have time to pull them in, I would use my time to choose and line up properly for a safe landing than trying to mess with trimmers.
