  1. Just an update on this issue. I've replaced the reeds in the reed valve and hey presto the choke slide is clean and no oil splats. There didn't seem anything wrong with the old one but perhaps it was losing its strength. ps I've only done a 20 minute flight but it has never been clean after a flight before. That is all. Thanks for all the comments and help.
  2. Can I just say what a cracking header picture on that page. Oh yeah, I took that one of my mate Alan on his Cyclone!
  3. Always park your brakes before letting go. Easy. I think it happened on the Tip to Tip DVD - so it can happen. Perhaps more so in turbulence where the cage could be moving about and the wing unweighting allowig the brakes more slack. I would go for the beer though! Just park em, easy.
  4. Being sponsored by Parajet, you would think they would insist on the net.
  5. Hi Richard, I know the wing has recently been serviced and given the okay by the Loft / Aerofix.
  6. Hi All, I was flying last night with a friend who struggled to get off. We took some vid and you can see it here. http://youtu.be/sBopnyrSQFk As you can see he suffers from a frontal as the wing is coming up. This ended badly as he caught a few lines in the prop. Some info - high hangpoint, Dudek Reaction, trims on 0, speedbar attached. The only thing we can think of is the speedbar lines are too short, but he has changed nothing. He is going to check this later. Just thought I'd ask on his behalf. Thanks Stuart
  7. Seems he prefers to fly without the net though.
  8. I'm also slim at 100kg and have a 34 Synth. Still the fastest wing amongst friends. Does feel docile though and I would like to trade up to something more nimble when I get more experience under the belt. 20 hours so far and never an issue.
  9. Thanks Tom, I've ordered them. Cheaper than buying the whole block.
  10. Do Parajet still have the old one do you think? Have you seen this issue before?
  11. Considering changing the reed valve as the dirty oil surely is coming back up from the engine? I was on tick over a lot last night, I assume that is when it happens.
  12. Enzo, sure, if you can clarify the situation. Can you DM me your number?
  13. Thanks Enzo. Not really sure what to expect, but a solution would be fine!
  14. Any ideas folks? I have always had black oil splatting out the gaps where the slide choke is on my Volution 1. It makes a bit of a mess. My mate who also has a Parajet gets none of this! It seems pretty dirty stuff considering clean fuel goes in the carb. Any ideas? Thanks
  15. I phoned Parajet for mine. Cost about £6 / m i think
  16. How odd, that works for me too! Not Virgin. 2 kids.
  17. I get the same error message if that is any use.
  18. Whitters, I guess their decent rate was faster as there were two pilots and kit tangled beneath one functioning reserve. Stu
  19. Whitters, the decent rate was 2000ft/min. Which is not bad considering they are both under one reserve. So glad they are both okay. I'll never forget that day.
  20. i love it! I sometimes wonder if anyone can hear me.
  21. You have to take advice from your instructor. Once you have chosen Brand and model, then you look at size. Most wings seem to measure size by metres squared of nylon ie 25,27,29,31 or 34 Each size will have an ideal weight range. You may fall into the safe category for two sizes, then you decide if you want a smaller faster wing that will need a bit more power and use more fuel or a larger wing that may be a tiny bit slower but offer more fuel economy. Hope this helps.
  22. I've only been flying PPG for a year but I have a few videos on youtube. Search for stuartasutherland
