  1. It's best practice to always ask, but I believe there is a take off area heading out the glen Nevis road past the campsite. I've not flown up there yet, but it's on the list! Sent from my iPad using PMC Forum mobile app
  2. 1) surface to Flight level 105 (10500ft at standard pressure) in this class D airspace. 2) 3000 FT to Flight level 105 (10500ft) - so you can fly up to 3000ft The R is a restricted area and I'm now off to brush up on the code following it. Sent from my iPad using PMC Forum mobile app
  3. Wing has been on the market since 2012 and they have not sorted out the final edit yet? Sent from my iPad using PMC Forum mobile app
  4. I have the GTX Manual in English. I messaged Pascal and he sent it to me so if anyone wants it, please email me (stuart at suth.net) and I'll send it back to you. Sent from my iPad using PMC Forum mobile app
  5. Getting repetitive now I know, but has anyone taken the challenge of translating the GTX manual from French yet seeing as Paramania can't be arsed doing it. Crazy considering the placard on the wing says read manual before flight. Sent from my iPad using PMC Forum mobile app
  6. http://www.doarama.com/view/8050 I use Doarama too. Yesterday, I did a GPS trail of me cutting the grass. CRAZY STUFF!
  7. I have a Fenix 2 which I sometimes use when Im having a quick flight. I usually use a Garmin 62S. The watch is good as it measures GPS or barometric altimeter, vertical speed and anything else you need, but only 4 fields display at a time. The D2 looks over complicated for PPG, with airport codes etc (who flys into an airport?) Anyway, I use my Fenix for kayaking, cycling and occasionally PPG.
  8. I'm probably 140kg all up and considering the 26 GTX for better economy and easier take off and landing. It will still be fn enough for me, coming from a Fusion 29. Sent from my iPad using PMC Forum mobile app
  9. http://youtu.be/9pEaxhI_o3Q Awesome weekend with 9 other pilots in Braemar, Scotland last November. Much of the footage taken with a mates quad copter. Sent from my iPad using PMC Forum mobile app
  10. I agree with Stevie, I have 4 regular farms I take off from and a further 5 I have access to when ever I want. I always take aerial photos for them and drop in a bottle at Christmas as a thank you. Actually, I've never been refused when Ive asked. I have a few rules though: take off and piss off, don't cause noise and hassle locally to the flying site. Same goes for landing, then they hardly notice you so no problems!
  11. Hey Simon, why does "View active topics" not work anymore, that's usually how I see whats going on.
  12. Personally I wouldn't even consider it without a boat as a back up. Along with that I would have a flotation device and drysuit too!
  13. I have a Thor 200 and always start and warm up without a prop. It has a clutch so doesn't matter and if there is no prop on, I can't chop my hand off! Sent from my iPad using PMC Forum mobile app
  14. I head nothing but excellent service from Micro Avionics too, just in case anyone still had doubts about buying the best! Sent from my iPad using PMC Forum mobile app
  15. Hi, I think it does have electric start as it has lots of cables that I've taped up. Sent from my iPad using PMC Forum mobile app
  16. I switched off ProTune for much better "off the camera" results. Try it.
  17. I agreed 100% that Dell is a despicable human being. But getting real here, how does a petition change a genuine and legal commercial agreement between two companies? I can understand if we were trying to get the FAA to take more notice but not Helix or Vitorazzi. If he can get away with a student being killed when he is illegally operating on a beach whilst actively telling student they don't need a helmet. If he can fly along kicking and owl. If he can shoot a handgun whilst flying along some coast line. How the hell are a few signatures going to help? Just sayin. Sent from my iPad using PMC Forum mobile app
  18. I have one and it is brilliant. My main problem is my finger getting cold as it doesn't move much. I can wear thick gloves with it because of the adjustments but just the inactivity causes the cold. I need to man up really! Sent from my iPhone using PMC Forum mobile app
  19. I assume it is flying related? There is a chap in Fraserburgh called Gordon Robertson. He is a top bloke, PM me or text me for his number. Stuart
  20. Hi Pete, the joys of the Polini! I live just up the road near Perth and have the 200. I chose the Walbro carb to stop leaks in the car and minimise the risk of carb icing. I've finally got it running well with some overheating issues in the start. I've been getting about 3.75-4 litres an hour and between 180 to 250 degrees CHT. 21. You put a Parajet up for sale and then we have to guess what the model is? Good luck.
  22. Hi Fergus, I live near Perth an have a field near Bridge if Earn or Luncarty. Looks fly able Wed night. Give me a shout on 07887 755 five seven six Stuart Sent from my iPad using PMC Forum mobile app
  23. Yip, I always park the brakes when not using. You can let them out at the same time or separately as far as I'm concerned. If doing separately, be aware of what is around you as you will turn to one side until you even them out. Same when pulling them back in.
  24. Looks nice, but not practical for PPG because the top of the carabiner is not level. The loop on the risers would have more pressure on one side which, although probably still perfectly safe, will wear one side much faster. In my opinion of course.
  25. I have a SWB and I think the motor would be tight, but I could break it down to fit I guess. Sent from my iPad using PMC Forum mobile app
