  1. Sorry can't help with any schools but was amazed to read you have all of your own equipment.
  2. Depending on the oil you are using you can reduce the ratio quite a bit. Motul 800 only needs 1.5% instead of 2% mix.
  3. I have the same thing, it's because it's the float bowl carb. I always blip the throttle a touch when bending down to pick up the risers.

    Ecodomes

Sadly, if someone tried that round here, a man with a clipboard and an adenoidal voice would quickly appear quoting building and planning regulations.
  5. It's probably beefed them up a bit.
  6. Yes, throttle was constant. The motor is surprisingly torque-free. Cheers.
  7. Thanks for the thoughts. It is a weight shift paramotor - I expected to look at the video and see the wing moving about but it doesn't seem to do anything much relative to the twisting. I have to assume it was the air, it was just surprising.
  8. I'd appreciate any feedback as I'm not sure of the cause of this. Last night I took off but within a few feet the motor twisted to the left, then to the right, then to the left ... I can't work out what caused it but I do have a video of the take off here: [vimeo] [/vimeo]It looks subtle in the video but it was quite substantial. The wind on the ground was about 5mph but at 100 feet was howling (surprisingly). The lines were all okay, nothing was twisted or caught. Everything flew perfectly two days ago. Any thoughts greatly appreciated.
  9. I start it on my back too, it's just that my hand is at waist level before it fires. I'll have a look into this, cheers.
  10. Mine was ready fitted. I was under the impression that there had to be a longer pull for the Flash mechanism to work.
  11. I just got the Thor 100 (did um and ah a bit about the 100 or 200). The Flash starter does need arms about six feet long but you're right, fires up first time with no choke. You can cut the end half of the throttle lever off to make it less cumbersome (I'm told this is a common practice). I much prefer it to the Volution throttle as it's a lot less bulky.

    A Gorgeous Evening.

    Says it all, nice one.

    A Gorgeous Evening.

Quality wins over quantity this time.
  14. I have just come back from flying in the most superb air I can remember, it was gusting to 12mph five minutes before launch but then it dropped to virtually nothing. Flying was like having a massage. Any turbulence off the peaks was like having a maiden gently waft me with a silk sheet. It was gorgeous. Sod's Law, I only had a bit of fuel in the tank as I didn't expect to be up for long.
  15. What machine was it? I had something similar once when I (stupidly) put my riser offsets on the wrong way round on a new Parajet and as soon as I took off I flew in tight right handed circles - quite unpleasant. If that is happening, don't fight it with left brake, just get some height then cut the engine and land.
  16. $4.99? It's £8.32 plus postage (unless you just want the one )
  17. Used them for the first time yesterday, just for the landing flare. They seem excellent and the guy who sells them keeps in contact and sends them quickly.
  18. I imagine that would be a popular retrofit.
  19. Luverly. Lucky man, the weather here is still appalling.
  20. Thanks Morgy, don't know how I missed that.
  21. I am about to buy a pair of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Easy-Handles- ... 714wt_1398 Just wondered if anyone has used them on a wing that doesn't have this option already. They look like a good alternative to taking a wrap for landing, the only down side being they shorten the brake lines by 2cm (although easily fixed). Good price too. Steve.
  22. Don't forget about the Cheapo Tach, they are good value. Mine's been flying since last year. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI. ... 888wt_1165
