  1. I ve got a Revo 2 23 that is over 500 hrs... Its been in the sea umpteen times , and i ve had to stick it in the bath a few times after flying from Morecambe beach / mud ! So long as you dont put detergent anywhere near it , and let it air dry , preferably on a nice day spread out on a lawn/field , it wont suffer at all . Flying and handling are not affected.
  2. Nope... We had a Festival down here with 25 000 people . Displays with Hawks , a Typhoon , and Seakings.... Notams ? .. Not a sausage ??
  3. Over the past 3 days , the sky has been filled with the Red Arrows , im assuming that at present they re based at Valley . Had a 30 mile flight today , with eyes peeled for fast Red Hawks ! Flew fairly low , mainly over the beaches.... Could see the Hawks in the distance on return , so kept low , landed , and sat in the field and watched the display....Marvellous !
  4. Well the fast jets , and Hercs , and Helicopters , have all seen me ( so far ! ).... I try to stay away from known flightpaths through the week . I ve been in the same airspace as F-15 s , Toccano s, Hawks( 3 flew under me in formation ) , Hercules , and Typhoons . Where i live , anything can appear at anytime , so i tend to fly low near the beaches and sea , or close to the mountains . Weekends are generally quiet , just the odd private plane or helicopter......
  5. I aggree with Outcast....I think we re getting a bit "P.C" about oils....Like he says , years ago when we were thrashing up and down the streets on singles , twins and triples , no one had a clue what type of oil we used . I even remember the little oil pump that was kept by the petrol pumps.....You filled up and the attendant squirted the required amount into the tank....EEEE , Them Wert Days ! P.S....Local plant hire shop , Makita Semi Synthetic 1ltr , just over £4.00 . If its good enough for a chain saw doing a Zillion Revs.......
  6. Oh....And its not a Dusty Old Banger !!
  7. Parajet Titanium Compact . I ve had this machine for 4 yrs and its got 160 hrs on it . Its been tucked away in a cupboard for 2 yrs since i broke my arm ...My fault , taking off in dodgy cross winds . I ve recently repaired the cage and put a brand new piston / rings in . Fires up and runs lovely . Took it for an hours flight , and having repaired the props , they could do with balancing . Apart from that , it flies fine . You ve caught me on the hop here , as i had no intention of selling , so will take some pics tomorrow and put it on the Auction . Im asking £ 800 for it . Some spares too...Exhaust and silencer . Its a good machine for someone , and a shame to leave it in storage.... Thanks , Steve Just realised...Sounds like an advert , but its not an advert ?...But it will be tomorrow ??
  8. Well Boys & Girls...Took the plunge and became a fully paid member.... Im usually not one to join any clubs , but fair do"s , ive definitely had more than £30 worth of advice and entertainment over the last 3 and a bit yrs . Generally , anything we need to know about is only a click away , and though i dont always agree with advice given , theres a lot of common sense out there Got my hrs racking up now , had lots of mishaps and cock ups , been through a few machines , and have learned the hard way . I ve got the T shirt ( a few actually!)...And the broken bones to prove...The main thing is, we all love to fly . So dont Backbite and Nitpick.... ENJOY!
  9. To look at your fuel , just lean out to one side and look down... Or if you cant , take a quick photo.....
  10. As regards to the "engine falling out".... The alloy rod that attaches to the barrel was held on with a bolt that screwed in a total of 6mm , into soft alloy , and it did nt unscrew , it stripped the threads in flight , possibly with vibration , more than likely it was nt up to the job . The way the engine mount is fitted , its impossible to check the tightness of the bolt , because the frame is in the way . The only way is to give it a visual and a jiggle . Polini have been informed ( apparently ) , because it was a standard fitment . I took said alloy rod to my local engineering shop to be drilled to a 30mm depth , with Loctite on .
  11. Hi Gordon...Your flashers look ideal , let me know what you want for them...Text me on 0777 88 99 595 , Thanks , Steve . If anyone else has any other ideas , im still open to offers...
  12. Hi Guys & Girls... New machine arriving shortly... Need to fit 1 or 2 strobes as i fly with the RAF ever present. I previously fitted an Avionics Strobe ... could nt fault the brightness , but the one screw fitting was rubbish . If you tighten too much , which you need to , it cracks the casing...then it gets messy when the Gripfill comes out ! The light is a good product , just too heavy and cumbersome for one screw to hold . Anyway , has anyone tried LED lights ? Im getting a Polini Thor with no battery . I dont want them for show , they ve got to be good . Macey told me some were fitted to his mates machine , but dont know the make ? I fitted the Avionics to the top of the cage , so that it could be seen 360degrees , but sometimes it got caught in the lines . Would really like something smaller , more compact . Any ideas? Cheers
  13. When i was learning to Paraglide , a couple of lads unclipped at around 500ft and preceeded to stand up in the seat , hold on to the risers and do headstands....Could hear them laughing !.... Circa 1998 North Wales... Whatever floats your boat.....
