  1. Slim, a quick question! I have a jing tong 208 and a set of those speedair helmets with headsets. Now I dont really have the cash to go and buy the top of the range radio and headset etc would it be ok just to get a set of say 'goldstar' headsets and keep the jingtong? do you or have you used the jingtong and would you rate it to warrant me keeping it, if so can you upgrade the standard aerial if need be? cheers mate Gaz

    Vario? altimeter

I have an alti/vario, flytec 6005. I'd always recommend one. They are great for seeing your height and also the rise and fall average whilst flying! normally shown in m/s. I use the garmin emap gps which is a fairly oldish model but works great and has a big screen
  7. Yeah I found that last year when I was starting out,a very handy site it is! nice to compare the weights, power etc of most common motors used.
  8. outkast, have you started flying yet mate?
  9. 2 stroke any day, loads more power, you dont have to run a football pitch to get up,lighter and alot lighter at that,my rossy does on average 3lts/hr with 65kgs of thrust. outcast you say reliability? I know of quite alot of non 4strokers that have blown up or had trouble with. Its true what people say about you get use to a particular model/brand etc but I'd stick with my trusty PAP ROS anyday, good luck choosing just dont rush into buying the first thing you see!
  10. Hello Joe,I sometimes fly over that way,my friend/instructor taught me from there and lives there. I know he has just got another student up recently so you may see them two together quite often, when we go over that way theres normally about 4 of us flying about especially to the sturges pub and back! mates field is about 10 miles from there, may see you sometime Gaz
  11. Watcha Ben,Im in hitchin so if you wanna meet up etc feel free,I occasionly fly from royston heath if the wind is in the right direction! failing that its normally geoff sodens place up at alconbury,my intructors home town over at banbury or ive a mate who flies over at ware, drop me a pm or text/call 07920 198505 cheers Gaz
  12. I tried the hang test on my pap and it wasnt at all acurate,it seems far easier for some reason to fly on level flight and go according to the pap manual,im 74kg's and on the 2nd hole from the back of arm, this seems to be fine for me and going by the manual recommendations is perfect. Give it a go,see what you think all the best Gaz
  13. welcome along mate,Hope the training is going well? I should be coming along to ware to fly soon been speaking to Andy, all being well one eve next wk
  14. Hello all, I tried the speed bar on my reaction last night for the first time, Is it me or are they really hard to engage and extend out? I got to about 3/4's totally out with my legs but it felt at the initial push I was laying on a sunbed, the more i tried to extend it was just pushing me backwards! I give up in the end and just kept the trimmers off. Anyone could point me in the right direction i'd be more than grateful cheers Gaz
  15. Hi mate, ive added a few posts a while back regarding the rossi, all I can say of my own opinion is they are absolutley fantastic and would happily stick with paps, they are light, very well made, have loads of power and very economical compared to others. My instructor has a clemente simmonini and has got it up for sale,he says its far too heavy for him and dose'nt need all that power which is where I think the paps come into play whereas power and lightness is concerned, hes getting one next. All I can say is good luck on whatever motor you go for and hope it brings many hours of enjoyment as mine does
  16. I had a nightmare with this company too, I had bought one of those speedair helmets with headset, after receiving it to find out that the two headsets had been wired up wrong I eventually got them to send another set out which they did and got a friend to rewire them and now have 3 that work! They sent the wrong adapters for radio aswell which I now have the correct ones after relentless emails,no more buying from this lots, also I did hear that they had gone bust because of the helmets were a copy of another brand name, nac 2000 rings a bell Gaz
  17. hat you upgrading to mate? I have that motor and absolutley love it,good luck with sale gaz

  20. Hello mate, that was me and two friends that flew over your house last weekend!! we flew to the sturges pub for a beer then back to the field, was a great day. There was four of us that went to the pub but one of the guys couldnt start his motor(battery dead) so he got a lift home! If your ever about over there come and meet up with us,just email or pm me,cheers mate Gaz

  23. Hello all, Im just seeing if anyone is interested in buying a friends heli, I know we all love our toys! Basically its brand new,he has had about 4 flights with it and when I say flights I mean just being able to hover it,hes too scared to fly it and its a shame just to keep it in the garage not being used. I know he has added some decent bits to it and has a good tx too. Hes looking at about £550, I can get more details or pass on his number if anyone interested, thanks Gaz (I want some decent weather to have a fly!)
