  1. I can be seen sometimes over Royston way, we used to use a field in Arrington but not so much as the owner put a massive barn in the field!! Occasionally we'd take off from the heath itself and I still think someone does? My friend lives nx to Tesco whome I fly with(Leigh)I have another friend that flys from other side of basingbourne.I tend to fly from Biggleswade, in the process of teaching a mate grd handling, he's almost ready to get airborne.. between us we could have a local group happening
  2. Found a great guy called James, sent my headset to him and was back within a few days and very cheap too..top guy, works a treat....can forward on full details if required. He does all sorts of mods plus also repairs props that are in a bad way, that bit is off topic but just in case
  3. Good reply Badger...food for thought for sure! Like you said, do some training and see where it takes me. I do love the paramotoring and foot dragging fields(no sand nr me!!) Low flying is a blast! We'll see where this summer takes me but the idea of travelling/flying faster etc is still up on the cards for me!
  4. Don't think you can go wrong with a nice pap ros 125 and a sweet Dudek ReAction
  5. Yeah is more expensive but cheap in the way of two up flying at 60-70mph to the coast! who's know I'll start my training and see where it takes me! Quite handy that the ctr is 2mins from my home and hangars are cheap.
  6. Couldn't agree more Gordon! Although I've been flying 7yrs and the weather still frustrates me, especially when trying to plan a flying session around work and family commitments which as most will know is a mare! I do fancy the chance of being able to fly two up and make some ground in a day, microlighting does have a much bigger flying window, whether the ground is soaking wet or even blowing a fair amount as I found out last week, I often hear them taking off where I live to know I'm already blown/rained out for paramotoring! If I could afford to have all my flying gear sat in storage I'll keep it BUT it's a fair amount of money sitting there whilst I'm out flying to the coast, two up!
  7. Starting microlight lessons v.Soon, it's a tough one to make but had a trial flight last week and I've got the bug! Love the paramotoring but mostly always seems like parawaiting! Inbox if you have an interest and I'll explain there what I have.
  8. Good to hear people getting back into it! I fly from a field in Biggleswade/Royston mainly...although I maybe selling up soon due to moving over to the dark side start microlight lessons within a weeks time!
  9. Evening peeps, hope some or most of you are getting some flying time in now the weather is semi changing!! I might be after a new wing this year. Had the ReAction since I started flying(7yrs ago).. wicked wing even by todays standards, now looking at the New Nucleon WRC.. who can give some feedback of this wing for me! Ta
  10. Alan_k we (I) need your help!! Could you spare your expertise here
  11. Thanks for your replies! I've given it to a mate who like his electronic malarky! He's asked me to find out what radio uses the same output plug as the baofeng uv5r+ eg yaesu,Midland,Kenwood etc etc my headset supplied in box has two pins and two bands around each pin..looking on the web it looks the same as the Kenwoods?! If that's the case then I need to find an adapter to suit a peltor headset..can't for the life of me remember where I got my jing tong adapter!!
  12. I know a few of you on here are radio guru's so I'm asking for a little help! I've a goldstar headset which I've had for some years and works well,I use a cheapy jing tong which has also proven to be a good little 2 meter! I'm at the stage to get another radio and the two choices are a yaesu 270 or a baofeng uv-5rc which my friend has just brought and is really good at tx and rx..my jing tong adaptor fits the baofeng perfectly but doesn't do anything..this is where I need you handy peeps!! Could someone paste a link here as to what adaptor id need to buy for the yaesu or baofeng...haven't decided which one yet!! Thanks in advance

  15. Bignos...I have a mate that is a sign writer and has done many peoples wings(some well known pilots) if you want I can pm you the details to avoid advertising on here
  16. Cheers for that info gaz, yeah its really off putting trying to fly using speed bar and i've done the same...fly without bar on! will look into the other alternatives, watch this space
  17. Has anyone done the mod on these harness's to allow for the easier speed bar application where you sew the pulleys on just at the point where the hip movement starts on the sides, as opposed to where they are standard(at the front) I find this hard to engage on my ros that uses the weight shift bars! I fly the reaction and am looking at re-positioning the pulleys
  18. Rich, Your place of work isn't far from me at all! yeah be good to arrange a meet somewhere especially as Andy d and woody are in westmill area. you may spot me flying around biggleswade once this wind dies down! Till then i'm power kiting on the blade!
  19. After a long 1.5 year without flying I've got another Ros 125! still kept my flying gear(luckily) so great to be back up there looking down and I've still kept the motorbike(one of reasons why I sold up before!) Hope to meet locals soon
