  4. Well im 26yrs old and wanted to do this since i was 21. It struck me when i went to a well known paramotorist blokes house through a family friend and saw these 5 or so people get this motor type thing on there back along with a wing behind them and takeoff!! I couldnt beleive it and thats what grabbed me by the ***** to want to do it,i sold my motorbike this year and got a cheeper car and thought sod it,im starting paramotoring and havent regretted it one bit. I LOVE IT!!
  5. If you subscribe do you get the previous ones then the following 3 or just get the latest one and so on?
  6. Well after the hassle ive had trying to get my headset to work now it does! A friend on another forum offered to have a look over the wkend which i was very grateful for,he has it working fine and revealed that all 3 headset mics are wired up wrong from factory standard! he has done 1 headset for me to try out when im flying,it worked fine outside his house. The test will tell, hopefully no need to buy new gear after all! gaz
  7. Do most people use this method when taking off? I understand it can shorten your take off run but for me by the time the wing is up and sat nicely raring to go!! im normally up before i know it without the need of a dab to the brakes, just thought i'd see what you others prefer to do on take off? gaz
  8. Well done that man! Thats what i like to read regarding my reaction and landing! I seem to be getting on alright but my few early sessions i seem to come in to fast and skid(luckily on feet, not cage) I think what i was doing is coming in to land, i start to apply the brakes slightly or too much and end up running out of travel Im getting better the more im out there doing it! cheers

  10. Your joking? what radio do you use,i use as i said above a jingtong with the lead they sent me,i did try another one from maplins after i received the wrong one in the first place and that didnt pick up either, there is one more lead to try but was out of stock,if i can get it working then i'll perhaps stick with it but the last 3 times ive been out and not been able to properly use my own gets abit annoying!

I like the sound of that alinco. I have a cheap jingtong(i laughed aswel!) but it works really well.I will definitley consider that alinco towards the end of the mth FOR SALE...1 exellent helmet with THREE headsets!!,work in perfect order! One careful owner!(see thread about helmet, radio etc!!!)
  12. DOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH,I have one too and having the same bleeding problem, been on to the company and they are now sending me one out already tested apparently! Ive been looking at others already(gutted) i just went on there and bought it!! didnt read your reccomendation at the time!I waited ages for the correct lead to arrive then when it did i tried it only to find that i can hear people quite faintly but as soon as they stop talking i get a horrible clanking noise that blows my ear drums apart! Better luck next time (the helmet fits fine just the headset is crap,i also have 3 of them(they sent an extra one by mistake!) and thought atleast one of them should work...IF ONLY gaz

  20. oh the trims will be out next time!! I went out today and keep making the same mistake on landing.my instructor has told me many times to be more aggressive with the brakes just before touch down. My trouble is i bleed the speed off and pull them down too slowly before landing resulting in a faster landing(normally skiding on my feet!) I also pulled the trims right in earlier instead of the recommended line thats marked on them for take off,it lifted off much quicker and felt alot more floaty as it whould do anyway but i wanted to see if it makes much of a difference,do you guys use the take off/landing marks on the trimmers(no wind)? gaz
  21. look forward to it,my instructor told me to let them out last week but i was too involved with the views and what not + my friend who came up with us has a much slower wing even when im on slow so we were just circling to let him catch up! will try this sunday
  22. So the big day, letting the trimmers out for the first time! What does it feel like?
  23. I think im gonna try them out again this sunday, after a long search for finding a nearby field i may have well of stumbled across one! a friend of a friend owns some big fields and was explaining to him earlier what i do and what im desperatley in need of! He has a 1000 acre flat grass field 5 mins from my house!!! so hopefully its gonna be a yes to use it! hope everyone gets a fly this wkend, gaz
