  1. Michael Schumacher might not agree. The testing standards do not test to levels that might kill anyway. So, camera first into a tree may have killed him anyway. However, having a camera punch a hole in his head was likely worse.
  2. Is it a sealed unit, or can you take it to bits?
  3. My wife said "it's a cricket".....not very helpful. Clicks twice per rev. Does not sound good and I would query that with HE.
  4. I did my size wing, the 28, which is 5 and 5.88 for each, hence the 15 % It was still too heavy this morning on a squishy sandy beach. I even checked I had not picked up some extra sand!
  5. lol, was thinking of popping out this evening as well
  6. After managing to get my extremely heavy Roadster into the air this morning....Estepona beach....
  7. If the weights on the Ozone site are correct then......5kg as compared to 5.88kg = exactly15 % lighter. This morning I have just been zero wind launching (and I mean zero) on a soft sandy beach.....ugh! Anyone want a Roadster 2
  8. 15% lighter than Roadster 2....no EN B rating.
  9. Flying with Dan who was showing me around Bornos this morning...
  10. Google maps location, drop pin or coords would help. Watch out for narrow ish site - I damaged myself trying to land on one after the wind switched 90 deg while I was flying.
  11. Hi, the link is the correct one. It is set up for Notams because most people already know the airspace where they are flying. You need to: unclick the Notam info to get rid of it. click the airspace tab (under the Notam info) then tick all the airspace tabs and zoom in to your area. regards, Andy
  12. I'm 6'4" and 210 lb. I use a 28m Roadster 2. Brilliant.
  13. I have been learning "active flying" on the beach. On the beach the wind is MUCH more steady than inland, thus making it easier. At the PMC fly-in in Membury I learned that I should only ever being do this into wind - another guy was watching my videos! His advice was that at some point in time there WILL be an engine failure and hence a sudden landing! Inland, with blustery wind, I find it much more difficult. Water? No. Don't want to get gear wet, especially sea water!
  14. My experience of LiPo's is that they do not go on fire when in use. I have run them on very high power applications until the voltage quits and the motor dies. The worst I have ever managed is to get a LiPo to swell up. This is quite common if they run on very high power for extended time, because they are not designed to get the heat out. It is the heat that causes the swelling. The batteries still work perfectly well, but start to look bad. I have tried getting a swollen battery to burst into flames, or do something dramatic, by shorting one out. Nothing happened! In nearly 20 years of using LiPo's I have had 2 fires. One was while charging a 3 cell pack. In the early days of these batteries advice was that they only needed balance charging every 3rd or 4th recharge. However, if charging a 3 cell pack and one cell goes faulty and that cell will only accept say 2.5 volts, then other 2 cells get driven over voltage. I nearly burnt my house down with that one. Always use balance charger and this cannot happen. Also, always use fireproof bag. My other firs was when I ripped the wings off an RC plane, leaving the fuselage to hit the ground at over 100 mph. There was a loud bang and a giant fireball, just like in a movie. Two minutes later, another fireball. The plane used two separate 3 cell batteries, so guessing the first one ruptured on impact, then the other one got burnt!
  15. I see the LiPo is not in a fire proof bag
  16. This is a standard radio control plane petrol engine, with no reductions gear, using the same size prop as an RC plane would have! The only issue would be that the DLE170 is not designed to run for long periods reliably!
  17. I bought this one. Cut in half is enough and give 24 feet. I have found that only the last 18 inch needs to be covered, so use 24 inch for good measure. So 4 feet per covering gives 6 lots for £30. https://www.amazon.co.uk/ISC-Helicopter-OG-Surface-Guard-Tape/dp/B000TR6EW2/ref=sr_1_17?ie=UTF8&qid=1506854129&sr=8-17&keywords=polyurethane+tape+4in
  18. Yes, how many times do you hear in the news of the "single punch" that killed. Someone throws a punch and the receiver, who is knocked out, falls to the floor and suffers critical head injury.
  19. I am downloading them.....but latest episode not available yet.
  20. I have to use a VPN and pretend to be in the UK. It works then.
  21. Ha ha. Yes, I was confusing the lake with the one I go to that is somewhat closer.....Barbate! Looking on google Bornos is 2 hours away.
