  1. Hallo Everyone ok , Im almost a pensioner 64 and a half , and I’m not ashamed (anymore!) lol , please can some kind pilot sell me a wing to kite, . I cannot afford the motor yet, well not anything actually!! So cheaper would be really helpful. I search eBay and Gumtree all to no avail as I get squeezed out and I’m losing the will to bid lol I want to get up there ASAP , so at this stage I’m doing what I can afford that’s kite and you tube and learn by watching other people. Next year is the year.....so unwise as it might be , and I know it’s a cliche but you only live once....etc etc Please help this old guy out and Thankyou, even if you can’t help for reading my wanted ad. Great Flights to you PS if anyone else flies in the Islands or Hebrides please make contact ? I am serious about this mad adventure that is paramotoring and would love to hang with like minded dudes lol
  2. Hi everyone, so i have a Fly100evo paramotor which i have trouble diagnosing. What i have done so far: I have changed the cylinder and piston after they got stuck running too lean ( may have been damaged before as well since i bought it used). I have also done a carb rebuild (new gaskets and membrane) since it seemed to build up alot of air in the fuel line coming to the carb. The Problems i am having: -I can fly fine for about 20 mins then it starts behaving irregular in the RPM of the motor. loosing power to the point where i cant even climb anymore. -Now recently it have also started smoking a bit. - I used to have problem with it stalling when bending forward with it on my back until i did the carb rebuild. will changing the carb and reed valve to new parts help? I'm quite handy guy but combustion engines ain't my field so if anyone got tips i would greatly appreciate, I read this below which seems to fit my problems. but being stubborn i have hard accepting the not reparable part. The pilot bends over and the engine stalls. This is NOT a repairable problem! It is caused by the puddling of fuel and oil in the crankcase. Bending over will allow the flywheel to slop the puddle (usually with a higher concentration of oil) into the combustion chamber. The engine may either smoke a lot for a moment or stall source: http://www.southwestairsports.com/ppgtechinfo/top80/hrservicenotes/performanceissues/performance_issues.htm
  3. Hello I am new to the sport and am very interested. I have been looking around at different brands and I stumbled across the Parajet Maverick EOS 150. I was wondering if this motor would suit me as I am only 135 lbs. I do plan on keeping this motor for a while as possibly doing tandem flights in the future. Originally I was looking at the Top 80 motor but the EOS 150 is cheaper on Parajet's website. I only have about 10k to get into the sport including trading costs. I was planning on getting the Mojo Per wing as it looks like a good starter wing and there are a couple training spots around me (I live in Iowa). If there is a different motor you would suggest under 5k, I would be very interested in hearing about it. One more thing, while I was looking for training, I found Flightjunkies trading with Kurt. I'm not sure if the Fresh Breeze motors are a good choice either. Please let me know if you have an opinion about this idea. Thanks for any help!
  4. I bought a used ParaJet Volution 2 Macro last year (it's a 2012 model). An injury kept me from flying much but it seems like it has never run well. I’m not able to get over 6500 RPM with it and even that seems to be inconsistent. That manual says to shoot for 7600 RPMs. I can run it up, get 6500, let it back to idle, then get 5500 when I run it up again. Here’s what I’ve tried so far. Replaced the fuel tank cap and fuel filter. Replaced the fuel line and put in fresh fuel. Rebuilt the carb with the OEM kit (Walbro 37c). Adjusted the throttle cable to ensure there was no slack or kinks. Replaced the spark plug twice. Had a friend check the compression. I don’t recall what it was but it remained the same each time which led him to believe there were no air leaks. Adjusted the high and low jets as well as throttle after each change. Checked the packing on the exhaust silencer. It's relatively clean and nothing is loose. Checked the resistance of the CDI and spark plug wire I’m at the point where I may have to replace the carb and/or replace the reed valve. I also read that loose packing in the exhaust system could cause problems. I’m getting very frustrated and don’t want to just start replacing things. We fired up my buddy’s Volution 2 and it ran right up to 8000 RPM. Since the high-end RPMs have been inconsistent (even when manually holding down the throttle lever), it's been hard to diagnose. Has anyone seen a similar problem and, if so, how was it fixed? Thanks!
  5. clearly I have never paramotered before, but I am deeply interested in the sport, I'm also interested in getting to college in the least stressful way possible. why dont I buy a car?! well according to google, paramotor cost you less in repairs if used correctly, so id rather spend a lot once than constantly fixing a lemon in essence, all im wondering is, can. I fly to college in anyway possible many thanks,
  6. Hi I'm from Canvey Island Essex. I have been interested in flying for many years and after having a gliding day I decided I will seriously pursue this hobby, I have done some research on cost etc, and ppg seems to me the cheapest form of powered flight, without the huge tests that usually go with means of flight. lets just jump in here, I fly quadcopters (built from scratch) not brought from a store. so I understand the laws that we have to abide by, and the dangers involved with lack of maintenance, common sense and complete disregard for rule and safety of others. Not to mention the danger to the sport just because someone took advantage of somewhat relaxed rules. I have a lot of questions so lets just start with some basic ones, (I have done some looking around on the internet but nothing seems to be a solid answer in this hobby. 1. what class airspace can you fly in and launch from, here on canvey its class d, is there any free maps online that shows the airspace classes that are clear to read? 2. Is it possible to fly from one location to another lets say for example Essex to Yarmouth, with a flight plan, (or do you need airspace permission, along with support team) is it possible to go around the no fly zones to get to a destination? 3 obviously I will get training before attempting to fly, so whats the cost of training to be able to join a club, and are there different levels of licenses for this hobby? 4. i will keep this as the last question and add to it as I get more answers, I'm on a budget and I know I cannot afford to buy all the equipment new. Therefor I will have to get into this hobby using used stuff, my last question is, is there a big saving by buying off of ebay, or some other used selling site, or shall I buy my used stuff from a reputable shop or trainer, and if I bought say from ebay, do I need to get it inspected by the loft before I'm allowed to fly from a club site? I hope this post will help out others wanting answers to these questions to. thanks for any replies in advance Harry
  7. Hello, I'm going to keep this to a minimum as it is better explained on the link below, but I am 14 nearly and have been obsessed with paramotors for years. I have always wanted to own my own aircraft but until I found out about paramotors, I thought it was impossible without being rich and over 18. I'm asking for help as a paramotor is a hefty price to someone of my age. I would appreciate it if you at least check out the link below as it is more in depth and gives you a better idea: gofundme.com/buying-a-paramotor
