  1. No problems. As mentioned before it is a club and you need to follow some simple rules. £5 per day, sign some paper work, read some rules and you can fly all day. Not sure what level you're at, but could be flyable all day looking at the forecast. I'm available from 1000 hrs tomorrow, give me a call when you plan to be there, because I am only 10 minute drive to the airfield. 07753857800 Tony
  2. Yes, I guess you're right. The only problem is I've never looked at heated jackets before (I think). Still looks nice AEG Heated Jackets Tony
  3. This advert keeps popping up on the side and just wondered if any body has brought one and was it any good?? Just wondering, because of course if never gets that cold in Cornwall Tony
  4. How things turn out. Ian has stopped flying ML's and now flys PPG's and Trikes. If you want I'll contact him and maybe you might want to meet up. Let me know and I'll contact him? * * Just remembered that there are two Ians, Ian Stokes or Ian Callaghan Makes a big different I'm afraid, because Ian Strokes was murder in Africa
  5. Dave Moorland flying club is still there, just changed it's name to Davidstow Flying Club. Maybe a few guys are still there - like Bill or Ian etc. Maybe see you over soon then Tony
  6. This will still be an illegal flight, because with the monkey (old or new) it woud be a tandem flight!
  7. Hope the weather Gods play ball for you then. At the moment all we are getting is wind and rain.......
  8. Just seen this on YouTube. Looks like it has just started, but might involve into something useful for most flyers. www.groundhandlingchallenge.com
  9. David, you are welcome any time. Just need to give me dates and I'll let you know. I have mentioned it many times, on here and in person. Any guys are welcome to fly from Davidstow airfield, located in North Cornwall. It is on the doorstep of the Bodmin moors and about 6 minutes flying time to the lovely North rugged coastline. It is a Microlight club, so some rules are in place, like non-fly zones, £5 a day (insurance) and a member needs to be on location. I’m still not flying at the moment, but happy to have a day out or get another member out there with you. Footnote: Hope to be flying early next year
  10. I daisy chain my lines, but have a gap of 12-15 inches between the knot. What is the point in doing 30 knots if only 3-4 knots holds the lines in place and of course do not get tangled up.
  11. Look on the positive side - your motor starts well.
  12. It will be a great way if you don't get hurt or spend too much on fixing your kit. It's the wrong way if you break your back and the insurance company doesn't pay up..... You are asking the question, but I think you have made up your own mind already!! Tony
  13. That just sounds like a perfect meeting. Over 55's Old Farts Fly-in. What a laugh and some many stories told afterwards. BUT not talking para-crap, but para-med. All about illness and medical complaints or appointments. Should change my name to OldSquaddie - So bloody true
  14. Just checked what this word means Nice wording Steve - 'extreme physical suffering: he crashed to the ground in agony'
  15. Not an problem their, just need to watch my gramer when you came down.
  16. Sorry Steve, but some of us did't have the privilege of going to university and had to work for a living.
  17. Good day guys I guess after a good old fly-in (well it looked like it ) I am hoping someone might be able to bring out a few tips! Well, I am up and walking around a bit now so I thought I would need to put my motor to bed for about 5 months or so and I know this has been brought up many times in my life, but nice to go through it again. On my old motor I disconnected the fuel lead and blown/squeezed as much fuel out as possible. Poured about 5ml of oil down the cylinder head hole (or what ever you call it). Pulled the starter a few times and then gave it a good old clean. Any major points I should do would be helpful? Many thanks Tony
  18. Awesome - feels like you want to be there too. Like the sea shots too. Let's hope I'm up and running ready for the next one
  19. Is that the reserve for Kalle Bergquist's motor?
  20. Must be a radio controled pilot too . . . . Well controlled though
  21. Just happen to have one of thoughs babies and a V3 frame
  22. Simon Is the trike coming with a new motor or are you planning to use a school one, if so which one?? Tony
