  1. Hi Brian Mostly from the beaches but you need to clear it with the beach warden first as there has been varying responses from them to people just turning up and flying, some have been fine and others have been a little less enthusiastic to say the least. There is a farmer local to where you are staying that used to fly paramotors, I have never met him and am still trying to find out who he is, but if you ask around you may get be able to find him, if you do pass his details on PLEASE!! Let me know if you fancy joining me later Adam
  2. Hi Brian I am looking to get out later today, possibly from one of the beaches near you, Burnham, or Uphill, both only a couple of mins from your campsite, give me a call if you want to join me. Adam 07802 265564
  3. Hi bingreed A friend of mine has just decided to see off all his kit, PAP 1400 Ross 125 and a ITV Dakota 28 wing, not too sure what he wanting for it but am happy to pass you his details if you like. PM me your details if you are interested. Badger

  6. And there was me saving my hard earned pennies to buy a Speedster - all I need is an old tent and some string and I will have saved myself a packet!!

    Cheapo Tach.

Hi Stevie I followed your great link and got hold of the Cheapo tach, all arrived really promptly this morning and am really impressed with it so far, although I haven't fitted to the motor as yet, but I think that should be pretty simple, just one thing though, I haven't managed to be able to turn mine off yet, and the instructions don't mention it at all, does it go off automatically ? I have been watching it all day and still nothing! Adam
  9. Hi rafal it would be great to meet up and have aa float about, as soon as the weather clears up a bit I'll let you know where I'm going to fly from. The idea of flying from the Clifton downs has been playing in my head, it is out of the Bristol atz and there are a fair few places to land out if there was an engine problem, you could safely stay legal (the 500' rule) but it just seems wrong! Safe take off, over the sea wall and down through the Avon gorge would be a great flight, anyone interested?.
  10. Hi Raffroomservice Let me know when you are available to fly, there are a few really nice places to fly from locally & i'de be happy to show you a few. Adam
  11. Hi, like you I have just returned to the sport from a long break from paragliding, I re-trained with a great instructor in south wales, got me back flying in no time, really helpful and willing to spend the time to make sure I was safe and comfortable with what I was doing, more than happy to pass on his details. I am trying to get a Bristol / north Somerset club off the ground (no pun intended) so if you fancy travelling north for a beer one evening there are a couple of us that would be happy to share any collective knowledge. Good luck, look forward to flying with you soon
  12. The weather was brilliant this morning, Had a couple of amazing flights from Weston beach, would have posted some photos but forgot my camera, must have been the frost playing with my already crap memory. Not trying to tell grandma how to suck eggs but whilst doing my preflight checks I had a great idea, mark the bits to check with some coloured spots, it's been a while since my last flight and I was paranoid about missing something, bright little spots on the key check points may have helped, especially in the cold weather.
  13. Cheers Phil, Thanks for the reply & info, any pointers and contacts would be great. As for moooving west what could be better, Sunshine & Cider - it's the way forward!!! Could be a great idea for a fly in!! Adam
  14. Introducing the Somerset & Bristol Branch of the Paramotor Club. Thinking it was about time that Bristol had a paramotor club branch I contacted Simon and asked about the possibilities, hey presto we have a Bristol & Somerset club & I have offered to be the co-ordinator - this is all a little new to me so please bear with me until I find my feet so to speak. Firstly my name is Adam and I live just outside of Bristol in Nailsea, Whilst I am fairly new to the sport of paramotoring, I have had experience flying other types of aircraft in the past & enjoy most, flying with other like minded people. First things first I suppose, we need to find a club base or central contact point and some fields to fly from - or areas that shouldn't be flown from!! There are lots of open spaces around here and farmers who might welcome a spot of diversification so any pointers or contacts would be great, I have fairly thick skin and don't mind asking for permission to use peoples land, but an introduction is always helpful. It may be a while before we are up and running as a proper club. Perhaps we can use this area of the main forum as a contact point for anyone looking to fly in the area, and a way to find like minded pilots and maybe meet up.
  15. Hi Simon Just paid up in full, least i could do for all the info, hints & tips I have gained from the site, didn't realise that you got a dvd and free fly ins in the deal - silly not to join really!! I would also like to start a Bristol group, can you point me in the direction of how to set this up? there must be a couple of pilots in the area and it would be good to get together and arrange some local flying sites and get togethers. Thanks again for all the good work Adam
  16. Brilliant video, shame about the crap weather here at the mo!!
  17. Hi all, I would really love to fly the bore early next year, have surfed it a few times and would love to see it from the sky, would you mind if I tagged along next time, still a bit green at this paramotoring thing and am paranoid about inadvertently flying somewhere and screwing it up for others. Any info would be really helpful
  18. Hi I am just starting to fly in the Weston area and am looking for places / people to fly with, any help and contacts would be most welcome Adam
  19. Hi all, I live in the Bristol area and have just passed my cp ppg exam and am looking for some places to fly and people to fly with, any help would be much appreciated as I don't want to fly anywhere that may have already been black spotted. Many thanks
