  1. Hi, going back to your original post and you going round in circles I'm not going to help much! I have a zenith Moster and a V3 Moster, both are plenty powerful, I'm 115Kg and 6' tall, and they push me easily, solo and I've used the same set up for tandem and power isn't an issue at all, wing choice is a little more critical in my opinion - and good technique, I'm flying a paramania GTX 24 and this set up picks me off the floor in nil wind as quick as any other pilot, however it's not a first wing set up by any means. I find the Moster a great engine with very few vices, the polini motors have had a lot of issues, they seem to have been less over the past year but that could be because they are not so popular now, I'd have a good look into the dealer support, there's nothing worse the having the time and conditions to fly but being grounded because you are waiting for a part, I've also always steered clear of the electric start, in my opinion it's additional weight your lugging about and just another thing to go wrong, it's nice as an option if you really want it but if it's your only option it will let you down at some point, I've been flying at least 5 times when friends have been grounded due to flat batteries of electrical issues - I think the nitro has both options and a clutch as standard. The V3 is a great set up, it is a little heavier but you won't notice that much difference when you are running as you'll be using the thrust to push you along, it also has a 15l fuel tank so going back to your original post about XC you'll be able to get a good 2.5 hours minimum before having to land, the Zenith has 12l and the Maverick has only 10l, however most of my flights are about an hour long so I normally only have about 7l on take off - no point on taking too much additional ballast. I'm just about to sell my zenith and replace it with either a maverick or if I can get a test flight a nitro, both suppliers will give you excellent customer support and buying from either won't be an issue, however having not flown the nitro I can't really give any help, only what I've been told and read. good luck!

I have found the "GTX Wobble" annoying sometimes but other times the wing is steady as you like, to be honest I'd forgotten about it, the last 5 or 6 flights have been hands off and pretty much weight shift only. I'm close on 100kg starkers and fly the 24, I have a friend who is mid 90s and fly's a 26 speedster, on full trim there's only a small difference in the speed but the GTX is slightly faster, the bigger difference is in the slow speed, the speedster seems to be able to fly considerably slower on trims. I have to say I've found the differences are marginal possibly 1kph at best, and again the fuel burn is only a best guess and marginal and not measured by anything more than marks on the tank and time in the air but I would still bet that my GTX is slightly more efficient than my old speedster set up. I've not managed to blag a flight on a Viper 3 but I'd love to have a go when I get the chance, 100 + hours PPG and 50 + hours PG , but I am put off by the expert or die feel of the advertising!

If I can add my 2p's worth I had a speedster 30 for a couple of years and loved it, nice easy wing to fly, a little "baggy" by comparison to the current wing I'm flying I'm now flying a GTX 24, it's a lot more dynamic if you want it to be or will happily sit above your head and let you potter along hands free, I have a feeling that it could bite you on the arse if you weren't sure on what you were doing tho. I find the the GTX is more fuel efficient & a lot easier to launch, the speedster was easy and I'd had no complaints but the GTX just seems to jump off the floor, sit above your head and want to play. As far as I can make out from the Ozone blurb, the Sirocco is a lighter weight Speedster aimed at older Gents and Women - Not my words I hasten to add, The Viper will eat you unless your a comp Pilot & the Roadster is aimed at the beginner market and is a little more forgiving but has less dynamic flight qualities. Maybe I'm just reading into the Ozone blurb too much as I think they are great wings but I think the marketing is a little off. I've never managed to fly the WRC, tried to get a test flight on one but after 3 months of being messed about by a dealer I gave up, to be honest I've only heard negative stuff about the customer service, that said it's better than the current Paramania service!   9. One of my clothing suppliers is now able to supply me the dickies suits, I can sell them for £50 each + carriage, don't know how that compares with other shops but they're there if you fancy one. I'm close on 6' and they fit me fine Badger

Hi All I selling my Paramania GTX 24, it was bought new in Feb this year, first flight was mid March, it is in the Storm colour scheme (Grey, Black & Orange logo) it's done about 24 hours and is in mint condition, comes with all the Paramania stuff you get when bought new - stuff sack, rucksack spare lines and so on. These wings are great fun to fly and are the build quality is second to none. I'll upload some photos when the weather dries up and I don't have to get the wing wet. £2000.00 ONO Badger

  16. I didn't get the USB in my pack, I'll have to have a look on the paramania site to see if I can download a current one, The bag of Magic is good tho!! I get the wobbles every now and then on my 24, doesn't seem to matter what trim setting or conditions, just seems to start, easy to stop with a little steering correction. Badger

I loved the speedster and would recommend it to anybody, if you get a chance to fly both do as I found them very different wings in the air, I wanted to compete in a slalom comp and after a couple of trials found the speedster 30 a bit big for what I wanted so I needed to down size. I was contemplating a 26 Speedster & a GTX and flying them back to back for a while, but after I bought the GTX I never flew the speedster 30 again so sold it a while ago and never got round to getting the Speedster 26. I found them very much Chalk and Cheese, by comparison the Speedster felt sluggish and docile (it was a 30 tho) but a lot more forgiving and simple to fly, I find the GTX needs to be flown, you can't grab some brake and let go when your finished with the turn you have to "pilot it" a bit more, but then if you want to bung it a round a bit it's a lot more willing to play if that make sense. I still can't get over the difference in wing size for the same performance on fuel economy, take off and increase in speed, like I said above the landings are a little faster but that's just fine tuning of my technique I think. Just re read my earlier post the 140 KG all up is what I feel realistic, I'm 100 ish in the buff and fly a Zenith Moster, but I normally fly with fuel and clothes on!!

I'm 140kg all up and I went from a ozone speedster 30 to a GTX 24, I was really not sure about the big drop in size but I've found very little difference in economy, maybe slightly more consumption on the GTX but no where near as much as I thought, the revs to keep level flight are pretty much the same, Take off run is the same if not shorter, and I can get my head round that at all, the wing comes up sooo fast and before you know it your airborne, nil wind take off's are not an issue at all, it's a lot more twitchy than the speedster, about 3" of brake is the same as pretty much full brake and tst toggle on the speedster, and it turns very fast if you want it to. The only down sides I have found are the lack of manual, for instance I never knew that the brakes can be moved to your desired position very easily, this is a big plus and it was a mate who told me. The other one is landing speed, I used to have the speedster sussed so it was a gentle step down on most landings, I'm finding the GTX much harder to slow down, on nil wind days i'm having to take 4 or 5 fast steps to stop - any tips would be much appreciated! All in all I'm loving the GTX and and would recommend it for anyone who wants to take a step up, it's only for experienced pilots in my opinion as I would think you could get into trouble quite quickly. It feels rock solid in lumpy stuff and as I said it's so easy to launch, wingovers and spirals are a breeze and it feels very light and well made, would Highly recommend to any experienced pilot.
  19. There used to be 2 microlight schools in the "area" one in Weston Zoyland and one at Dunkerswell (Proper west country names!!) Both used to do Trike (Flexwing) lessons but I'm unsure if they are still going. Badger

I used to do a lot of flex wing microlight flying, hang glider and trike type as oppose to the small Cessna type, it really is great fun and the modern machines are very fast, however when I decided to get back into flying a couple if years ago I had flights in both types of microlights to revalidate my licence and a Paramotor course back to back to see which I preferred and to weigh up the pros and cons of both. Whist it's true the weather window is bigger for some microlights and modern machines are a lot faster so you can go places, they are a lot of money to buy, run and keep, maintenance and storage is also a big cost factor. If you speak to most pilots and ask them where they go in their machines I bet most will tell you that they stay local to the airfield and just bimble about in nice conditions that are very similar to the conditions we fly in. You are able to take an additional victim with you if you like, in the 4 or 5 years I flew them I must have done it at least 6 times, again the ideas great but the reality is quite different. It is a great sport and like the Paramotor community, a very friendly scene with lots of similar minded people about that are very keen to help, I chose paramotoring over microlighting and I've managed to fly in more conditions, from more areas and seen more interesting things than I did in the microlight. Foot dragging on the beach and skimming low over the hedges with the wind in your face is a real blast an an experience that you will be hard pressed to beat. Be open minded about both types of flying, if you can afford it learn both and see which one you prefer after a bit of flying. Just my couple of pennies worth at silly o'clock in the morning! Badger
