    Mission Everest.

Hi all, Just got my new TV Times and seen it advertised for Monday at 9pm ch 4. so definately on. And also noticed that they are using an hour and thirty five mins to air it. A lot longer than the one we saw Simon. Mike

    What would you do?

Simon, it could go either way, if its a well seasoned pilot the formation would be more spectacular and more for the charity. If a low airtimer it could mess up take offs and possibly landings and if you have six pilots all using fuel waiting for a seventh we will never reach the refuelling stop(s).....Just reading my reply, reads that l'm on the fence on this one, so probably be down to a vote at the end of the day. Just to add, do you know this pilot, is he/she reliable, Is he/she willing to come to the training weekends, does he/she know whats involved ie the endurance side of things, and if a (she) hope she doesn't mind the buddy buddy system Mike
  4. hi Simon, yep day booked off. WILL be there. See you all on the day (Thurs) Mike.
  5. Simon, will give you a definate Thursday night. Mike.
  6. Simon, as much as l'd love to go at a moments notice, my work may stop me but l will endeavour to prewarn my boss and perhaps if the dates are favourble l may be able to get away. Working it out this will fall about three weeks before the planned 12/13 April w'end which l have definately booked. Are you still planning to go on the 12/13 April Mike

Looks blown out for the weekend once again so catch up with you the following weekend. The weather should start to settle down by then. Mike. P.S. T to T is definately growing

    Packing :-)

Hi team, will be setting off at 0600 in the morning. tom tom reckons 3and half hours. See you all there. Mike. P.S. early night so switching of PC at about 2100, anything new contact me on the my mobile.
  12. Hi Jamie, When you get really into this fantastic sport of paramotoring, your'll find that there are many members within the Lambourn branch willing to give you encouragement . I am from Farnborough, Hants and fly Sunday and Mondays. I work Saturdays. FLPA flying instills a lot of patience in one which l have learnt over the years, especially when the weather doesn't play ball. But believe me, when you take to the skies for your first flight you will be smitten. and have a smile from ear to ear. And lastly welcome to the forum. Mike
  13. Yep, i'm up for it, but depends on day and time Mike
  14. Simon, looks blown out, especially with the amount of us online at mo. but Monday is looking a tad better. Will you be at the field. Mike

    Sleeping bags.

Will be under my own steam Simon, travelling from Farnborough, Hants. No room for extra kit but do have a passenger seat available if anyones stuck. What time do you want us at Dartmoor Saturday morning. I've got it somewhere but can you give me the post code so l can tap it into my Tom Tom. This weekend looks a bit on the windy side, hope it improves for Sun/Mon Regards Mike
  16. Hi Simon, A good PR trip to the airfield this morning, well worth the trip, pity we wern't airborne together, we could have done a fly past, but l'm sure the farmer was impressed anyway (good luck on future negotiations). Got half way up the track again, but no further, so went off to Murcury for a spate of PG flying. Quite a few there, there was lift but not very strong so had three short flights then went home. Giving Jackie a day out Monday so will catch up with you all next weekend. Lets hope this weather carries on through to spring, and gets even better, Yeah. Mike
  17. My pennyworth....... Chris's imput shows common sense and respect for all concerned. I agree with him whole heartedly... This sport is slowly being govened. what with insurance going from 2 to 5million, sites closing as in (Milk) the Transponder issue etc etc. next we will probably need a PPL licence, who knows whats round the corner. Officialdom seems to be crushing us. Why can't we enjoy a sport/pastime for what it is, pure enjoyment. We soon won't be able to enjoy if this crushing effect takes hold. Yes there are rules, air space etc, but most pilots l've met are sensible and abide by the safety rules. A lot of this restrictive effect is either someone making money or jelous of our flying enjoyment. Mike
  18. Hi Russ, there are plenty of helpful/happy crowd at the Lambourn Club. I found this myself when l joined. You can ask any question and they will give you instant answers and always ready to help. Hope you carry on with your training for PPG and join us on a regular basis. Of course all are welcome. Myself and two others must have missed the three pilots from Hook by a hairs breath as we were flying from Winchester to Basingstoke. (3.20pm - approx 17.15) And Simon and Colin had a great flight to on Sunday. Regards Mike
  19. Hi Slim, didn't realise it was your first, WELL DONE on your maiden flight. (hope you got out the field ok) Mike
  20. Hi Simon, yep trip cancelled, otherwise l wouldnt be home now writing this so now going to check out my motor, and kit and wait out till next weekend. (still a fantastic flight yesterday for me, and sounds like you had one also, with Colin. Not long now till Dartmoor anyway. Regards Mike
  21. Hi Slim, glad you got airborne after excalating the track, wished l had 4 wheel drive, Simon flew overhead giving (shouting) directions for the best route but with one drive wheel l had no chance. Hats of to you Colin for getting to the airfield, still dont know how you managed it in your car. Anyway, in the end l went to Winchester and finally had a flight from there to Basingstoke with two other pilots and run out of petrol just short of intended landing field but Kay Sayers was duty retrieve and off to the pub we all went, so not a bad day after all. Hope next weekend is just as good or even better. Monday 11th l am off to Golden Ball for a bit of PG flying. Regards Mike
  22. COULD BE A BUSY DAY, MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
  23. Bring your paramotoring mag with you to the airfield as well Simon, to read the Tip to Tip article. See you in Morn. Mike
  24. Simular for me, work on Saturdays and my favorite head position is looking upwards. Today more so, stuck in a dusty old workshop feeling the rays of warm sunshine on my bod, with blue skies and low wind (blast and double blast) See you all tomorrow and l will curse if this weather changes. Home now, warming up and checking my motor for Sunday. Mike
