  1. Well since finding out that this sport is fun and wanting to have a go, I've now had the chance to ground handle a training wing and a full size wing in both zero wind and low wind conditions a number of times. Guess what, I can knot the risers in any wind conditions doesn't matter what colour they are I can do it. My mate has sit down as he's laughing so much. One day I'll wipe the smile off his face not to mention the smug look when he shows me how do do it. He then goes on to mention pongo's and flying that's a cheek coming from a marine. Still practice makes perfect and some of us need a hell of a lot of practice!
  2. Listen lads at least you have a wing. I went down to Lambourn to see what it's all about and want to do it now. I'm using my riding hat and a builders harness if someone is kind enough to lend me a wing to ground handle! Any type of wing will be welcome if I had the cash
  3. I had a taster day on Sunday, no charge free advice from everyone there. I also watched a first flight plus three lads dropped out of the sky from Fleet for coffee! One lad had frozen hands so he was offerd a pair of windproof gloves and was asked to post them back when he got home. I walked away with a training wing, a harness and a helmet so I could practice for the next two weeks. Today (Tuesday near Reading) I practiced ground handling with Terry W when a microlight landed and the elderly crew came over for a chat and offered me a flight. It's so nice to know that people like you are still out there. Great to meet you. Russ
  4. Hi, Just to say hello. I'm interested in paramotoring and hope to visit the Lambourn club with Terry W in the near future. I live in Blewbury and work in Oxford. I've been in the army as a medic and done some parachuting although I'm getting on a bit. Terry can't stop telling me how good this sport is so I thought I'll try it for myself. I may be able to help as ground crew in the tip to tip if you still require some help? Looking forward to meeting you and getting lots of advice! Russ Aitkins
