  1. Thanks for that, I also have a nuke 31 that would go at the right price and it took me a while to figure how this scam would have worked, although the grammar set alarm bells ringing straight away. Nige
  2. Could have done with your prop late saturday night John when we ran out of firewood Nige
  3. Hi Mark, I copied the letter and posted it on another forum but who is Jason and how do we get in touch so he knows numbers - I imagine its so the pub can stock up accordingly, or maybe the poor bloke was just trying to organise a get together for a few mates - might be in for a shock when he arrives and half the worlds there! Nige
  4. Lightweights. I used to paraglide there years ago - a frequent 200 mile round trip. I can't wait to go. Nige
  5. Spot landing is good, but beware of something I did last night while trying to be very accurate. I set up my glide as usual but it seemed I was going to be slightly long so I did a couple of "s" turns to lose a little height - normally ok but on this occasion I was too near the ground and was taken aback by how much swinging happened. I stabilised and landed safely but it could have been nasty. I think it was a complacency thing that happens after 100+ hours. Nige
  6. Such a shame about that landing fee, I can certainly appreciate joining and paying to be a local club member if it enables you to use what maybe the only local field but distant occasional visitors should be welcomed for free - even offered a beer for gracing with their presence! Nige
  7. Oh yeah, it's what I do, besides, if summat happened there's nothing you could pull that would do anygood anyway
  8. Ive done 26 hours this year if that helps. Nige
  9. Well spotted, what an absolute w****r!
  10. ...and I never fly with sex toys either
  11. I like having a 6 hour or thereabouts duration, not that I would fly that long but more I could fly somewhere, land then off again to several other places without having to find a garage. Nige (now flying last years model)
  12. Phil, next time you fly and you find yourself correcting for crosswind drift, try this, keep your trimmers/brakes the same but this time be sure to point the glider in the "correct" direction. If you estimate the direction angle correctly you will find you will get to where you want to without constant adjustment. Regards Nige
  13. I am not a violent person as anyone who knows me will know but a punch in the face awaits the writer of "plummet from the skies"! Grrrr! Nige
  14. Thanks Cesar, look forward to seeing you all again. Next time the landowner goes back to Thailand you'll have to put a green flag on the streamer so we know its safe to land!! Cheers Nige
  15. Looking forward to your report on in flight sound quality, thanks for posting. Nige

    Nice

Just when you think you've seen everything! Excellent. Nige
  17. ...to the guys who made us feel so welcome when we dropped in at your field between Rushden and Wellingborough tonight, hope to catch you at our fields sometime. Cheers Nige, Lindsay.
  18. Not sure about horseshoe but there is a building which is boomerang shaped with a few barns around it, the strip tilts up at its west end. I'll send a pic when you text. Cheers Nige
  19. There's a nice pap1400 on eBay at the moment, I think it ends tommorow morning... Nige
  20. Don't know of anywhere around your way but I think there are places. The Pitsford strip can be seen on google earth, just find Pitsford reservoir and the strip runs left to right a couple of hundred yards south. If you zoom in you will see the windsock at its easterly end. Not easy to direct there by road so you would need to tag along when we fly there next. Nige
  21. Hiya, yes I remember. Yes Pitsford is open to all that can use it, however ownership of the land has just changed, apparantly he intends to keep the strip open but he said something about the collection box takings, either it's being robbed or some pilots are forgetting to donate. It's an ideal place but not the only one in the area. Nige
  22. Tim, try Clive at marstonairfield.co.uk, not too far away near Market Harborough. Cheers Nige
  23. Those two things are the most likely causes of collapses, however ground turbulence caused by wind blowing around trees and buildings present a hazard if your downwind of such things. Oh and dont play chicken with a Chinnook or Hercules.. Nige
