  1. Hi Pete, the tent was in the next field north-west of ours. I said wind sock but it was actually one of those tall skinny flag things, I think it may have been set up as a heli shuttle site for Silverstone. The three objects looked like black wheely bins or at least something of that colour and dimensions.
  2. What are the three objects lined up across the middle of the field? and whats going on in the adjacent field, it has a big tent and a windsock? Tim and I flew down there tonight from Northampton to have a look. Nige
  3. That might have been near where I fly, where was it? Oh and yes I would report it.
  4. The foot stirrup works well but is "messy", I found that it starts easy with even a left handed pull when it is warm. However a certain technique is requiered namely to find the compression and pull with a sort of arm flicking action rather than a firm pull if you get my meaning, think of trying to pull a tablecloth from underneath crockery. One other thing is the pulley, the bearing seems to wear causing some friction. I spent a 12 quid at a sailing shop for a high quality, ball bearing one, I believe this helps a lot.
  5. Haved just watch that again, oh yes that thrust angle was definately too downward. Would be interesting to know his weight, the engine and the hole position being used.
  6. Cant wait. How about a big-ish camp fire for Sat night? Do you think the owners would mind?
  7. Could carry sufficient whisky and coke instead of beer.
  8. Hi Bignos, I'm hoping to fly there as well, was thinking of sleeping in a bivvy bag but someone mentioned about snakes so might take my hammock instead. I reckon I can be self sufficient but transporting beer has yet to be solved. Nige
  9. Great news! Me and a few others just up the road as well. Cant make 19,20 June or 10,11 July, any other time would be great. Cheers Nige
  10. When you said "good news" I was expecting an anouncement of another great, up and coming, fly-in/pissup. When's that happening?
  11. Hope my Paps shackles etc. are as strong.
  12. Wonder what book he was reading and how far into it does it talk about lockouts.
  13. Pete, our clutch shoes are meant to have no lining, see what Francesco posted on the other forum.
  14. Wonderful! I,m keeping my camera handy for when its your turn, could be the start of a caption competition.
  15. Lindsay reckons he,ll be there and my missus says I will be allowed aswell. See if Pete wants to attend. I,ll carry my spare prop so people will know who we are - nah maybe not, paramotorists have something subtle that sets them aside, we,ll know who,s who.
  16. Have a look at my Rad MXL for sale on Skyads.com or Paramotorsuk.
  17. I used to use the netting from a cheap netting hammock from Argos, dont think they do it anymore but should turn up elswhere.

How much do you weigh? It would help to point you in the right direction.
  20. Hey Mat, I have had a mxl for 6 years and just last week bought a pap top80 1400, what a difference! I weigh 82 kilos and though launches were reliable it sort of only just got off. Now the launches are much easier. The big difference is quietness and less vibration and what a joy when idling during descent, as I,m sure you have found. Think I might have to try a reflex wing now. Nige
  21. How about testing each lower line by stressing it to about say 35% its breaking strain and see what happens, you may find that 1 or 2 snap at as little as 20 %. I had an old wing once and decided to re-stretch the lines in case they had shrunk. One of the stabilo lines snapped with a petite 11 year old girl pulling at the other end. Dont know what the tension was but my guess was that it was around 10% of breaking strain. Then try porosity test by trying to breath air through the upper leading edge nylon. Finally get someone to hold the material taught and try to poke your thumb through it. I believe these tests would highlight the most common ageing problems. Flame on!
  22. I wish you well with that exhaust, its just that I,ve known a couple of people who have had trouble keeping them on. If your mounting method works then I,ll have one on mine. Cheers nige
  23. My local field will be a bit waterlogged tomorrow, I reckon we should go to whoever has a reasonable field. Anybody here with just such a thing and be ok with a few visitors?
  24. Weathers looking ok for sunday, am planning on playing out late afternoon, anyone else?
