Guest
The reason, is more that we have the base code and it is simple to include other countries. so more a case of why not, than why. SW
alan_k
NOW includes FRANCE!So we have now included the French Notams and soon to follow the USA. SW This is certainly good for me . There have been recent changes to the presentation of Notams on the SIA website so here is a quick guide: Looking at the diagram for France I notice that there is a restricted area of diameter 300km centred approximately between Angers and Tours. If you click on the R in the centre it brings up a listing of low altitude restricted areas with Rxxx designations. This can be a large list, the 300km circle is a one size fits all to include lots of restricted areas. In order to see where and how big the individual areas are go to http://www.sia.aviation-civile.gouv.fr/ ... r.asp?m=39 and then click on 'Carte AZBA du xxxxxxxxx' for your particular day and expected time of flight. This will open a new window with a map showing the Rxxx restricted areas and the active times on page 2. Area R149C is the restricted area above Airvault. Safe flying all, Alan
norman
Dave, Simon, What a great bit of work. Top! Why NATS cannot seem to do this god only knows. I gather the Yahoo Group are looking at it and trying to pull a few chains. Good luck to them, great initiative.
togsie
Guys, from the NATS website: WHY DO I HAVE TO REGISTER? For two reasons: Firstly, this makes it possible for you to reuse the template that you applied in order to obtain a brief. This is particularly useful for flights operated on a regular or scheduled basis using a complex route structure over long distances. Secondly, in the unlikely event of an incident, registration helps to prove to investigators that flight planning activity has taken place. The second point is interesting and could be a good reason to check NOTAMS on the official site in addition to other sources. Regards. Togsie. irm750
If you had to prove that you had checked for NOTAM's and use the PMC portal for the that advice could you not point to your browser history and show whoever needed to know that you had been there? More likely if have an incident with another air user whose actions should have been the subject of a NOTAM (e.g low level military activity) you could use this information to back up any complaint! Best regards, Ian.
