  1. Cool party Simon, thanks for organising. Great to see the hardcore PMC guys and girls out of the usual muddy field environment, roll on summer 2010.
  2. Just double checking, I thought the clubhouse was on Martens Road, Shrivenham SN6 8AX
  3. Stick one of these in each glove, batteries not required....
  4. Looks like you are a cyborg, how easy is it to get to the kill switch ?
  5. PeteB used his extensive welding and explosive experience to be the stunt double for the shop dummy in that clip
  6. Oy stop stealing my weather good news !! Seriously whats the track like up to the flagpole ? or do we have an alternative field for those of us with crap cars ?
  7. Great minds think alike, while we are on the weather topic, keep an eye on the end of the week into next weekend, I hope we see a nice high pressure making a belated appearance !!
  8. Very cool, this ones my favourite, nice effect:
  9. Just seen this advertised for £150, it's conceived by NATS and Airbox to help pilots avoid unknowingly flying into controlled airspace. Looks ok for the price, includes airmaps and free airspace updates, what do you reckon ? more info here
  10. Textbook stuff mate, from the other Dan
  11. Hey Simon if we subscribe to paramotormag through the PMC will we be entered in their prize draw on 1st dec ? http://www.paramotormag.com/subscriber-prize-draw-2009/ looks good.....
  12. Don't know if you watch the Gadgetshow but JB made a really cool jet powered hover board, below is a youtube clip from an old design last year - this years can only been seen on the C5 website about 30 mins in Very cool I reckon [youtubevideo] [/youtubevideo]
  13. Good one Dan but I'd rather have a banana to eat thanks. The apparently curved prop is an artefact of the frame rate/propellor speed. I watched the video again this morning and you can see it at 1:10, 2:43(briefly), and 6:12. The shot at 6:16 to 6:17 gives the impression that the prop is changing shape as it revolves Brilliant. Alan Thanks to the other forum for the specifics - it's a rolling shutter on the CMOS sensor that causes the bendy prop effect, either that or the Apache is using a Bananna prop too.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolling_shutter
  14. Is there room for a dodgy Geordie ? count me in !
  15. This week it was at Lambourn, worth a watch as they are up at the Uffington horse which we are all familiar with. Weather forecast (grim this week) is at 45 mins and is always good for the next five days. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0 ... 5_11_2009/
  16. Yes I was going to ask about that - as I have never seen anything like it.Does anyone know more about this type of prop - and if so what are the supposed advantages ? Andy That would be the latest design bananna prop, same length but bent hence smaller radius which is less likely to come into contact with frame/lines etc.
  17. Aye I remember that very well. PK's props are nice though, I think I had the wrong one delivered (P11/P12 mix up) hence the overpitch issue and by the time I got a genuine H&E Aerobat prop and got my repaired one back I did not need PK's prop so sent it back and did not ask him for the correct prop - so I can't offer a true comparison.
  18. I just undo the two screws on my numberplate and cable tie it to the rear of the rak, never had any hassles and saves messing with electrics, takes seconds to put it back afterwards.
  19. hft champ ? well done that man ! I shoot bigger calibres mostly at Bisley
  20. While I can't answer your question, if you want a classic prop to hang on your wall check out this ad that I just spotted: WW1 SE5A prop I reckon a Flat Top would spin that up nicely
  21. I pullstart my H&E when it's on my back, never bothered doing it in the air as I don't use thermals however I'm sure it's easy enough, pullstart is located over the right shoulder. Have seen too many people miss flights with electric starts that have gone flat saying that I would like a Parajet and I'd make sure it was plugged into a 12v battery saver to keep it tip top, I don't think you notice the extra weight of the starter & battery due to the fact that the harness is so comfy.
