  1. Thats fantastic news! I was told that if you couldnt see the bronze bush then it needed replacing, I looked and guess what......... I have never had the exhaust off it so was in the dark totally. Thanks guys.
  2. Just jumping on the back of this. Does anybody have any ideas about the service intervals of the bronze exhaust bushing on a vittorazi moster 185 classic? I cannot find very much web info to help me along. I have been told a certain time-span by someone but it seems to me to be far too short. for the record, currently mine is on 50 hours.
  3. I started doing my RAPS skydiving course in Chatteris Cambs, but there was so much time wasted in travelling and the usual too windy, too cloudy, too wet etc, parawaiting was driving me mad. As your RAPS dictates that certain tasks must be completed within a certain time frame it was fast becoming apparent that it was a near impossible task for me to keep advancing. I had often considered paramotoring as it seemed the next logical step to get my Adrenalin fix. I spoke to a friend of mine who had talked about doing a course in the past but never really pursued it. And then out of the blue (magically?) two guys started flying around where I work and through the power of PMC I got in touch with them and here I am 3 years later a fairly decent pilot and loving it.

  5. Maybe he is going to slash his outgoings by taking lessons from a well known guy in the U.S of A? (good luck there) The official distance if you take the crow is 603 miles or by road it's 874 miles, The road journey would take most many accomplished cyclists 10 to 14 days. I think given the unpredictable nature of the west coast weather and the rude awakening he will get when he finds out his average forwards speed is not any where near the 40mph mark - his forecasted week to do the trip will be somewhat lenghthened. I really do wish him the very best of luck though.

  7. I do indeed have and use a fuel mirror on a regular basis. I am just one of those guys who likes to experiment with different ways of doing things.
  8. I am looking at the possibility of adding a low fuel warning L.E.D system to my motor. I don't really fancy the whole fuel gauge thing as it looks like too much Ag. There was an article here posted years ago from a guy who had lights to warn of low fuel but this seemed to suggest he had an electric start and so a battery for a power source. I have no such luxury as I am a pull start kinda guy. Does anyone have some definitive ideas and diagrams etc please. Also where would be the best place to mount them? Frosty.
  9. Well, from A practicality view it doesn't have great legs due to weather fickleness, permissions, storage issues and your student loan would surely not stretch that far on equipment. But on a pose-value front......imagine the girl interest!!!

  11. I had a very close call too. I was taught by my original instructor to start the motor on the floor. I unloaded it from my van one day, primed it and pulled it over. It reached probably half revvs before I killed it. The strap I use to secure it in my van had fouled the throttle cable and pulled the outer sleeve out of the carb fitting at it had hooked behind it. I was very lucky to kill it in time. I trike all of the time now so starting on the floor is a tiny bit safer as I let the trike push against my van. I now ALWAYS ALWAYS check the throttle for free movement and have also aircraft wired the sleeve so it cannot pull out. Comments invited. That is very good advice Simon thank you.

  14. I don,t know Connor but I DO know he has a fantastic group of friends around him. I love the club spirit here and also the love for a fellow clubman. To see him driving his upscaled van was a joy. Lovely front grille too. G.W.S Connor.
  15. I stole this idea from a German paramotoring friend of mine. It simply(fy) consists of a window sucker available from any large DIY store (B&Q). It sucks onto any flat surface, I use the side of my van-and some moisture. yuck. Just cut one end of the sucker off flush-dont cut it in half as it will be too short- and then make a disc to slide over the end of the pole and glue into place. Make sure on the amount of pole that sits in the tube as it can't be too long . I had to drop 2 sections off my pole (ooer missus) as these two sections were too fat to fit into the tube but, this loss of height is almost compensated for by mounting it as high as possible on your car or W.H.Y.
  16. I have used Aerofix last year for a line replacement. It was a speedy 3 day turnaround and an exact colour match. Highly recommended indeed.
  17. Absolutely fantastic photographs and a brilliant write up. I am hoping to attend the 2018 bash (wife willing) it will be my first ever fly in since learning to fly 2 years ago.
  18. Hi all. I have owned a boxer GT in large for two years now. I have racked up 35 hours on it both foot launch and trike - my preference is the trike. It is a superbly stable wing with only a hint of pendulum sometimes but not enough to notice or worry about and is easily halted with a bit of brake input. In our group there are other pilots who fly the same wing in all of the available sizes and nobody has any complaints only praise. Buy one you won't regret it.
  19. I am going to be moving onto tandem paramotor trike flights next spring. I am 99% certain of the wing I am going to use but just wondered if anybody could give me an insight into their particular tandem wings and what they think of them please.
