  2. Good Morning everybody. I was just sniffing my way around the net and found the following, if somewhat old thrust test links - some of the engines are still around though http://www.usppa.org/News/2003_thrust_test.htm and http://www.thepico.com.au/pico/index.php/Thrust_Tests and http://www.usppa.org/Events/2005_events.htm and http://www.poweredparaglidingontario.ca/news/news1.htm note some of the results are 1/2 way down the page Cheers Simon
  3. Truly unbelievable - that such an innocent activity could lead to this. Please send love to Jackie God Bless Mike
  4. That to me look awesome fun. well done, I thought your flying was good especially how slow you were going in the slow task. you must be very close to the stall point ?
  5. hello I cant see the flat top website anywhere. does anyone know how much a frame costs please? baa also a spares list. not that I want one, not that I don't thanks simon
  6. Si as probably the largest and most menacing figure at the fly in, you have now been given the task of our official complaints department, All those in favour say "AYH" Well I am not a bad chioce as it goes. I do like the excitemnt of a good telling off, especially by dominatrix style ladies ! I have had such a breadth of experience of being told off that I have become quite adept at calming people down. I remember shaking a police womens hand and asking her if she would like to join our stag do as she was telling me off at 4am in the morning on a boat in maidenhead. which we later set adrift. I remained unarrested alas she refused. Happy to accept. Cheers Simon

  8. Nice one Pete, shame to miss it. Many congratulations
  9. Hi Malc, I am pleased for you that you walked away ok. If its any consolation - I also flew that day, along with another pilot. Both he and I had great difficulty climbing. It felt like most of the sky was going downwards. where normally I climbout no problem. all the best Simon
  10. Beautiful video and congratulations on your flight. There is nothing more beautiful than the silky smooth air late in the day with a blue sky, summer sun and flying over the stunning yellow rape fields. my favorite. Tip - sorry I can't help myself if you were to hold each A risers, one in each hand. if one side drops down slightly pull harder on that A riser and less hard on the other. this will correct the wing if it comes up skew whiff. This correction will stop you needing to abort. use the brakes only once it is above your head else you can drag it back down to earth. I hope this helps someone. I learnt it in paragliding. After trying loads of methods. It is particulary useful in high winds. The downside is it looks like a mess in your hands and can be hard to fathom as a beginner Simon
  11. I find myself Gayly swinging myundercarriage which ever way the wind blows not to be confused with horses hoofness
  12. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230483153969&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fshop.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2F%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dm570%26_nkw%3D230483153969%26_fvi%3D1&_rdc=1
  13. Here is some wisdom that I have imbibed from others. In my quest for what is the most reliable powerful Paramotor / economical. I ask all the wise long time flyers Only one name came out. Simonini mini 2 plus. Were they correct.? I think so because other wise why would so many manufacturers use this engine. I would also consider the fresh breeze if I were you. PS how much do you weigh? Simon
  14. Truly amazin - the aliens must have bought a mac and are running some funky design software as it looks pretty The aliens must know that it is only idle paramotor pilots that gayly wander the skies. looking at scenary. hence why the follow the PM club takeoff sites
  15. I don't propose you take a wrap, but lower rated wings have the stall point lower down on the brakes. for safety reasons. A wrap helps me get to the stall point without pushing my arms so low
  16. Hi Bignos, As Fanman and others have said motor off hands right up until you get as low as 10ft. at this point I take one wrap whilst holding 10ft altitude to bleed off the speed. when I begin dropping again bury the brakes as hard as possible ( assuming nil wind ) the wrap will give you a stronger flare. if there is wind, you will need a smaller final flare. else you will go back up and it will be a bad landing hope to see you and your new rig. Any pictures ? Simon
  17. I was down my local park, ground handling. Someone cameout and asked me not to do it for health and safety reasons. The asked did I mind not doing it. I of course being well brought up and polite said oh sorry I will move on. Whilst packing up. I thought to myself. People play rugby and football all day in this park, break their backs doing so. I am resposible for myself. When he comes back I will tell him to stick it, and call the police, if he wishes Why I have had enough of these pathetic laws dictating what I can and cannot do. in the name of health and safety. Let me judge whether flying a kite is dangerous. I shall mention that perhaps the bloke should not approach within a 20 M radius without wearing a helmet in case he gets hit. long live the revolution
  18. Fly casta went bang about a year ago, I have the mini 2 plus engine, not sure about the lark. you could call Geoff at http://www.paramotorsuk.co.uk he was a dealer for many years. they are a good machine have fun
  19. I loved your story whitters, Has anyone else got any tales of near Mrs
  20. Hello, I read the link and found the conclusion at the bottom interesting "Now having said that, here are my recommendations. If you have a Sea-Doo PWC that is still in warranty: Stay with XPS or XPS-DI. Sure there are API-TC certified oils that should preserve your warranty, but in an engine failure the dealer could cause you grief getting your PWC warranted. In my opinion, it’s just not worth the hassle to do battle with them. Stay with the XPS at least until the warranty expires. After the warranty expires, select API-TC oil that carries the certification or confirm in writing the oil you want to use is designed for your PWC. Then find someone else that uses the oil you are considering and get his or her opinion. Do not use TCW3 in your SeaDoo PWC. I don’t care if it’s a full synthetic or your brother-in-law uses it; for the reasons stated above, it will not protect your motor when conditions get tough in your motor." This subject matter is about jetski's which are very highly tuned. But it looks like there is a difference and more important to me is this line "I don’t care if it’s a full synthetic or your brother-in-law uses it" this means that there are fully synthetic oils that don't come up to the mark! Rock oil is legendary in Motorcycle circles. It does make sense that our motors are not over stressed usually running at under 10k rpm. and some do come with STIHL oil (Parajet). here is a good link for the stuff. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/STIHL-TWO-2-STROKE-ENGINE-OIL-100ML-ONE-1-SHOT-20-TUBES-/190388889510?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Home_Garden_GardenPowerTools_CA&hash=item2c540fe7a6 Cheers Simon
  21. Tim don't sell it. When my wife was pregnant I went from Paragliding to motoring so that when it was my time, I could make my time count. For your passions in life make time, or you will always regret it. you wont start paramotoring again in 3 years there will always be "other pressure/demands". my advice is fight all the way. to get the baby tandem spreader bars! congratulations Simon
  22. Hi Tom Its ok if you have insurance already. I don't and need it next week as will have kit in a Van. Uninsured. which makes me want to sleep with it
  23. Onrisk have at this moment in time stopped Paramotor insurance. my biggest concern is theft from car ! does anyone have insurance from another supplier many thanks Simon
