  1. Oh one more thing..... after all the dust clear what the hell are you going to do? Look at porn all day? You will need something to play with besides yourself lol!!!!! You will have lots of time!!!! Sorry could not help myself.
  2. I agree with you about the 5500! I think its one of the reasons I'm only one in the air on 0 wind days. I can run and lunch no problem with the light motor (even with only 80cc's). But the extra push of the 130 would be sweeeeet. cheers
  3. Go out for a fly make sure everyone knows, take some pictures of a motor that has crashed and you in it. Now its junk and not worth $500. Done.
  4. enzo I personally would work something out to keep something you love and thats not her lol There is so many ways for your motor and wing to disappear. Its a great way to enjoy something that will take you mind total off the stress of the shit in your life at any given time. Don't sell the kit..... I don't see her selling the business.
  5. Pat, I'm not sure any motor handles the knocks well. These guys crash quite a bit and I've seen every type here have the cage replaced. If your landings are a bit lose (like a Mexican hooker during tourist season). As long as the unit you buy has easy cage and prop replacement I would not worry (most do these days) Go on foot flyer this unit is highly rated I wish I would have known about this before I bought the miniplane. But I can not complain about the mini. It has a figerglass cage that I think would be the worst for taking knocks. I actually have another replacement sitting at home that Ive never needed but being a long way from a dealer its nice to have. But one thing I will tell you if you come in hard or bad its nice having a light motor. It's a ton easier on the legs.
  6. I was joking when I wrote that lol I know I was just giving him another poke!
  7. Tom, on that Golden 2 I think you need to change the risers not sure. But I've heard they are ok for PPG just a bit slow unless you get on the speedbar. But as you know the Golden 2 speed bar is not something to be played with they are famous for frontal's on full speed bar. How many cc's is that motor? I have the miniplane 80cc small frame and the large 130prop. The cage does not really cover the prop but it's what ever your comfortable with. I have a 26m Ozone Speedster and issue pushing the glider with 80cc. Yea might be worth looking thought the books and see if you can find the compression values for that motor then pick up a cheap compression tester $15-20. This will end the motor debate really quick. It will also prove if this motor is Clive's old unit lol.
  8. Trip over now? Shit that is really bad luck Man I would love to join you! I have almost the entire list of toys you have!!!! I've always wanted to see Scotland!
  9. Turn, I don't know your motor at all but does it seen to have a bit of extra power? Does it spin up the prop fast? or maybe not and its getting tired? What I'm thinking is a bigger prop if the motor and gear set can handle it. I run a mini top80 and a 130prop with lots of power. But maybe the guys are right older wing and older motor could be a combo effect of the two. Maybe if your mechanically inclined you can hone the cylinder pick up some rings and breath a little life back into the old girl (low cost). In my experience 2 strokes come back to life with a new set of reeds and rings. cheers T
  10. lol yea great harness. 24m and 20k over should get you going lol. I was thinking of getting the dudek 24m but now I'm thinking a free flying wing..... Ah I'll do nothing and ponder +1 for letting the gay guy with caps lock button stuck on his key board back in. T
  11. I did take a wrap, wow its was almost Acro time! lol I would have liked something in the middle (acro handles would be really nice). I'm going to hit the mountains next weekend for another go. It funny I'm the only one with the supair ALTIRANDO harness. No one has ever seen one before around here http://supair.com/products/en/sellette/ ... y-132.html Its a reversible harness/stuff sack. In my old location I had to hike 200-400-1800 feet to take off so weight was really important factor when flying. Anyways I show up at the mountain with a little larger then normal knapsack on my back (the light weight reserve and the speedster fit nicely inside). One guys runs over and stops the truck and starts looking for my harness (all the guys I was with had a big stuff sack and a big harness). I laughed and told him I have it here no issue. Unzip the sack out pops the paraglider and reserve, reverse the sack out pops the harness, zip up the back up.... Lets fly! Total weight under 10k If you looking for a simple light setup I cant recommend it enough. amazing to travel with (I just wrap the sack in plastic to protect it and then check it). Yea over all I'm happy with the speedster... lol I'm not sure the name fits but ok....
  12. Alan! How are you man? Have you been out at all? I've been really lucky we've been flying every week here. Last weekend I managed to make a trip to the mountains for a free flight on the speedster. Man I was scratching in really week lift for what seemed like hours trying to stay alive. All of a sudden it got a bit shitty and bam! I was in a 4.5m/s ripper to the clouds. It was the first time I tried free flight on a paramotor wing. At first I was flying with the trims at "0" and i could feel the wing sitting to far forward trying to gain speed. Once I realized what was causing it I closed the trims completely and it acted really nice I must say. Hard to tell the difference really.
  13. Morgy The use of the capital letters scares the shit out of me! I've forwarded his cell number to a really nice girl I know here. 14. My god man you were at the fly in with no beer? Who was your teacher? Was it Simon? Was there at least some scantily clad dressed ladies dancing on stage? You need to hang around that outkast guy he will get you sorted lol Sounds like you guys had a great event! Great to hear Cheers from Brazil T
  15. That is my next ABM ride for sure! Pat there is a video of the unit hitting the ground fairly hard only. The motor was ready for the next flight but the pilot...... not so much. I think it would compare well with anything currently out there.
  16. Hi guys, The guys are right about everything that has been posted. Are you coming from paragliding? This is important it will define what you are comfortable with I run a Miniplane with ABM and you will feel everything the wing is doing. I’ve had many Paramotor only flyers try it and it scares them. I personally have tried a high hang point and hated it. I want to feel the wing (I come from the paragliding world) I just had my speedster at the mountain flying just last weekend. Also I like to fly low and Slalom a little for this you need low handpoints and weight shift. Hope this helps
  17. ankle injury (overstated) hemmmm was this maybe not even from motoring? Maybe you overstated a few things with the wife and now have a limp? lol When you’re learning it’s good to have what it takes to remain safe. After that you can do as you wish. Understanding you are still flying at all times safely. I have a habit of flying over the takeoff only to kick my shoes off so they don’t get wet in the water lol.
  18. Ahhhh throw all that away and go with “impulse” Impulse boils down to 10k because it’s factually what you know. After that plead insanity (doing the same thing expecting a different result). Done....
  19. ahhh good for you man!!! nice to read. Simon goes on these 7 day fly-drink fests and some time forget to pay the electricity bills lol.... Someone has to take poke at the admin once in a while lol, But seriously good to hear your loving it. Keep it safe this is one of those sports that you need to remain humble. When you thing you know everything and have mastered everything that's the day to leave the wing in the garage. I just spent the better part of the day fishing a "know it all" (flying for 2y) out of the ocean.... Dam near drown myself. If I make it back to canada lets go for a fly!!!! cheers T
  20. "He expects to be listened to, though" I cant blame them. My teacher was the same "hardass" Australian. But I would take him again as a teacher any day.
  21. 100% agree “ learning to read the conditions for safe flying will be one of the most important things you grasp and I guess long after you can handle a paramotor competently you will be learning how to do it” Long after you will be learning this and some people never do they just trust in something they cannot see and fly anyway. Here in Brazil the wind/conditions can change per/km on the shores. I’ll give you an example if we have 5-7kns in Jacaripi 20km south in Pointa Fruita they are kite surfing in 15+kns. If you enter this area you may not leave (long walk) Just last weekend I was out the conditions were unstable and overcast. I knew it would be bumpy as hell (everything is going up). But if you understand what’s going on you get used to it. Here you just don't want to get too much height (gets a little crazy up top). Anyway I thought I'd go for a little rip up the coast. We have this area where the wind does something strange on south wind. I entered the area slowly and the deeper I went in the worst it got. I remember looking up to see the Ozone jumping around pretty good and for a Sunday that was enough for me. Mt point is you also need to learn the area every area has its own personally just like women Honest I don't know how people like Simon teach people. I can tell you its not for me. I don't have the stomach for it that's for sure. I've tried to teach people to Kitesurf and I gave up because it bothered me to much worrying about them. I kite like a crazy too, I'll launch 30 feet in the air take my board off throw it behind my back etc... but I cannot teach people. Thank god we have people like this Cheers T
  22. Steve he wants to buy a wing not pies
  23. I've never owned either, But I do have a Dudek Nuk and I can say nothing wrong about the quality and stability of the wing/manufacture. They are stable as.... that's for sure. I don't think you can go wrong with either but I will bet if you buy the Dudek it will be the faster of the two. This will allow you to fly with any wing (nice feature when your flying with buddies). Oh love the bag and riser bags that come with Dudek lol cheers T
  24. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3M-8671HS-Hel ... 1c330db878 .99 works for me. I found this one too. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3M-Clear-Heli ... 3cce60faea plastic, 3M Paint Protection Film was initially designed to protect helicopter blades from debris during the Vietnam War. $7 looks good too. I like this option better then paint I would like to think its something in the air here too but I'm starting to think its could be the marathon feet drags I've been doing down the beaches lol I think sunday I did a 200-300 meter drag Just might have something to do with it......... cheers
