Steve Marvel
Hey fellas, I just found this awesome, people friendly website on Paramotoring. I am stoked by the sport but have a couple of questions that I would be so grateful if you could field. First, I'm an older guy with two many pounds on board. That being said is it conceivable for a guy with a twenty year old attitude to conquer this sport and do so weighing in at a cool 240 pounds. I'm a former skydiver from years gone by and have that kinda attitude plus I have plenty of cash, so to speak, to get into the sport. Guys, do you know anybody that is 64 and would be a newby that gets into the sport. I am ever so grateful for the kind directions from you guys and gals. Major Blessings to you from Oklahoma!!!!!!!!!
admin (Simon W)
We are teaching a 79 year old at the moment (a couple of them in fact ) 240Lb is not actually that much at all!!! (That's only 104 KG to us lot) If you can dream it, you can do it!! Welcome to the Paramotor Club! SW

Neilzy
I’m 120kg (diet planned for new year yet again) and 55yr old and whilst it hurts in a regular basis the rewards far make up for the pain

Shorehambeach
Steve - hopefully some of your skydive skills will transition over a bit to your new sport. Its not as much of a buzz but it's great fun. Blue Skies
cianpars
I would be interested to know the biggest wing and motor available and what the maximum payload would be. What gear do you use to fly tandem and how much can it carry? Technically, what is the maximum weight to learn assuming that the fatty was fit enough ? AndyB
Rule of thumb for weight....15 hp for 70 kg and add 1 hp for every extra 5 kg.......so 100 kg needs 21 hp etc. Tandem wings take 250 kg ish, roughly.
cianpars
So i'm just under 100kg. So i need 21 hp? What sort ofcubic capacity might give me that Andy?
admin (Simon W)
I would start by looking at something along the lines of a Moster+ 185 (25bhp) which has bucket loads of power for the 'larger gentleman' 21bhp would most likely be a 150cc+ SW

Steve Marvel
Yes, Thanks so much for asking! We live in Oklahoma which right now we are charging 65°F today gorgeous day the only hiccup is there is considerable wind out here in the Plains so that will relegate much flying to morning and evening. Thanks for being so kind and so helpful you guys are awesome!
