  1. The logo was 'The Palm' http://www.flickr.com/photos/size11feet/3676109641/
  2. What is the logo? I can't make it out. Looks like a parajet though right?
  3. I remember trying to track it down for a tshirt or something. The closest match (but might not be the exact one) is a font called 'distress'; http://www.urbanfonts.com/fonts/Distress.htm Ben
  4. Don't do it... But if you do, then I may buy Is it still the PAP with HBS? I don't remember model, 1400 ROS? Dudek reactin wing? What about a part share? We only live 5 minutes from eachother...
  5. Yep, I use the same method as above. Gather all panels together with the patented morgy clapping technique, strap up then follow suit with the rest of the wing. I actually have an ozone sausage type bag which takes the whole length (ooh eeer misus) then folds into three and fits into my PG harness no probs. From what I see on the hill, there are 101 different ways to fold your wing. The above method preserves integrity of the mylar and puts less folds across the wing. Different strokes for different folks. Ben
  6. I stand in the forward launch position, controls in the correct hands, then I just grab the riser (left or right) over the head and turn around. Which ever riser is on top - that is the way you turn when the wing is up. No faffing about with anything then, simply grab the a's and pop her up, turn and go - everything will be right. Obviously there are other methods, but that works for me and seems 'simples' (as our friend the meeeeeeerkat would say)!
  7. Predictwind.com is also very good but you have to pay. I've been finding xcweather a bit off recently. Ben
  8. I think some of the extra features of GPS are plotting in way points (you can probably do that on your car GPS), but you can also export them. You can 'track' your route and then display it on googlemaps/earth (and also share that with people). You can download not only airmaps, but airspace indicators and proximity warnings etc. You generally get a better altimeter reading also. Erm, not sure what else really - somebody will add some more. Generally, car sat navs give you and concentrate on roads (obviously), other gps units are better for 'terrain'. Also, with some other units, you can add/install/hack software which will give all the functions of xcsoar (http://www.xcsoar.org/mediawiki/index.php/Main_Page) Ben
  9. Read this in bed this morning. Downloaded app whilst in shower. Jumped in car, 10 seconds flicking through screens in app. Started the stopwatch, drove to work, parked in car park, stopped stopwatch, saved route, clicked share button, walked into work, downloaded email and opened kmz into google earth - bang on! Great for the money. Seems to do lots of cool stuff, just need time to play. But ease of use and accuracy - 10/10. If only you could have vector overlays (also what googleearth on iphone needs...) Ben
  10. Hi Simon, Not all email applications have the 'read reciept' functioinality. Outlook, outlook express and a few other 'mainstream' mail cleints do - but not all. More and more people are using web based email, generally that does not have the ability to accept or reply to read receipts or it is disabled for bandwidth reasons. There are a few sites out there that offer a free email tracking service that works slightly differently to the read receipts, but will give you a fairly accurate answer to whether it has landed in their inbox. I have used them before, but never to happy about sending my email through a third party for privacy/security reasons. However, this does not make the fact you have had no reply any better or justified. How do they expect us to use the system if we don't know if it is working? A courtesy (even general automated) email would be nice for clarification of email receieved. Especially when it is of this importance really.
  11. Bonjour Frenchy, I will reaply in generic European (imagine I AM SHOUTING A BIT LOUDER) If you take a look on the droite hand side, vous will see the word 'Search' (recherch?). Simply type in parajet or macro. Vous will find lots of gut advice and muchos praise for ze parajet. Vous can also tappy tap in tandem and get similar results. Briefly looking, it looks like vous would be better off with a walkerjet or PAP F200 for tandem, not a macro. Somebody with more knowledge is bound to jump in and help you out any minuten. Ciao
  12. Good job Colin! Did you get paid hansom...ly?

    WATCH THIS!

Fook me - impressive! He asctually gets undressed whilst doing flips?!?!?
  14. NemoRev, I used to have a caravan in Brean - lovely place. Can you fly off the down? Also, you might want to take your insider info off of the post. Or you'll get every Tom, Dick and Harry there - probably the people that have ended up getting you all banned?!? Just my two pennies. Generally i'd be saying shout out about your site and let everybody know. But if the few have spoilt it for the many...
  15. Hi guys, I have recently bought a VX7R. I have done the obligatory solder jobby and it has reset the unit to the modified vertex standard. But, now I cannot tx/rx on PMR freqencies?!? I have tried with 2 different manufactureres of PMR - they both talk to eachother ok, but the VX7R doesn't do either?!? I remember reading months ago that within pmr there are steps or sub channels (i'm lost here). Any ideas at what i'm looking for? Thanks in advance... Ben
  16. Damn, meant to put over three years. Pooh bums!
  17. Hmmm, i'm gonna guess with thousands of accesses per month?!?
  18. Did I hear right? The pilots name is Dakota Moon?
  19. Yep, I will agree with you Malcs. It does look a bit amateur. But then sometimes there is a case that it makes it more personal... Personally, I think with the fully customisable, readily accessible packages (word press for example) there is no excuse for an amateur looking site these days. You have to look at it from the point of the client I think. But like all things, its all subjective. If you want Pete. I can whip together a very basic template for you. Ben
  20. Yep, I'd go with wordpress Pete. Simple, clean and fresh. Easily updateable, good for SEO too. Your webhost probably has it all set up and just needs to 'flick the switch' for you as it were. Speak to Norman, his digitalaviator site is WP. If your host doesn't have it, or you are with freebie and using forwarders- then you may be able to install it yourself if you have access to your space via ftp. Simples to do - copy and paste jobby really. Let me know if you get stuck
  21. Ed, YOU are on the DARKSIDE! Give me a break! I'll be doing a conversion at the end of it so will be both dark and light - ooooooh! What does that make me? I will be applying for full PMC membership once I have completed...promise
  22. I think Simon is in the process of changing it...
  23. I saw that too...gulp...
  24. You are going to go tandem Leo? I'm sure someone was selling one either here or one of the other sites. Seen one recently though...
  25. See the classified section... Ben
