  1. Nice one Eddie, thanks. I'll get the grease out and lube up copper grease on the terminals obviously See you tomorrowj
  2. Depending how complex and big it is, I have a 'vinyl' printer and a few different colours. It is not my job, just picked it up somewhere and use it for bits and bobs (that's my 'I don't really know what i'm doing and i'm not a pro disclaimer'). I'm not even sure if there should be a specific vinyl to use on your wing. But the offer is there none the less. If it is out of my saftey zone, then I could defo just whip up some simple vinyl to go on your kit (fuel tank, helmet, arms etc.) Ben Thinking about it, isn't there a real vinyl printing guy on here?
  3. Please find below downloadable files for the badge/sticker thingy; Word 97-2003 .doc format Adobe Reader format These prints are designed to 'fit' onto avery label 7163 (address label). It might miss the edges slightly as all depends on paper transit through printer. I have tried to compensate but it will never be perfect. Obviously you can print it any other way you like. Your work place may even have some funky badge holders instead. Any problems, let me know. Ben
  4. Ahhh, thought it was some kind of hybrid custom super duper morgan kit car jobby.
  5. NOT JEALOUS MUCH!!!!! Guess your forum name makes sense now It's bootiful. Ambition is by the time im 35, i'll be building one in the garage...
  6. Ok, how about we swap then? It'll brush up your skills a bit on the audi front. I honestly don't mind sacrificing my car to drive around in your lump of poop
  7. Think my starter motor is on the way out. I just want to verify before I start pulling things to bits under the bonnet. A few months back it started playing up, symptoms are getting in car (generally when in a rush) and turning key, all I get is a click. Lights, radio etc still function and do not 'dim' when under load (well, when getting the click). I can roll or push the car, slip it into second and dump the clutch - it then starts no problem. This happened each time I tried starting for about 3/4 days - then all of a sudden it just started working again. Now, a month later it is happening again. Turn the key and just get a click. Push or roll down hill and starts fine. It is an Audi A3. Happy to attempt removal and replacement myself but just wanted to verify diagnosis with real mechanics first. Assuming also it could be solenoid?!? On an old mini, I used to literally clean the brushes etc - is that still the case? Thanks in advance, Ben

    business cards

Only just seen post. Vista print do free cards but you have to put up with their logo on the back. But still, they are free!
  9. Posted Wednesday Simon so should have been with you yesterday really. Will probably arrive today then. Ben
  10. Yep, I have already sent them to Simon. Put them in the post before reading he won't be on a stand. I'll pop up a dowload for word and a PDF tomorrow. Would me good to put faces to names. Ben
  11. Hmmmm, just tried my mac and it is ok. Tried 4 seperate PCs - no good. Weird. Might be the version of acrobat I have installed on them. Ben
  12. Don't think it's encoded right norman, it doesn't open for me anyway. So I made my screen nice and big to see it. Looks yummy. Guess i'll go put my name down to come along Are we going with the hog (my favourite) or the xmas menu? Ben
  13. ...so you'll be doing your preflight checks a bit more thorough from now on

  15. At least you had someone telling you that. I must have looked a right twat, had my comms on too... surprised security (if they have any) didn't carry me away!
  16. Last one now, i'm sure people are getting bored.
  17. I bought one yesterday. Obviously not a good looking at the Sunnto, but does all the bits and bobs. Perfect for a secondary 'backup' I guess. Will probably only wear mine in flight, or maybe even velcro to flight deck. Who knows, not left the grounbd yet. Altimeter; I have no way of testing as don't have a vario. But, i'll get a map and see my elevation and work it out later on (apparantly, I am currently 804ft...no, now 797ft) above sea level. My feeling is it will be 'fairly' accurate. You can switch between feet and meters which is nice. You can also set height above sea level, you can set it to 'relative height' (setting to zero before take off) and also 1013.2 so does all the QNx's I think. You can also back track the last 22 hours and see height gain/loss. Height displayed in large digits, and you can choose between a smaller 'history' graph and also temperature as a secondary smaller display. Compass; This I have tested and after calibration (and a steady, horizontal hand) it seems accurate. Main display gives degrees in large digits and you get a 'pointer' around the bezel showing the four points. You can lock the compass into position and also reverse the heading. Calibration takes seconds. Two methods, twisty twisty keeping flat or by delimeter points. Baro; Not too sure really. Yesterday the little picture said no rain - it didn't rain. Today there is a rain cloud - and it has rained... Watch functions; standard time, date facility. Also option for second time zone. Two alarms. Countdown timer and stop watch. Backlit display. I also got some 'gel' heat pads (break the capsule inside, chemical reaction generates heat jobby). 2 pads for 99p. They do rectangle, stars and hearts for people like pete b. I also got the above ski/snowboard helmet...and look stupid in it - obviously. But, for the time being it will suffice for ground handling. It is rather big on my bonce, but would probably suit a real grown up. Ear flaps clip off, my comms headset fits snuggly inside with no obstruction what-so-ever. They also had what they called a 'snowboard top' which looked like a tight fitting, wicking layer of sorts. Would be good under your flight suit maybe...or in summer instead of. Didn't get one as run out of cash and didnt have card with me. Grand total...£44 including new shower head.
