  1. ... but the following label is incorrect. Obviously makes no diference to anybody but thought you should be aware Ben
  2. Well I was going to 'modify' my climbing harness. Surely if the clip in points are about the right place it'll do the same job?!? Thanks for the ideas. Ben
  3. Obviously Francis...as we all know that is where the majority of injuries are likely to occur (see, i'm getting there slowly but surely) Although, I was actually going to use my climbing lid initially...
  4. Got the wing minus harness so wondering if anybody out there has an old one kicking around that I can use for training purposes... Thanks, Ben
  5. Excellent, thank you Francis. I wasn't aware of Green Dragons so will look into that too. Thanks, Ben
  6. Thanks guys, As always, a wealth of information and knowledge. Maybe i'll ask him to get it checked by the loft then make an offer... Ben
  7. Hi guys, Second hand swing arcus going for sale, what should I pay? Cannot confirm hours or manufacture date but says still crispy. Small pin prick repairs. Bear in mind i'll have to send to the loft and get some sting/powerplay risers... Quick response would be great...cheers! Ben
  8. Hee hee, we must stop doing this David I'm not sure what happened, I didn't think it was ending anytime soon so assumed the guy took it off early. Slim pickings for us new guys to be honest. We'll keep in contact and hopefully won't outbid eachother Ben
  9. Looking at a motor on ebay. It says it's a H&E PXP 80... I know H&E is good...but confused at where these PXP lot come into the equation... Thanks in advance, Ben
  10. It already exists. It has to be true, I saw a similar one on TV... Some kid called Anakin riding it...

Good point. If the engine packs up or your gliding in on tickover...no sparkly lights. Take some pedals up with you?
  12. I have a very similar one. Folds up into 1/3rd the size. Very handy and nice and light too. I leave it in the boot usually.

Could we not use the kinetic energy from the prop to power a dynamo which inturn powers the strobe? I know the weight is negligible, but you wouldn't need to charge etc.. There would be plenty of power to run however many LEDs you wanted!
  14. Damn, do I go for motor or wing first? Was looking at the reaction or a revo...this is good price and just right size...but I have my eyes set on a top 80 at moment too.... Hmmmmm, decisions...it's one or tother!
  15. At first I thought you did a copy and paste from a strange google result - but in fact, you actually wrote that yourself! You have more time on your hands than me! Thank you Francis. If the ANO and airmap are the new and old testament, then surely you are this 'Paramotorist Bible' personified - maybe even the PPG God?!? Thanks
  16. Hmmmmmm, now you sounded a tad sarcastic there Brother Francis! I know the rules and at what height I can or can't fly in my area. My question was more basic, as in, what defines 'flying'. As in, if I walked into the field at the back of my house and did some ground handling and a big old gusty wind came and took me into the air, for say 50m and at around 5ft from the ground...am I flying and therefore breaking the air law?
  17. Again, forgive me ignorance.... I am right in amongst busy busy airspace (Luton CTA - I can almost see the runway from my garden. I am under the 'U' of RUSHMORE), my question is this; I work 2 minutes away from home on top of the highest hill around for as far as the eye can see. The place where I work has 200 acres of beautiful land, some of which is like a valley. One field either side of the small valley... surrounded at the top by very very tall trees so I would be flying below the tree line. Could I pass from one side to the other keeping low to the deck or would that be illegal? Cheers, Ben
  18. ...What is the benefit of this type of 'centrafugal' prop? http://www.razeebuss.com/machine.html? Ben
  19. Hi guys, I'll be keeping an eye on ebay but if any of you more experienced guys have any surplus kit laying around, do let me know. I'm looking for a basic setup for a beginner; wing/ground handling, paramotor (preferably a PAP1400...), GPS, Vario, Altimeter, wind sock, flight suit, flight deck, helmet, harness for training wing... the normal startup essentials really... I'm 5'8ish, 11.12st with blue eyes...I enjoy climbing, shooting and....oops sorry, wrong add Thanks for your help so far, Ben
  20. Now I have a problem of deciding if I go for area 6 or 8 as I think they will both include my 'local' area?!? I'm in Hitchin, near Stevenage... I'm thinking maybe 6?!? http://www.caa.co.uk/application.aspx?c ... ode=250map
  21. Excellent, thanks guys. I am a map person myself (dib dib dib dib) so will stick with an actual physical map to start out with. Then think about GPS, Jeppesen or memort-map when more experiences, or planning XC routes etc. although will always keep a hands on copy as the batteries can't run out on paper?!? With regards to the amendment process, is that a free update or just a notification? If it is purely a notification, should I wait for the new edition if it's imminent?!? Thanks for your advice, Ben
  22. Excellent, thanks Phil. What are your thoughts on memory-map? Or should I just stick with an actual 'physical' map? Ben
