  7. I have read on para2000 that the swing arcus is also known as the powerplay sting, however the specs are different, the swing has no mention of paramotors where as the sting has, does that mean the sting is an uprated version of the swing or is the swing just as good as the sting under power, are there actually any real difference between the 2? swing arcus http://www.para2000.org/wings/ powerplay sting http://www.para2000.org/wings/swing/powerplaysting.html cheers, Dave.
  8. Thanks for the info chaps, can they be flown hands off?
  9. as above, is this a good wing under power? its a DHV 1-2 certification would this make it suitable for a beginner? Thanks, Dave.
  10. It does indeed, from my quad biking days, so who are you, come on reveal yourself! I should add to this post that yesterday's flight was actually my 5th time in the air, its just that something went a little bit wrong in one way or another on the previous 4 so it spooked me for ages, a ton of ground handling and attempted launches taught me a lot! Yes, I'm still buzzing, was up at 6 this morning ready to go again but the ground was too wet and didn't wanna get my kit all shitted up, maybe tonight! Heres a clue, yellow ltz
  11. Well done Malc, I am just on the cusp of getting airbourne, just about nailed forward launchs and have a little work to do on my reverse launchs but am not far off. does the name Talcmalc rong a bell?
  12. some say that if you reveal the identity of the stig, they will have your eyes sucked out by a goat and replaced with some hot toffe apples and every time you look at page 3 of the sun you will only see an image of anne widicome naked
  13. only the true massieh would never reveal his identity
  14. you mean perry mcarthur, hes not been the stig for at least 2 years, they have used a number of peolple since him, mark webber, ben collins and damon hill have all been the stig at some time or another.
  15. Me and Andy went over to our usual training site last night to do a bit of ground handling, when we got there it was a bit windy to chance getting strapped into the harness, we could see the wether pattern wich was above us was moving away so until the wind dropped we decided to do a bit of kiting, heres some pics, the flash from the camera has made it look darker than it was
  16. I, like yourself was unsure wether to get "proper" training or just wing it so to speak, well I have now been training for about a month under a very good instructor and can honestly say without proper training you will struggle like hell to understand what it takes to get off the ground, a proper instructer will watch you as you learn and be able to give you little tips to speed your training wich you never would have worked out yourself, not only that but he will be able to give you tips on the best equipment to buy for your specific needs. like me you have proberly watched some of the videos on sites like youtube and thought "it dont look that hard, its just a case of running like hell". you will get to fly far quicker and safer once you have been tutored by an instructor, I can put you in touch with my instructor who teaches at westmill farm wich is on the A602 just outside stevenage so not too far from you. let me know if you would like more info on training.
  17. Thanks, Gaz, I am only 2 kgs heavier than you so the same may apply to me.

  22. Thanks for the info guys, I did a hang test and when fully seated the prop was tilted to far back at the top, I moved the adjusters back one hole wich seems fine it now tilts back a bit rather than a lot. thanks guys, I will get onto PAP for a manual.
  23. I have just purchased a Pap with the 2 arms that come out and the wing attachs to 2 karabiners wich in turn are attached to these arms, I am sure you have seen this system, my question is this, there are 4 holes on each arm, do I need to do a hang test to determin wich hole to use? How will I know if I have it set in the correct holes? thank in advance.
  24. A massive congratulations to all involved in this epic journey, like many I have been watching the updates and willing the guys on from start to finish, top job lads, outstanding, just outstanding.
