  1. The statement that stood out the most for me was 130 hours in 18 months and with the weather like it has been - my big fat 'OLD' hero Tony Thanks - I now stand corrected
  2. Matt / Shaun I'm not many miles from you. Still recovering, but hoping to be back in the air by April Keep me updated on your progress Tony
  3. Mark If you wish to travel a bit further West there is always me. I am just past Padstow and 6 miles from the coast. Tony
  4. Yes, stunning, crystal clear and clean shots.
  5. Any body had a play with this camera? Tony
  6. Thanks Christian I did my BHPA PG Hill with the guys. The instructors were really good, good laugh, knowledgable and you felt safe with them. Accommodation was very good, the only down side was they time keeping was a bit off (30 minutes late, but stayed until dark) and a bit of selling at the end of the course. Also, there is a riding school close by for your sister. Well, thanks again and good luck Tony
  7. Try googling Flyspain. There are in Spain and I think BHPA certified. Tony
  8. I absolutely agreed, the month of November is one of the best months, but unfortunately I've been hit with the dreaded 'C'. I got the results the day before the last fly-in - with a 10cm growth. Thats why there was a no-show from me for the first time. Some good news was I went for a whole body CT scan last week and the cancer was only found in the right kidney, so I'm booked in on the 22th Oct to have it removed. And I'll be a few half a pound lighter. So, for the first time I need to put the motor away. Last Saturday was my last day of flying this year, so I filled a 20 litre Jerry can up and my aim was to stay on the field until it was empty. I returned on my last flight with a drop of fuel just before sunset. Followed by a curry, few beers and watched England lose the rugby - well everything can't be great. Again, the month of November is one of the best so anybody wanting to fly down here and I am able - you're more than welcome. Tony
  9. Cheers Simon - it should (I hope) only be until Feb/Mar time.
  10. I know it sounds weird, but I'm putting my motor away now until early next year. So what is the best procedure for storing a motor in a dry ish garage? I've planned to empty the fuel, take off spark plug and put a couple of drops in and turn it over a couple of times. Lastly un-plugged the battery. The wing and electrical stuff will be put in a bedroom. Anything else?? Cheers
  11. I'm guessing Bude (Davidstow, North Cornwall) is too far SW?
  12. Pete OK cheers. I'll trace the leads back and check the connection.
  13. Update New battery came today and swapped over and fired up first time (even after me putting it back together again!!) So good news all round, but Started it up and sounded normal, but it was difficult to turn OFF. I had to leave my finger on the button for about 15 seconds before it stopped. It has got a slightly fast tick over, but it has always had one and gave me no problems before. I done such a good job trying to get it started and now I can't turn it off Obviously my plan was to go flying later on this evening - any ideas??? Tony (with motor still running (joke) )
  14. Simon - Sorry I missed your call. I was on the beach then went for a meal on the way home - like you do in Cornwall Living my (non-flying) dream in Cornwall Tony
  15. Simon This is not the case. When I took my motor to Parajet a few years ago the guys removed the on board charging thingy. So now I remove the battery and charge it separately. (after problems with my battery at a fly-in) Now I think my charger is not charging the battery correctly (my old RC Li-po charger) so I decided not to purchase a separate charger and go back to the old type (I have a few chargers and understand the tech more ) So I order a 'Lucas YT4LBS Motorbike Battery' for £15.44 and try to get the on board charging system to work again. I am hoping this is my problem and it is not the starter motor now!!!!! Tony (hoping )
  16. Gary To be honest, my plan was to take the SM off and have a look, but I failed - I could not find anyway to remove it!!!! Then I saw the loose connection 'maybe' and with the sudden moment of the SM I was hoping it was something else. So I re-assembled the motor in hope. So I am not sure.................
  17. Cheers gazzer04 You can't be 100% sure, but I think all the connections are solid. I did squeeze the 'tits' tighter I checked the voltage when I pressed the start button and it read 13v !!!!!! Tony
  18. Update Checked the voltage on the starter motor and it looked OK. (note: and the battery) So started to take the SM off to have a look inside. After taking the exhaust off and loosing the belt I was still unable to gather how it came bloody off. (Give my VBA programming any day ) I noticed that the red lead to the starter motor was loose - so I guessed that was the problem. Re-assembled the motor and tried again - I 'think' the SM engaged then stopped and the relay clicking noise started again. I checked the battery level and it was LOW. I know when I checked it before I took the machine apart it was good!!! The battery is a Li-Po one with a built in test level Now - I know the SM made a noise briefly and the clicking started again (I think this happen before). So is it the battery not holding a charge, the starter motor or something else???? Any help guys please - the weather is looking good down here tomorrow too. Please note my machine is a Mark 1 Volution Many thanks Tony
  19. Cheers Simon / Patrick. I checked a Youtube vid from BlueskyPPG.com and it explains it pretty well. I will open the thing up and have a look.
  20. Patrick I do remember you had problems with yours in the past. I'm guessing my starter motor is the original one - so it's not that bad really Many thanks for the info. When my guests depart I'll be straight on it. It is a shame, because the last few days it has been really great flying weather down here. Even one down to Padstow and back Cheers and I'll let you know when I deconstruct my motor................ Tony It was that good reply - I sent it twice

  22. Had a nice flight - thought I had no problems with the motor. Nice Landing, had a break, coffee and a wee break. Got all the kit back on, helmet, radio & GPS ready, wing down and ready to go. Motor on my back - connect to the wing. Pressed the tit and felt a right tit - 'Click'. Pressed again 'Click' Had a quick look and a few taps on the starter motor, but no obvious things to note!!! Went home... Any help guys? I re-charged the battery, had a closer look, but still the same. Pressed the start button and click. It sounds like it is coming from the reply switch. The motor does not turn at all - just get the click. Any ideas would be really grateful, since I am mechanically 'dumb' it is hard to find the problem... Motor as per my profile...............
  23. Sorry, been off site for a few days - visiting the lovely North Cornish rocky Coast lines :lol PM sent to FixFrenchFlyer
  24. Not really, only at Camelford, which is open to me all year round. re: my kit - Yes, but my Volution is the mark 1 version and the Synth is the older type. So, a bit posher than mine I'm afraid Tony
