  1. If in the future somebody (god forbid) kills themself on a wing that the manafacturer says sew your tip steering line to the stabilis to maybe prevent it moving....who will be responible the owner or the manafacturer......will he turn around and say he couldnt sew properly....I personally think this is a major cop out.....I am sure in any other form of aviation it wouldnt be taken as lightly as .... (oh sew it) ..... Paramania need to supply the wing with two part lines .....its your option then to fit the steering then.....(simples).....the knot will slip in time maybe not a first but it will slip (on some).......Ive sorted mine (well Aerofix did ) and I got the lines next day.....after explaining what I wanted to do.......they said to me that sewing a extra line to the stabilis line was not the best option....and advised me to make it in two parts with the option of fitting a third line......makes sence.....after all it splits into four parts at the top......Remember its YOUR LIFE DO WHAT YOU NEED TO DO to keep it that way ......with or without the manafacturers blessing I wonder that at the next european safety seminar hosted by Paramania this issue will be raised (maybe not)
  2. So there you go........Ive passed the mod that Ive done to Paramania and this forum .....plenty of feed back from this forum but no responce from Paramania at all .. ...shh....nobody will get hurt.....(hope)... .Get it sorted PARAMANIA......its a great wing ....dont kill somebody because your too proud to improve it.......
  3. I reckon you might have to pay road tax get a mot and insurance ,,,of course you could switch off the engine pretend you were peddling whilst carrying the paramotor when you pass the police car in the fast lane......
  4. I used the prusik knot and it slid ! and it was pulled tight.......but the problem is that you have to keep checking the knot and pulling it tight ....On the flight that it moved I did not give it a pull to check its tightness..But whilst flying merrily along I noticed it as I took in the scenery getting very close to the gage as it looped back in the wind and was able to pull it away a little ... ..Question is what would have happend if I had not noticed it and it caught the prop....I suspect I would have done a spiral that Raul Rodriguez would have been proud of .....On my or anybodys £2500 + wing you should not be having to tie knots to attach a steering system....it should be a Mandatory Modification.....before somebody gets Killed
  5. And remember if you fit the tip steering........watch that the line doesnt slip down and get in your prop.. ..!! Mine wont anymore
  6. I find it best to keep my eyes closed throughout the whole flight take some pictures then look where Ive been once Im safe on the ground again
  7. LETS keep everybody informed that somebody has flown over this festival ......and he was breaking the law....lets keep going on about it ....lets shout it from the roofs......on the other hand dont ......s u u c c h h h .....lets just keep it to ourselfs and hope nobody with any authority gets to know of this stupidity.........perhaps he was having engine problems....
  8. I reckon you should stick with a powered forward launch.....ps ....Dont think you will need a wing just hold your hands out wide.. pps one of my old paramotors set on fire while while I was flying it !!!! so I may have some experience with something very hot on my back and unable to do much about it on the other hand count me out
  9. What you need is a left handed throttle ? so you can operate the camera with the right hand....... and still have some control of your paramotor All cameras including videos seem to think we are all right handed....Think about it My pap has been converted to a left hand.....I find it suits me ...... Ps I had a panasonic fz28 after 3 months it stopped working Panasonic said it had suffered water ingress and was not covered by warranty....they said I must have put it underwater A cop out if ever there was......Ive got a olympus SLR now 1 yr no problems...
  10. WHATS GOIN ON everybodys quitin I just carnt imagine a life without flying ......its what I LIVE FOR..... Have you ever just burst out laughing at 3,000ft just unable to get your head around what your doing and are able to do its unbeliveable the places and sights that our little machines are able to give us we are so so so lucky .......(mines a PAP) ,,, My God I sound Like a Preacher..Mind you Ive been to Heaven and got Back it took (1hr 20 mins) for those that are interested
  11. Oh forgot to mention The paramotor is a pap ros125 with a Fusion or a Skywalk scotch..... My driving and riding have suffered since I started to Fly as at road junctions and lights I look left right and then UP Too Many toys not enough Hours
  12. Dont think my bike would interest you.........its a KLR 650....its ideal for pot holes though My Sky Bike is a Blade... ...Though its not a Honda .. ....its a Mainair
  13. Perhaps you should think of paramotoring as a Bike in the Sky with no speed traps.... ....cars pulling out white lines slippy grids the list goes on My bike sits in the garage most of the year doesnt get used much at all....... On the other hand my paramotor and microlight get used all the time ( its on another level ) youve made me think about selling the bike
  14. Theres more chance of you dying tomorrow on a bike
  15. Hey when I bought my Fusion the other week (Skydragons) I was supposed to get either a t-shirt or cap free but didnt so I should get one before you !!! they say there out of stock .....a very likely story.....mind you they were out of fusion stock as well when I ordered one so it may be true.....
  16. And you know I desperately need a set looks like youve got good little earner on your hands
  17. A major improvement to the safety of the fusion ??? I fitted the wing tip stearing using the correct knot ......and it works.....for a while then unless you check it every single time it can start to slip down the stabilis line.....and make a big loop of excess line that comes Dangerously close to the prop.....this has also happened to some of my mates who fly Revoutions.....and apparently this system of securing the tip stearing line has allready caused some accidents (apparently) *****SO IVE IMPROVED THE FUSION ****** Ive made the stabilis lines in two parts ie with a loop connection 1 mtr up from the riser to which now the tip stearing line can be fitted if you want to Simple ideas are sometimes the best......what concerns me a little bit is how come I had to think of this.......... perhaps its because I operate on another level
  18. He manages to get that sort of flight duration by landing on the outward leg........then blagging some fuel that was by rights going to be put in a microlight.. ....and returns with that....... nuff said
  19. Good Idea Ive got access to a sewing machine now all Ive got to do is find a wife who can sew....
  20. fusion stuff sack ......I am not keen on it ....why Because when you pull the cord to close it up you have to be so so so carefull not to trap parts of the wing in the chrome rings and then pull bits of wing through them .. ...It needs the cord to be covered the whole way round the stuff sack so this can-not happen.... ...so any body know of one..... ...? or do I make my own.... the two reasons why I need a stuff sack are I am l lazy....and no matter how hard I try those flexy fusion batten things refuse to let me fold it
  21. I learnt to fly my microlight (flexwing) at Barton airport manchester the landing approach took you straight over the m62 to land or over a load of flats a very dense built up area and the high level manchester ship canal motorway bridge near the Traffod center ....nobody ever complained (those were the Days),,,,,,and sometimes I had to avoid the trucks perhaps I should have reported their driving to the Police and some of the low flying the airforce get up to from around here needs to be seen to be believed.....ps my own horses are not bothered by my antics when taking off or landing my paramotor....they just get on with life and have never told me to stop or complained to the police
  22. Backwards does not count remember to keep left at all times as there could be a faster vehicle behind you
  23. Got a new paramotor wing a fusion 26 ......total all up weight around 115 kg .....total hrs around 300.....my views on the fusion after 8 take off and landings.......after reading everything I could about the fusion I expected a hot ship when I got air borne ..I found the turns slow.....yes slow.. ...everybody else says its quick to turn ??? my Skywalk Scotch will run rings around it....but thats a hybrid glider.....so that was a bit of disapointment .. ..another thing I read was its quick to respond to input....again I found it slow....compaired to my scotch......time then to get heavy handed with my new toy......yes it will turn quick ( not super quick) but quick enough to live with but with a lot more effort than I am used to so I need to apply some more muscle....I can and will get used to that.....when the trimmers are set to fast though thats when I started to fall in love with this wing it really is the Bollocks and it suprised me turning ok on the tip stearing with a bit of weight shift....(.Pap ros 125...)..this is where it just would leave my old wing for dead.....and buried....and it smooths out all those little bumps and things and I find myself yahoo ing to myself..whilst flying ,,, ,,,I can and will go places on this wing.... landings are a doodle (take off trim)...... it feels solid in the air and I felt happy that it was not going to suprise me after the first few seconds ,, (and it was not the nicest of air to fly in) another thing that I noticed was on inflation the wing tips stayed in untill it was well on its way up....it did not seem to effect anything but I did notice it.....dont know why paramania recomends 40+ hrs before you should consider this wing ......perhaps its packing it up afterwards.....I tried and tried to pack it up the same way as it came from the factory to no avail.....1/2hr later it sits proudly in a stuff sack....Ive bought some weights to build up my arm strength ....and it looks like the start of a long and loving relationship.....but one that needs a heavy hand now and then
  24. Never been to the South island ? everybody says I should ! but its the North Island for me ....Ive been there every year since 2000 so its no 8 for me this year ...So I am Doing my bit for global warming ????
