  1. I can't say I used it at all, but there is a setting in user control panel>profile>edit posting defaults to switch it on. Obviously, I've just selected on, so I guess if I get a reply to this I should get an email. personally, I just check for new posts quite frequently. hope this helps and yes, i'm up early...
  2. what browser are you using mate? the url is just http://www.paramotorclub.org/auction/ the only reason i can think of is because of a setting in your browser? Maybe 3rd party cookies or something. hope this helps Al
  3. I've just bid on them fine for me it was a case of follow the link at the top.. SIGN INTO THE AUCTION SITE TOO. (even though i was signed in here i made sure I signed into the auction site as well). found the gloves, bid on them, (wasn't high enough as simon i think bid the same amount just before me) and then rebid. no problem, no dramas, it just did it.
  4. I can see your profile but no PM button. I could see both of sticky's in your previous post. hope this helps
  5. i think it's been working for me for quite a while now.
  6. Welcome to the forum Keiran. Can't see the vid on my iPad (might need to be enabled for mobile devices). Loads of flyers in your neck of the woods. Enjoy Al
  7. Welcome to the forum Neil. I'm further south than you but there's quite a few in your area. Research is the key and it looks as if you're doing plenty of that. The adventure begins. Al
  8. could be customs import duty. I'd check firstly with your dealer and secondly with fed-ex. best of luck. al

  11. you forgot the manic laugh and the it is ALL MINE!!! nice one.... not long now..
  12. Thats really not fair... most people are responsible and make sure they are insured, and some uninsured idiot crashes into you... there is no justice. indeed unfair. young girl decides to pick up her new (2nd hand) car and thinking she doesn't need insurance to drive it home, promptly proceeds to drive the wrong way around a roundabout and total my car. Didn't get a penny compensation, just my insured losses (car). everything else was at my expense as they couldn't get any money out of her (being 18 yrs old and a student). Am I bitter? not really, little point. but it's a lesson learned. This was 4 years ago. Didn't even get to hear what the courts handed down as the police couldn't be bothered to inform me of anything even though I asked.
  13. I think you'll find that ganers made the point. If you're driven into (ie: no fault) then it's irrelevent what your insurance company covers as you'll be making a claim against the insurance company of the driver who caused the accident (if they're insured). It doesn't matter what it is you're carrying, you only have to prove its value (receipt or invoice) and claim that. Think about all the uninsured losses (time of work etc etc.) You need to check yours if you intend to claim for damage to your own equipment etc (loss more than likely) of goods/possessions carried. but what do i know? nothing. I had a car written off by an uninsured driver and it's done nothing but cost me money. ho-hum..
  14. 4.5M watching it on YouTube. that's NOT inc the other live b'casts.
  15. sign up for the free stuff. TAF's and METARS are good to look at and learn from. There's plenty of other free stuff on the web too. Most have weather apps on their phones and the MK1 eyeball is a pretty good indicator too. There's also some regular weather briefings on here too but they're more general in coverage. for area specifics you're as well just perusing the net and seeing whats' what. the ballooning forecast is good too (balloons like similar weather). hope this helps al
  16. Mike, the bulk of the Met Office stuff is free to join and use. There are some premium services but you'll not need these yet. Hope this helps Al
  17. take a look http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/7/EIS%2002.pdf There's lot elsewhere too. Al
  18. Economies of scale AND you really want to trust the piece of kit you're strapped to if you're a few thousand feet up... There are some great British manufacturers.. Personally, I wouldn't be scrimping on something that important.
  19. you're doing the right thing on here. Just keep asking. Someone will pipe up with a response if they're anywhere nearby.
  20. Mike, you might want to start keeping an eye on the weather. You'll soon learn when there's a possibility of flying activities. As for doing things without spending? There will be fly-ins or people flying nearby throughout the year, you can always ask to pitch up to say hi, be nosey and see what goes on. Most people will be only too happy to let you watch, talk with you about what they do. Hope that helps. Al
  21. 15 turning 16 in Nov. Mike, have to +1 this. Save the cash and the equipment. Get training.. spend time with people and get a feel for the sport. best of luck to you, it's great to see such passion. Al
