  1. [youtubevideo][/youtubevideo] I think you hit the y/tube button and insert your link between the brackets.....missus
  2. I love the audience 'participation', either intentional or not!! Prefer this for hilarity though...
  3. Tom, is yours the Volution 1 model without the netting? Just been in garage checking mine, and your throttle hand would have to be way back to catch the prop. Maybe the cable could bend into such a shape as to push through the netting, if fitted.
  4. Just looking at the pictures there of the sliced cable. How did it manage to get so far back near the prop, the break is right up near the throttle grip?? I could understand if it was down the other end of the cable.
  5. So, there I was just settling down to my morning cappucino when Postman Pat rolls up in his little red van. 0800 hrs exactly. I was at the door before he even got his van door open. Such a small package, but it meant so much!! Oh and Steve, I DID have my speedo's on as well.... So, BIG THANKS to DAN at Parajet for getting this out. The Parajet service lives up to its reputation.
  6. Oooh, is that a low pressure heading this way?? Thanks Phil... Youre off the pie list now matey.
  7. All clipped in ready to rock.....forward launch styleee. Just glad the fabric didn't play house party!! All part of the learning curve.
  8. So, there I was, after nearly 2 good days of getting my ground handling back up to scratch. Motor on back, wing laid out, and following the instructions of my instructor. "Right now 'pie man', bring the revs up to full throttle and brace against the thrust, don't let it twist you. Lean into the thrust....." At this point, I was starting to get close to being unbalanced, so lowered the revs and settled down to rev up the motor again. In amongst this process, I had slightly stepped backwards and created some slack in the lines. This in itself was not a problem, with arms out wide. The problem occured when I twisted slightly to the right and the fun began... The now slack 'ish' set of left hand risers took a fancy to the furiously spinning prop. They decided to get sucked in through the only section of cage that Parajet decided not to cover in netting, and make sweet music with the drive belt (sliced clean in half) and the prop hub. Lucikly the motor was killed before the wing had time to join the party.... I think the pics speak for themselves. Now for the customer service bit. A frantic phone call was made to 'The Loft' out near Lewes and they kindly agreed to take a look when I dropped it off at 12 midday. http://www.theloftworkshop.co.uk/ Mobile rings at exactly 4pm, and the wing has been repaired and all lines checked/compared etc. 10 lines in all and a clean bill of health - unlike my flying attempts. NOW THAT HAS TO BE THE BEST SERVICE I HAVE EVER COME ACROSS. The price, well to me, customer service like that is priceless!! They'll get my custom for any wing work. Please note, I do not lay the blame on anyone but myself. Oh, and that un-netted space in the frame. Which will be dealt with ASAP!! This is the third time this has happened on this brand of motor to different people.... Lines went in between tank and frame.. Spare line anyone?? Just waiting for a new drive belt now....
  9. Yep, second the thankyou Seymore! And its not me who wants to steal yer dog...........
  10. Si, his was a 'track hack' with 570 engine. Scruffy as you like but damm quick. This is mine, just Swarbricks and suspension upgrades....
  11. Great vid Phil, I spent Saturday stripping a wing loom out of a mates RG 500. Sorted by about 6.30pm!!
  12. Why are they not 'staggered' to reduce the effect of turbulance upon the turbines downwind?
  13. "i have contacted Parajet and they suggested to adjust the two 10mm nuts on the cable but this has not sorted it out". That'll be the legendary Parajet service then! I'm only over in Shoreham if you want to pop over some time and see what I had to do with my throttle 'alignment' issues. My throttle lever does go back further into the handle, so the last little hole is almost covered in the body! Steve.
  14. Now this guy has style.... http://www.sol.no/klipps/video/dette_ha ... kke_sa_det
  15. Thanks mark, just need to make 27,000 pies in a week then i can play!!
  16. No Mark, my instructor has taken it upon himself to sod off to the Maldives of all places!! He deserves the break after suffering my feeble attempts at trying to fly..... Wish I was flying, as I would be down the road with you guys on Thursday. Hence my indifference at the mighty P/jet 'illusion'.
  17. Maybe that's why they sell them to us at such reasonable prices. We are expected to sort out all the things they can't be arsed to do!! I mean, it's only aviation, what could possibly go wrong.....
  18. No, the bolts did not come like that. Just a brand new drill bit and steady drilling in the vice, holes deburred afterwards with a countersink bit. The ends of the lockwire are twisted for about 3-5 turns then just tucked into the socket of the bolt head. Its the one sitting at about 3 o'clock in the pics. Si, page 8 of my owners manual states in step 4 "Finally tighten each bolt with equal torque HAND TIGHT ONLY (be careful not to over tighten and crush the carbon fibre propeller hubs). Now maybe I'm being a bit thick here, but could someone explain the principle of obtaining the 'equal torque' setting - by hand?! Do you wait until the cracking of carbon fibre strands is heard, or add 1/8th further turns after this lovely crackling noise? For a rotating part that is crucial to the safety of all concerned on a 'flying machine', do you consider the instructions adeqate? Yes, I did tighten the bolts until the spring washers were laying flat under the heads of the bolt. The numerous 'issues' I had with this, a £4000 new machine, I would rather not hijack this thread with. But suffice to say, it has not even been flown yet....... Not having a dig at you personally Si, but needless to say, Parajet would probably not be on my next 'buy new' machine.
  19. This is what I did to my Friday Parajet bolts after they decided to loosen up after only being run in the back garden for 8 minutes. These bolts are already supplied with spring/lock washers and they were all tightened only a couple of days before this test run. I cannot believe that of all the motors I have looked at do not really seem to have much lockwiring on them? Especially on such vital fixing points. It just seems to be the exhaust retaining springs and thats it! I appreciate its not the 100% standard way of lockwiring multiple bolts, but it does the job.
  20. I've just noticed the Cola bottle fuel tanks in the 'cockpit'!!! It gets better......
  21. That may be so Si, but Steve does sarnies. And he's gonna get a disco mirror ball in his sha,,,,g I mean parawagon!!
