  1. OH! ....... my mistake ....... how could I have missed that glowing endorsement at the very bottom of the page added on as like an afterthought .... and it's not even the company's endorsement, it's Dells ..... kinda reads like: 'Glider Cima K2 is very popular also for wiping your ass. Please look at some videos from major ass wipe Dell Schanze in Videos folder." I apologise to all K2 fliers, I really have no idea on whether the wing is any good or not. I just detest the way Dell does business so there's a bit of 'guilty by association' ....... I must have too much time on my hands right now because I'm wasting ink commenting on Dell! sowwy:)
  2. Nige do you not find it odd that the manufactures website makes absolutely no mention of the K2 as a 'paramotor' wing. Not one word, not one picture!!! I'm no aeronautical engineer but I can guess that there are some different forces involved with paragliding as opposed to powered paragliding ....... things that make you go hmmmmmmm:)
  3. I don't have too much to compare it to Aqua but it sure feels like I'm flyin the best stuff out there. I started last year foot launching a Paratoys package consisting of a Blackhawk 120 HE. It was quite adequate stuff for learning on. Had lots of back trouble over the winter and got diagnosed with Osteoarthritis in the hip so decided to go with a buggy. For those of you that want a foot flying experience with the ease of a buggy launch I can't imagine anything better than the Carbon Cruise. It's so light and compact! The front tire just catches the bottom of your peripheral vision but other than that you wouldn't know the buggy was there. Thanks again for the tip on the risers. I've had two incredible flights since then! dd
  4. I did as Aqua said and was done in about 10 minutes - thanks! dd
  5. Thanx Aqua and the rest of use guys. It makes sense not to disconnect the risers, less chance of something going wrong. Just to clarify, I was on about my 10th flight with my new Nirvana Cruise Carbon trike, Rodeo motor and Nucleon wing. The trike actually has a brake so I thought I would see what would happen if I applied the brake after landing thinking the wing would nicely lay down in front of me ..... nope .... the Nucleon works as advertised! It will not overfly you. It stalled directly overhead, then gently settled down on top of me. You can imagine what a mess it was. After much effort I thought I had got out of it without any problem. It was getting dark so I didn't check .... and I always clip my risers together on the outside of the bag. I'm located in Southern Ontario, Canada if anybody wants to come help:) Why am I on this forum. Paramotoring is fairly unknown around here. I know of only one other flier within 200 kilometers of me. dd
  6. The last time I landed, the wing(Dudek Nucleon) came down right on top of me when I came to a stop, it was a bit of a mess, lines all around me. I thought it was fine when I put it away but I just went to fly and the risers on one side are all twisted, tangled??? Don't ask me how:( I've been kitesurfing for 10 years and have untangled a few bridles but this is a little different and the manual doesn't help too much. If I take each line off one at a time, pull it through and reattach it there's not too much that can go wrong is there. Any suggestions, tips? please & thank you dd
  7. Mounted my new Contour GPS on my helmut for a flight but didn't like all the movement ..... can't stop moving my head around so much .... then tried mounting it above the front wheel of my Nirvana Carbon Trike. Loved the location and the image and could pan the camera left to right with my feet but getting too much vibration. Any thoughts on how to mount and dampen down the vibration? thanks dd
  8. wow, that looks like it should do the trick. Did you drill those bolts yourself? They didn't come like that did they?? I can see how you started the thread but how did you finish ... what kind of knot did you use??
  9. As for the pattern of tightening the bolts I see the importance of opposite pairs on a solid, 1 piece prop but the Rodeo has 3 individual blades ... do you think it still makes a difference?
  10. Brand new Nirvana Rodeo with 3 bladed prop. Ran 5 liters of gas through it in driveway just checking things out and breaking it in a little bit. Afterwards I was shocked to find every single propeller bolt loose and 3 were visibly backed out at least 1 cm. Obviously I cranked them down on assembly. I'm fairly new to the sport and find it very disconcerting to think what might have happened if I had been in the air and one of those blades cut loose. Please tell me this is just a break in thing and I don't have to worry about bolts coming loose with just a half a tank of gas of use. Again I cranked them down pretty tight, can't imagine any tighter before starting to strip things. I transport my machine in a trailer so don't have to disassemble it after every use. Would you recommend using locktight on the bolts? Any other suggestions besides the obvious(tightening them down harder)?? thanks:) dd
  11. I was having an incredible kitesurfing session on the water this morning when it suddenly occurred to me ..... why can't my paragliding wing have an inflatable leading edge and struts like my kite does. The negligible increase in weight and drag can easily be overcome by a little extra power and there would be no chance of frontal collapses or cravats. I can't be the first to think of this ... what am I missing .... besides a degree in aeronautical engineering. dd
  12. Thanks Jeff, that's kinda the answer I was hoping for!
  13. I've never seen a buggy with a speed bar. The speed bar usually comes with the harness and most buggies have a permanent seat. I'm fairly MacGyver like and could probably cobble something together but would prefer if I could get someone else to test it for me:) I guess what I'm asking is, is it still worth getting a reflex wing if I can't apply the speed bar??? thanks
  14. I'm thinking of upgrading to the Dudek Nucleon but do to a back injury I'm currently forced to use a buggy. I hope to return to foot launch one day but in the meantime is it possible to get maximum benefit out of a reflex wing without using a speed bar? ... would there be another way to activate the speed bar without the use of your feet?? Very much appreciate any input! digidydawg
