  1. Had this on my first and second ever paramotor flights! Possible causes - 1) Plug cap worn oval and loose due to vibration 2) Unmetered air entering the system when warm (cracked or warped head or damaged head gasket) 3) Unmetered air entering below carb as carb retaining bolts too long (tight when checked with an allen key but carb still loose) 4) Carb needs cleaning or service. Good luck. Best regards, Ian. p.s. Any news on the battery???

That's a good price! I'm getting one of these as a cheap but warm flying suit - http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/dickies-padded-waterproof-overall-blue-xl/path/overalls-workwear-2 Ian.

  8. But bailer twine is the most useful and strongest rope known to mankind! Almost as useful as gaffer tape, WD-40 and cable ties. Ian
  9. Hi Hadders and welcome. I fly (feels like I should say flew with all this shite weather we've been having!) in Kent and have access to fields near Maidstone, Sheppey and the Romney Marsh. I also did some free flight training prior to being taught by a local instructor (pm sent) Please feel free to give me a call on (07949) 988770 if you would like to get in touch. Best regards, Ian.

    Mind blowing vid

So that's how to deal with the supposedly rising sea levels. Dig big holes on the coast and then let the sea fill them in!!! Ian.
  11. Careful or you will get a reputation as a wing whore. Lol! If you get just 2 from each manufacturer you will have more than enough for a different wing for each day of the week!!! What motors are you looking at??? Ian.

Hi Pete. I'm not sure what's currently available but I have had a Samsung NC10 for nearly a year and love it! With anything computer based I am resigned to the fact that there will always be something better coming out next week/month/year! If I need a bit of kit and am happy with the current price and capability of the existing unit then I just go for it. I use it as my main PC for work and play and can honestly say that I don't miss anything from previous full size laptops or PC's. With it's small size/weight and the 3G dongle it lives in my briefcase and goes everywhere that I do (although the recently acquired iPhone has started to take over a bit!) The only thing which it doesn't have onboard is a DVD drive but I just use a slimline usb one on the rare occasion that it's required. Good luck! Ian.
  15. It was also great to see a positive piece on shooting by the very pleasant Julia Bradbury, who went pheasant shooting and then cooked and ate what she had shot. Ian.
  16. Nice video Pete. Made me laugh out loud. Especially when I noticed that the explosion made the lights come back on and change the guys T-Shirt! Hope y'all have a great evening! Rgds Ian
  17. I agree! Normans page measures up to his usual, impeccable standards!!! A stark contrast to the "Powered paragliding bible". I enjoyed and learnt a lot from this book but found the spelling, grammatical and editing errors very distracting. I would still recommend it over "Paramotoring from the ground up" which I found to be very basic. Worth reading as many books as you can get your hands on as there are nuggets of info which are different in each one. Best regards, Ian.
  18. I don't know about my day........... If one came close to me, that alone would be enough to mess up my trousers!
  19. The 4 second 0-60 figure is only achieveable when it's being pushed by a yummy mummy on her way into the new year sales!!!
  20. If I was flying a fast jet I wouldn't want to hit a Parajet. They are made STRONG! Ian.
  21. In the UK I have found that there is a large (and growing) devergence between paragliding and paramotoring both from a general interest and an equipment perspective, especially with the development of reflex profiles. Perhaps in the USA they are happier to overload a standard paraglider wing by swinging a paramotor under it. From what I have seen we tend more to have "horses for courses" in the UK. There will always be an exception to the "norm" and in time they may come on here with a response. Best regards, Ian.
