  1. If they are the same profile, pitch, etc..... Then don't see a problem apart from a possibility that it might require some minor balancing. Have you spun the combination up on your motor? Have you checked that the two motor re-dive combinations use the same e-prop?
  2. EasyVFR or maybe PPgps if you are more interested in flying than dicking around LK8000 if you have huge amounts of time to learn its functions and set it up to your liking (hard to beat but it is a handful getting to know it) Try them
  3. If you have the time and some skill with a soldering iron you could build an Airwhere Kobo..... Think i paid £40 for the Kobo and maybe another £40 on components This version has a vario with sounds It takes some effort though
  4. There are but you might end up paying a premium for one I have a Garmin 60csx... it displays glide ratio and I put an airspace map into it so although not "flight-specific" it has flight functions. I have lost touch with all the latest tech... if you have plenty of money to throw at the problem, then it ought to be reasonably easy to cover your bases
  5. If I am ever up your way, I'm getting a brew out of you and a tour!! I bet you are one of those grumpy old bastards who is only any good at making shit, teaching and being a grandad Believe it or not, I have seven mic's METRIC!!! Couple of digital... My eyes are going One good set of clippers and a stack of shit ones Cant stand imperial... even the lathe is metric My favorite measuring tools are a set of cheap telescopic gauges.... no idea why but I love using them
  6. Ah, I was assuming calipers, everyone has calipers, even our man Matthew now has calipers... He will soon forget what the world was like without calipers!
  7. Yep, that too (forgot that one, its a must) I have the Garmin C60sx... it has an old out of date airspace map on it but I never use it... just the one page giving me the essentials (have a Kobo mini running LK8000 for airspace)
  8. I usually pinch one bolt with the calipers, zero it then take the measurement... no math's
  9. Splendid Just make sure you confirm the bolt pattern and hole in the pop center and it ought to be all smiles.... until your next bad landing
  10. Not sure how many might agree with me.... The one thing I keep tabs on more than any other is my ground speed followed by altitude and bearing so for me, any GPS, even a very simple cheap item would satisfy my particular taste. (Most of my flying is powered so the vario rarely sees sunlight) Any sort of digital airspace map is very very nice if you are into longer xc flights but that can keep as long as you know your local airspace. A pair of electric knickers might take number one spot once winter kicks in
  11. pattern -centre is 25 mm This is the hole in the center of the propeller... easy enough to measure you old prop.
  12. No (unless I banged my head)... Pretty sure its the diameter.... PLEASE put me right if I have lost it
  13. Soooo.... assuming we have all our ducks in a row..... Dear DT Propellers, can I have a 130cm propeller for a Simonini mini 2 plus (2.34 redrive 6xM8x75 bolt pattern) So to confirm the bolt pattern (we already know there are six bolts), put two opposing bolts in, measure the outside of two opposing bolts and minus 8mm (assuming the bolts are 8mm diameter... they look like it from here)
  14. Ahhhhhh! Calipers, even cheap ones.... I feel sooooo much better 6XM8X75 ---- that is Six bolts of M8 (metric bolt designation) with 75mm diameter
  15. As long as you are suffering alongside me, I can take it
  16. .........? I'm not getting 5 1/8 inch looking at that. Are you based in America? What's with the caveman tape rule? You don't make life easy. 2 1/8 inch puts us in the middle of two standard Simonini min 2 pullies @53.975mm instead of 53mm or 55mm. Simonini seems to have put quite a bit of effort into dicking around with very minor ratio options and I'm struggling with the logic. A standard large pulley for the mini 2 plus is supposed to be 129mm (5.08 inch) and I'm not seeing that in your measurement's. I am going to have to defer this one and hope someone highlights where I am going wrong.... HELP!
  17. I "think" the slop is somewhat critical, too much and it can allow a resonant vibration to begin transferring torque across that gap via the "shim". One guy added a fiber washer to act as a damper preventing the resonance taking hold... not sure how long that would last. Looking at your photos, the wear looks like it might slowly increase slop until it hits the sweat spot where a sympathetic resonance can take hold of the system and self-destruct in very short order.
  18. So it is something of value worth protecting We are arguably lower impact than dog walkers, mountain bikes, horse riders.... But, we are a big shiny target for the misanthropic opportunist side of the human condition to take aim at... We are stuck playing defense in our attempts to be nothing more than another group making use of our countryside.
  19. That is yet to be ascertained... Despite that, arias often get avoided on pure good will and / or, it is psychologically unpleasant to p*ss on someone else's joy. The OP has indulged himself in a painting a slightly darker picture than might be the case which is understandable and forgivable given a little reciprocity of attitude on the matter... Staying cool is better for all of us and the shorter route to protecting BOTH our chosen passions. So do I. You may well rob a bank if you knew you would get away with it, that might just place you in a minority demographic who requires rules via force... I would argue that the alternative is a slightly nicer place to exist and there are too few places left where it can and does And I envy American Part 103. I cant afford that posh coffee... I drink that powdered crap that taste like shite and cost 10p a cup. Not overly keen on expressing my take on this point in an open forum... I will say you may not be at all wrong but despite that, I enjoy the psychological quiet of self-reliance and first hand discovery on my own personal terms. I will concede that the stakes are high and there is not a lot of wiggle room for getting things wrong. Then try not to p*ss on our chips just because someone p*ssed on yours. In the initial complaint above, we get ONE side of the story with all the anger and trimmings... Ordinarily, these things can be resolved with a calm chat even on those occasions where there is no "legal" infraction. We ALL want to get our slice of fun out of life and not many of us enjoy navigating narrow legal tunnels carved out by people who don't even know our names! Pastimes or hobbies are also called "escapes" for a reason Take it easy man, I'm trying not to rub you up too far the wrong way, I am as protective of sub70kg flight as the OP is of his quiet nature spot... We are not very different at all.
  20. This is the thread I read... different motors but a familiar issue with lots of insight
  21. You have to push the locking pins out first... Look for the holes in the image above, they take a small pin to stop the sliding apart lengthwise
  22. Owch... That would bug the life out of me unless I grasped how. I'm guessing that some friction somewhere has griped the system and unwound the chord which has snagged and been wound around the live portion of the system. Polini had a recurring issue with one of their starters unwinding the chord (if my memory serves me) I don't think this is the thread I read but its a start: https://www.southwestairsports.com/ppgtechinfo/polinithor/flashstarter/flashstarter.htm
  23. WINNER! Nice one Cas! Anderson power poles (like Lego ) Get measuring and search on ebay for "Anderson Power Poles".... pretty sure you will crack it from here.
  24. As far as I can tell there are two main versions of the Mini 2 Plus, yours looks to be the G24 with a slightly different exhaust and filter box... The other version has a K&N style cone filter and larger expansion chamber. The difference between the two are likely to be negligible in regards to prop choice... for example, according the Helix propellers, I can use the same prop on all Baileys paramotors despite the 5hp spread in output and slight ratio difference. Ignore that they mount this one upside down, its the same motor exhaust and filter box as far as I can tell. I personally would put an order in stating the reduction ratio (which you have) and engine model (Simonini Mini 2 Plus) and trust DT Propellers to send me a matching prop. BUT, that me.... PS: You owe a stranger... If you see someone in the rain with a flat tire, stop and get your spanners out (that ought to cover it!)
