    Reserves

£30 seems ok, does that include posting to and from them? Do other Pap owners out there detach their reserve each time they put the motor in the garage / shed? Obviously not such a problem with other motors, but with the Pap you have to undo the frame to take it off and on; much easier to leave it place. Thanks

    Reserves

Hello, After advice regarding my reserve, it has been sat attached to my Pap for over a year now and I don't want to assume it's ok just because it hasn't been touched. It's spent some time in the garage, so could have been affected by damp (this is where you all tell me not to keep it in the garage for that very reason). Do people send theirs off for a repack once a year? I know some will do it themselves but don't mind paying a few pounds for it to be done professionally. thanks Jon
  3. Dan, I have a Berlingo and Top80 1400, but can't get it in without removing the cage. It might go in at a 45 degree angle but would be awkard to tie down. Cheers Jon
  4. don't want to sound negative but what forecast are you looking at?
  5. Tom, Have you tried taking the cage off the motor and tying it to the rack separately. I looked at one of these for my Top80 1400 but didn't intend to leave the cage on due to the size. cheers Jon
  6. Hoping to, just asking about the time as I may have the bring the kids along.
  7. Simon Do have you have a time in mind for the fireworks?
  8. Eddie (fast) & Simon, How did it go? Left the field about 18:15 and no sign of you on the horizon, did you make it back? Jon

you can download an overlay from lloydbailey.net though I have no idea if complete or up to date. Jon
  10. I would have thought that a company listed as a 'preferred supplier' would be willing to give a member discount too Jon
  11. LIGHTNING STRIKE???? I'm sure it has never happened and you shouldn't be in a situation where it could; but it would look good as a smiley
  12. Lightning strike Water landing Tree collision Reserve deployment They all seem a little negetive though if you know what I mean.
  13. Apologies if I am wrong but I thought the Revolution and Fusion were only certified to a certain point; once you let the trims out you are flying an uncertified glider anyway and this is the point you would use the tip steering, is it not? You have still made a modification though. Jon
  14. But should we believe you..... I think if I was worried about potential embarrassment I might be tempted to accidentally give us the wrong date
  15. I want to do the course so that I know how to show/brief all people on site to do it properly. Pete b Pete, I thought the implication from Simon's post was that there would be a few people who were 'Fire Safety Officers'. As there is no guarantee one on them would always be there or able to act, I was just suggeting that all have enough knowledge to act if required. But yes the people who give the briefings would obviously need to be trained first. Jon
  16. Simon, I agree a professional 'fire course' is a good idea, but I think it would also be sensible to brief all students / site users on fire equipment basics. A lot of it is common sense along with a few bits of key information. Apologies if this is already part of the training sylabus, my copy is at home so cant check. Jon

  18. I'm still here Eddie, Progress has been slow but as Tony said no point making excuses, if you are in the right frame of mind you will get there quicker. Spent a lot of time last year hesitating for various reasons, but I can honestly my attitude has changed I and just want to get on with it! I think without that feeling of 'ok I am ready to do this now!' it's not going to happen. Good blog Tony, I can relate to a lot of the points you made. Jon

    Tow Bar Rack

Thanks all, Unfortunately putting the motor in the car is not an option, I go down to Cornwall quite a lot and the boot is always full with the luggage that is required (accorinding to the wife) for her and the two kids; I will be able to squeeze the wing in. I will still look at the rack idea, though I hadn't thought about the amount of dirt and dust, as mentioned by Whitters. Another option is to buy a second motor and wing and leave it down there but I don't think I will get away with that. I had hoped to go with the roof rack / top box idea by buying the biggest I could find and modifying it so the motor and wing would slot in. Jon

    Tow Bar Rack

As I am not allowed to leave the kids at home when on holiday I am looking into different transport options for my paramotor. I had looked at modifying a top box, but think lifting the motor onto the roof would be awkward. I've had a look at previous posts for tow hitch mounted racks / platforms but wondered what different options there were and if anyone had owned / used one and had any feedback? I am also interested in whether the racks are locked on the the car and if you can lock the motor to them. I would not intend to leave it there over night but if I stop at the services for half an hour I would like to think it was safe. Any advice would be appreciated. thanks Jon
  21. Thanks for that Norman, For the record I am neither a doubter or naysayer; not sure if that was aimed at others or myself included? I asked the question simply because I thought that those with all the questions may benefit from the answer. The answer being (as I understand it) that if people will be patient they will probably get their answers without having to ask the questions in the first place. I can fully understand why releasing the syllabus should not happen until all involved are completely happy with it. From posts here and on other forums I am sure there are people out there, who for whatever reason, will try to find fault. Jon
  22. I would imagine it is still being tweaked as the first course is running, but will the PMC trainee pilot syllbus be available on here at some point? I feel that might go towards answering some of the questions people have.
  23. There is Top 80 yahoo group, I think the manufacturers post on there so a good place for info. Jon
