  1. Nooooooo Way.... I am going to back to microlighting ...I never really left it. Because there is just no way I will be able to foot launch ....until my leg/ankle/foot....get strong again and at the moment the thought of landing on my feet is unthinkable...where as landing on wheels is no problem at all.. .... So the way forward for me is carry on with the microlight and look towards getting myself a paratrike the problem ive got with the trike is that my current paramotor would struggle to carry the extra weight of the trike when using my small wing....so I need a bigger more powerfull motor.....hence the sale of my much loved Pap (Yes ive even slept with her) to help fund this... I am not keen on the fixed hangpoint trikes so its going to be along these lines.... PS......... Please remember that you are supposed to be watching the trike in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QmsgRU7ZVJw WAY TO GO
  2. ads_item.php?id=367 Everybody Needs to check this out ..............Please
  3. Bloody billiant.. it gives you that feel good factor........... then i look outside and come back to earth with a bump because its blowin a bast*rd and pissing down
  4. Ive just found this artical on Paramotor news......This motor should ( I Hope ) be what we have all been waiting for....I am frothing at the mouth....and best of all it looks like its got a clutch it should make all the other paramotor engines redundant...... After the great success of the famous THOR 100cc paramotor engine, Polini hasn’t stopped its creativity and he is ready to present the new THOR 200cc engine. It’s a 2 stroke compact and light engine, designed to meet so many requests coming from people who love this sport, anxious to use a new propulsor with more performing features, faster and more reliable. THOR 200 is a concentrate of technology; it uses the best technical solutions to grant safety and reliability being also easy to start thanks to the new Flash Starter system. Polini will present in preview the brand new THOR 200cc paramotor at the “Coupe Icare Expo 2011” the most important show for the paragliding market, in program at Sain Hilaire du Touvet, Rhone Alpes French department, from September 22nd to 25th. You are welcome to discover the new THOR here is the link http://www.paramotornews.com/
  5. You couldnt name the insurance companies that will insure us for an accident whilst flying although its a little late for me this time It might/should help other Paramotor pilots in the future
  6. QUOTE The point is: the maillons are substandard. Paramania are ultimately responsible for ensuring standards of their products at the point of sale. The manner in which Mike Cambell Jones dismissed the issue outright (via Theron's email) was in my opinion very regrettable and immediately made the issue a brand war. What should have happened was an immediate safety notice issued to all owners via Paramania dealers whilst a investigation was undertaken. This did not happen wihtin what I am told was an acceptable time period and suggests to me that Francis was right to send the maillons off for independant analyisis with the BHPA. Should Paramania have been offered the opportunity to examine the Maillons first? In an ideal world yes. I have heard several people in person and on various forums pointing fingers at Clive accusing him of scaremongering. I believe this to be untrue. Of course you can argue he should have contacted Paramania first but ask yourself what is the quickest way in the UK of allerting PPG pilots to a potential safety issue - I think the forums. No, this shouldn't be the case but it is! Paramotoring really needs to sort its act out. These perpetual pathetic battles between PMC and the BHPA are a total waste of energy and prevent the sport moving in the right direction. Issues between brands are an unfortunate part of economics but should not prevent them from striving for the highest possible standards of equipment safety together. For all those regulation fearers out there the best way of staving it off is to unite and regualte ourselves by pressurising manufacturers to conform to what we expect of them. Is this achievable without the sort of regualtion seen in microlighting - I hope so. I have no brand act to grind as I am the proud owner of both Paramania and Dudek wings. And yes the full report should be made available to all those who wish to read it. I Agree with every bloody word...couldnt have written it better if I tried.. I also hope self regulation will carry on the way it is but with the failure of self policing time and time again with quite a few different manafacturers I fear it wont be long before control will be taken away from us .....
  7. I very well know the problem you are having with the speed bar ...on your Pap My old one had this very same problem ...as it would because its the same as yours my new one has the pullys at the back of the seat and the difference is amazing ....so easy to press the speed bar now where as before when I applied the speed bar I would end up letting the throttle off leaning backwards pushing with all my might to get the bar to move then once in position (fully extended) sit back up and apply the power again it was not the most easy of process and as a result tended to fly with out a speedbar most of the time..... I have seen a mod where a pully has been attatched to the frame itself near the bottom with a length of line/lanyard so that it sits on the outside of the harness but it (the pully) position is at exactly in the same as on the new harness (but on the outside) apparently the Guy who had done this mod reckoned it worked just as good and reduced the effort req to push the speedbar....

  9. +2 dave...........................But it wont happen I for one wont be buying another Paramania Product.....(Sorry if that upsets anybody ) but the way I see it I think the Number one priority should be Customer safety before any Brand/Manafacturer damage...
  10. Back to the drawing board I thought I had found a solution
  11. After some thought on this matter I have come to a solution to finding out which system of recording the Speed the most accurate 100% success I reckon ...... Borrow that New Jag again ..... Get all speed recording systems up and running and then at around 45mph go through a 30mph speed trap..... And this is the clever part of my plan.... .........Wait around for a few days and your true speed at that point will be delivered by the royal mail You will have to do a few runs to be sure of the results....or just video one run whilst the camera is pointing at all the different devices so you will have a record..... SIMPLES
  12. Quote (I would of thought that all effected Revo2 customers would have been contacted by now rather than waiting for them to come back to the supplying dealer!) So would I This type of failure by any manafacturer just wouldnt be tolerated in any other type of aviation so why should it with our sport/lifestyle.... I just dont get it
  13. Ive just typed the words plane crash into You tubes search bar there is just so much choice...... in one of them I saw somebody jump out of a crashing plane and he landed safely the reason.... he had a parachute and it filled with air to slow his journey to earth who would have thought of such a thing
  14. remember to look left and right before crossing the road...... dont walk under any ladders D I Y is also an accident just waiting to happen dont even think of rock climbing Skiing Oh my god are you trying to kill yourself Its much better/safer to stay sat in front of a computer watching youtube..... Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well- preserved body But rather to skid in sideways, covered in scars body thoroughly used up worn out and screaming YAHOO What a ride Stay safe
  15. It depends on when you passed your microlight licence whether you are legally req to take another exam ....but you would be crazy not to have some sort of training even if you dont need to legally......pre reflex days its true most of the time you were struggling against the wind but these days things have changed I get a genuine 40mph in nil wind so progress can be made ......also your wing will have to have a G- reg.... I too come from microlighting but a flex wing so Ive never had the benefit of a heater or been able to stay dry. Ps However I will swap with you your Eurostar for my paramotor and wing if you want any day
  16. Go on then I will admit it .... I am a tight arse... ...and no I am not scottish or from yorkshire
  17. (QUOTE ) Gary, I'm impressed...however...I wouldnt wear a womans blouse for a shirt """"WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO WEAR A SKIRT IN THE FIRST PLACE """" OOOPS The cats out of the Bag
  18. Inflatable leading edge..........just add power and heres a different take on a wing
  19. kite surfers can actually fly their kites like a paraglider allready at stay up at will ....so the borders are blurring between the two sports allready..... ok ok then just a couple of wing cells filled with Helium just for those people who have trouble with the launch materials are strong enough these days not to worry about leaks.....there are loads of inflatable boats around that get run up the beach.... Just Remember when we are all 70 + (many years from now) It was my Idea and I want all the royalties we already have the Woopy fly a wing that flys and is in production that is a combination of alloy and an air filled material wing thats inflated with motors.. Sometimes the most extreme ideas and the ones that get scoffed at can be the best... people can sometimes get blinkered and stuck in a rut....
  20. ( Taking things to extremes imagine if you could launch a hanglider wing on lines ) I just said that..... but I mean on lines not an A frame.... ... to control it anyway I think my Helium filled self launching wing has more life in it..... Yes Yes I know its called a balloon and weve already got those I am obviously thinking on another level............... a Higher one
  21. I asked the same question when I first started paramotoring over ten years ago ...after flying microlights for years before that I was told my all the Paraglider wing manafactures the same answer.....that if the wing did go out of control the reaction would be far more dynamic...and uncontrolable...to which my following question was why then is every other flying wing stiff..... and if its more collapse resistant why would it collapse anyway ....and what about a totally inflatable Paraglider....and fill it with helium to solve the launching problems once and for all......it would just float up waiting for you to apply the power at your convienience not one ever answered those questions...... Now we have a few manafacturers inserting plastic or carbon rods to stiffen the wing an inflatable bladder would do the same....al,,la kite wing......I think there could be a future in these ideas.... Taking things to extremes imagine if you could launch a hanglider wing on lines after all you can fly solid kites....I think we are in the very early days of this sports development who knows where it will go... PS I was always told to think outside the box....
  22. I think the Pool table might have been in the way
  23. I ve had way more collapses on None reflex wings some of those wings were DHV 1 s i in 4 years on a reflex wings only one and that was in very Gusty conditions and the wing sorted it out before I even knew about it
