  1. Or sell the woman and the house and get one of the paramotor tent things and live the life of a para pikey!! Hmmmm, any one want to buy a house, a woman, three kids, two dogs and a people carrier? I'll even throw in a mother in law free of charge!
  2. That's why I stressed its not my reccomendation. But the beauty of the sport is that it is possible. More so if you have previouse flying experience an understand your airlaw and met. I didn't teach my self but was tought by experiences pilots.
  3. Your best bet is to find some local pilots and go meet them. Then if your still hungary for it, ask them to recommend a school or instructor. I went solo on flex wings but ran out of money before getting to my test. Paramotors are so much more practical for me I terms of storage and running cost, and training was very cheap, wink wink, but that was my choice and NOT MY RECCOMENDATION!! ;0). Have fun
  4. I think I may have Sussed it. Before going all out I thought I would have a little play with the mixture screw. As I said when I posted originally I haven't touched anything on it since buying it, just made sure it wasn't hanging off, Any way once I had got it warm on my back I took it off. Left it on the floor and as expected it slowly died and wouldn't respond to throttle the cut out. Started it again which was a bit of an effort but eventually fired up. But this time I had a chance to wind the mixture screw in and out before it cut out. When I done this I got a noticeable increase in revs to the point the clutch started to bite. Obviously the cause of the problem as I sat and ticked over spot on till I hit the kill switch. The part that I what to know is, could the mixture be out due to the whether being that much colder , maybe the screw has moved through vibration? Just after some opinions. Thanks. Stu
  5. It is amazing now hey. My mum went in for a full hip replacement ( ball and cup) and was in and out in 3 days and walking. All through a 2 or 3 inch scar!
  6. Thanks Stuart. Will def have a look through. Going to have a good look at the carb the weekend as every daylight hour is spent at work at the min and apparently paramotors aren't allowed on the kitchen table. Can't see why. It's one of my 5 a day I thought?
  7. No I haven't. Like I say I haven't touched anything as it has run perfect for the last 8 months that I have owned it. I will have a good look over the carb when I get a chance and will get a kit ordered. Thanks stu, stu lol
  8. I've tried posting some pics of the carb up but they are too big and not sure how to do it on I pad. It's definitely a walbro but not sure if there are different models. Sorry if this isn't much help. How can identify it more accurately? Thanks stu.

  10. Walbro? Rings a bell but to be honest the motor has run sweet as a nut since i brought it so I haven't really looked at it. Just made sure it wasnt hanging off!!! I'll check and post it up. Sure I read walbro on it tho
  11. My Ross 125 doesn't like ticking over when first started even once warm. I have raised the tick over a little bit, before I start tinkering any further I though I would ask if anybody has got any ideas. I don't use choke as its never needed it, I prime it. Start it with a bit of throttle. Then warm it up on my back but it keeps cutting out once it returns to idle until its been running for a while. Prob about 10 mins. Then it will idle fine. Is there a possibility it could be the oil blocking the idle jet until its desolved by the petrol flowing through the carb? All this makes getting airborne a pain in the arse as I start it on the deck then put it on then clip in and go. But it cuts out while I am putting it on!!! Thanks for reading peeps. Stu

My dumbest descision yet was kidding myself I could afford to run and fly flex wing ( licence, training, aircraft, kit, and then running it) The annoying thing is if I had just gone paramotor to start off with I would have about 4 years flying experience now, instead of a getting solo on flex wing then realising I had run out of money, I did love flying the flex wings but spent a lot to get no where when I could have completely set up on paramotors and been flying. So not really a dumb descision but one I regret a bit in terms of flying.
  15. That is mental!!! I am banking with a bit of weight shifting and not even getting level with the inside wing tip. And that's my idea of throwing it about. Love the idea of wing overs. Just i don't know if I would have the balls to try it. And not any time soon. And the landing in the fence, I can see how easily it is done. So much going on it the last 50 ft it's easy to miss stuff. I done three approaches a few flights back before landing each time remembering something I hadn't done, trimmers, leg support, got there in the end tho!!!!
  16. Keeping in with the trend of open questions, I've got one of my own. I have a few flights under my belt now and have started getting a lot more confident in making the wing go where I want it to. My question is this: What is the most extreme flying you have done, whether it be one manoeuvre, a whole flight, or a miss hap, I have no intention of "trying this at home" but am interested in what sort of flying others like. Thanks peeps.
  17. That sounds reasonable. I would not consider taking anyone up unless I was 100% sure. Just wondered what the average experience was before people done it.
  18. Thanks Dave. Didn't think about the launches. It's annoying coz with a ground harness on he can launch it ( forward and reverse) and control it. Run with it, it's just the weight of the motor slows it all down and hence the wing goes astray. Worst case I can get him flying, in reality how much experience and skill is required to do tandem? I'm not thinking any time soon but it's a thought for the future. ( plus I've got three boys I'd love to take up)
  19. Found the weight. 24kg? I'm thinking more under 20 and as close to 15 as poss. Might be that I'm dreaming but ya don't know till ya ask!!

  21. Sounds interesting. What's the weight of it?? That's the big thing for my dad as he didn't feel comfortable with the pap at 26kg. Either way il have a chat with him
