  1. Hi. I'm quite new to it my self. I met up with a few blokes from this forum and just watched an talked. Big help and a really good experience. And YouTube rules!! Maybe not as far as learning how to fly properly but great for seeing what the sport is all about and what's possible. Just type in paramotor and you can be there for hours. And as said above you need an understanding other half and prepare to drift off looking at tree tops and clouds for wind conditions. But welcome and enjoy!!
  2. Neilzy- Ye hope to. And sorry for lowering the tone. Sure it will happen. Hoping it will balance out so after having a month of bad weather we can all look forward to having a month of low wind and clear skies. Anyway. Got to take my medication!!!
  3. I'm up for that. I should have more flying under my belt by then if this weather let's me
  4. I know how you feel mate. Had one flight to really get me buzzing then nothing for 3 weeks. I'm now on morphine to numb the pain!!! And yes I do find my self drifting off looking up and spotting nice fields. I also find myself thinking "I wonder what that looks like from 1000ft?" still chin up!!! Can't last forever, can it?
  5. I'm about 85 kg. think I've got myself an apco 18. Hoping it will just be a design feature and never be used!!! Better to be safe than sorry
  6. Hello mate. I'm new to it aswell. Done it for 4000. Revo 2 and a really nice pap Ross. Met a few blokes from this forum and got some good advise and plenty of pointers. Done loads of ground handling and got in the air recently. Dosent have to be as expensive as ya think. And trust me. It's worth every penny!!!! An I might be well out with this but I don't think the 4 strokes are that much quieter? I was under the impression that a lot of the noise produced was from the prop? Might have it right round my neck tho.
  7. Hi. I have a pap Ross. Thinks its a push to break. I'm a new pilot and am really concious of pushing it by mistake during flight. Seems a bit easy to do. And being pull start its a bit of a prob if I do!!! Was thinking of some sort of cover like an ignition switch with the red flip up cover. Ever had an issue with it?
  8. Yep. And when ya driving about you find yourself thinking "I wonder what that looks like from the air" looking to get a reserve now. Any suggestions as to the best one or who's got one for sale. Notice there is on in classifieds on here.
  9. Just want to say I big thanks to every one who offered their help and support over the last few months. Had my first flight yesterday eve. Everything went smoothly. Flew for about 25 mins and about 800 foot. And a reasonable landing to finish it all off. My revo 2 23 and pap Ross felt perfect and can't wait to get to know it better. Bring on the calm summer evenings!!!
  10. Thanks peeps. Haven't looked in halfords. Have tried all the. Motorbike shops near me but must admit I try to avoid halfords if I can. Thieving ba****ds!!! So it's basically a case of fully synthetic high quality oil. Will get it from halfords if need be After all my baby is worth it!
  11. Hi all. Ive got a pap Ross 125. Any one suggest The best 2 stroke oil to use. Been reccomended castrol racing oil but having reall problems finding it local to me as all motorbike shops say they having trouble with suppliers on castrol! Gearing up fr my first flight soon so haven't got time to wait for it mail order. Thanks. Stu
  12. Ok thanks. I'm guessing you start getting into deregulated micro light territory. maybe stick with foot launch then. Micro light kinda takes the affordability out of it.
  13. Hi. Forgive me for getting ahead of myself as I haven't even started learning yet. My plan is to get started and once competent maybe set up tandem so I can share it with my three boys. I was just wondering the best way of doing it and where I stand in terms of a tandem trike? Is this as straight forward as buying the rest of the kit or am I straying into different rules and regulations?

  15. Ye ok thank you. I'm looking to learn at a school near Braintree. Looks good there. Unless anyone can recommend one better and closer to me. After I stopped the microlighting I got myself a nice Jetski. That's what's going to fund my new toy. My mobile is 07508204452 if anyone fly's local. Give us a text and I'll bring some cakes over
  16. Thanks for the reply. Makes sense when ya put it like that. I'm based in east tilbury in Essex. I was flying micro lights a few years back but didnt complete my training due to seriously underestimating how much it would all cost. I got to flying solo but not much after that. Annoyingly what I spent on that I could have done my paramotor training and got a nice set up and be up and flying by now. Hind site and all that. Any one fly local to me?
  17. Hi. I'm stu. I am looking into starting paramotor training. I have found a school local to me that looks promising but it is not on the BHPA web site. Is this an issue or does it not matter. It does say they follow the syllabus but I want to know if I am missing out on something by not traing directly with the BHPA. Thanks for reading. Hope to hear from you soon.
