  1. Morgy, Is that why you haven't replied to the email I sent via your web page reference micro vario Regards Flyingfergus
  2. Vorsprung durch Technik.....(advancement through technology)..., I don't think so
  3. I have been paramotoring for 5 years and lucky enough to spend a weeks holiday paramotoring from the Cricceith area for the last two years with a group of friends. It does offer a unique combination of flying terrain. I wasn't there & don't know the individuals at the recent fly in that resulted in the news paper report. I think most of us would get upset if visiting paramotorists attracted negative press in our local home flying area. We all rely on goodwill of the locals for take off sites and hassle free flying. Freefly Gary has my sympathy on this one. Most of us enjoy some low flying at times and guess this is most likend to speeding in a car. Its easy to infringe the law but you use your own judgement as to what risk you pose to others (including live stock). Low flying along most of the beach at Cricceith shown in the vidoe is within 100ft of the railway line. Too dangerous in my view and puts others lives at risk. The acid test will be if the holiday let /land owner welcomes the next lot of paramotorists who try to book accomodation and permission to take off from his fields. Paul C
  4. Nice vid Morgy. Two weekends flying on the bounce, whats happening to the British weather
  5. Happen to see Relocation Relocation Relocation last evening on Channel 4. There was some bloke called Malcolm who they were house hunting for South of Swindon. Bald rotund fella. Anyway he paramotors & they showed a short clip of paramotoring & Malcolm (?) landing. Landed with his engine on & nearly fell backwards ! Not the best "PR" but he lived to buy a new house. Paul C
  6. I posted the same question on the Yahoo forum & had one reply from a chap who had the Robor. He posted it was very inaccurate but didn't record any figures. When I investigated 3 years back the issue was around the flow sensor. None of them were designed to measure at the low flow rates we use (especially a Bailey V5). With the flow being a pulse this also adds to the innacuracy. The charts for the flow rates on the sensors I looked at (wihch was not the Robor) showed error up to 10% at our flow rates. As there are a couple on the market now I thought I would see if things had moved on. Still looking for more feedback for those who have one. Thanks Paul C
  7. Hi Sticky, The interest in the "flow" sensor system is that it should in theory help understand the most effiecient fuel consumption. Seeing the spot fuel consumption for each wing setting should help in decide which is the best option to acheieve the desired goal. However if they are not accurate then like you say a cheap mirror is just as good. regards Paul C
  8. Any body got the Tiggy fuel flow sesnsor system from XCshop or the Robor fuel flow sensor system from UKPPG ? I had understood that due to the pulsing of the fuel they are less accurate (+/- 10%), On a 10 litre tank of fuel thats a litre out. I would be interested to know any one who has one & what accuracy have found especially if its on a 4 stroke before I part with the hard earnt readies Paul C
  9. For those interested in 2nd hand values my Bailey V4 received no bids at £3500 on ebay. However I had 3 interested parties all offereing around £3K & it was collected today. My new V5 has taken 6 weeks from ordering to delivery direct from Baileys which is just about perfect timing for me. I pick it Thursday
  10. For anyone flying over water watch this pilots accident posted this week. He's lucky to be alive. Paul C
  11. I watched Felix Baumgartner's skydiving altitude record documentary last night. It looked very lonely at 128,000ft. However at the start of the ascent the helium ballon was only achieving 1200ft / min. You wouldn't be far behing him sticky I always choose my wing size by being able to fly level on full throttle, trimmers fully out + full speedbar. That tends to give me a climb rate of 350ft / min with trimmers in & full throttle on my current Speedster 28 and very responsive handling on the tip steering.
  12. Simon, I can't be arsed to read the whole thread (8 pages !) but does your last post mean that you now offer Paramotor insurance without any registarion of wing etc ? If so really well done & I will be looking at your insurance when my current cover runs out next year. It might be worth you starting a new thread clarifying the requirements Thanks Paul C
  13. Morgy, I know delivery time is your USP & I think its great that a dealer is prepared to carry stock. You certainly will be my first port of call if I want something asap. I am certainly not expecting to wait 21 weeks and when I spoke to Paul he said the current order book would take him 5 weeks to produce when I ordered mine. Best regards Paul C
  14. Morgy Thanks for the offer. Probably would have done if you did exchanges....remember my email. Order delivery times have come down as you will know so it won't be long now & its given me time to get the cash together & hopefully get my V4 sold. Weathers a bit crap also so no rush. Paul C
  15. That looks repairable. I got a guy near me does repairs for £20 a throw & can't fault him. Get it repaired & have it as a spare.
  16. Hi Morgy, Had a V3, then a V4 so take a guess I'm only 40 minutes from Paul's & his back up service is second to none. Paul C
  17. Hi everyone, just put my Bailey V4 up for sale on ebay ( sorry Si for not using this auction site ) Includes:- Electric “easy start” system. quick release prop, bespoke 11 litre tank with expensive very accurate Gill fuel gauge system which sits in the flight deck. Spare 1.3m prop, spare exhaust system, cage bag for the Titanium frame which breaks down in to 4, prop covers. Just serviced at Bailey’s prior to selling. 75 hours flown & in very good condition. 18. Spent 5 days flying N.Wales in early September. Weather wasn't the best & so it wasn't safe to go over Snowdon unlike last year. However we had some brialliant cloud conditions & 7 of us enjoyed hide & seek among them. A link to the Youtube short video of the best images is below This is why I fly:- Flying Fergus
  19. The Agama dealer in UK is http://www.x3mparamotor.co.uk/x3mparamo ... ories.html His name is Peter and you can contact through the website above. I bought one from him last year. Had to post a cheque before he sent it so payment options a bit limited however he sent it OK and no complaints about delivery & product. I keep mine permenantly on my motor as it doesn't get in the way. Off flying next week in Snowdonia with Paul Haxby & 3 others. Weathers looking good.
  20. Try before you buy ! We all come from different experiences & all want diferent things from flying. I have a Speedster28 for a year & love it. It has no negatives for me. Easy to launch, land, fast trimmers off, nice to handle when low flying round obstacles. Ozone say not to fold it (because of the plastic rods in the front of the wing) & advice to concertina pack it into a saucisse bag which is additional cost. Dont bother get a stuff bag instead ( the ozone back pack doesn't have one built in). Paul C
  21. This is my first attempt at making a vid & uploading to Youtub. Its flying one of my favourite areas around Berwick Upon Tweed in the Borders. The beach flying is unrivalled as its virtually impossible for walkers & vehicles to get to. Enjoy [youtubevideo] [/youtubevideo]Paul C
  22. Just back from Cornwall. Presume you are aware the Olympic torch arrives at Coldrose Friday (18th) & will set of from Lands End Saturday. Don't know what air restrictions are due but it will certainly be busy. The farmers have been told by the local constabulary under no cicumstances must they leave any mud on the A30 & no carting new potatoes from Penzance Saturday.
  23. HI Whitters, We actually met in Basse Ham couple of years ago. You had a green laser pen I recall. Weather looks like its going away from a good forecast to a blow out for Monday but will watch forecast Friday before I decide to load the V4 & see who's available. Thanks for the replies. Best regards
  24. Hi, Anyone fly regularly in Cornwall. I am down next Monday (14th) / Tuesday near Helston looking at early spuds & will take my gear if the weathers good. Monday evening will probably be the favoured timing. PM me if anyone interested & knows the area.
  25. Even Parajet have succumb to the power of the V5. You can have a custom parajet with a V5 engine. Good on Parajet for acknowledging a decent engine when they see one. http://www.parajet.com/paramotors/volution-custom/ I understand the V5 will be out soon with electric start ( we'll have to see how much weight it adds ). All Baileys have to do now is offer a Titanium version & I will be there to upgrade from V4 Just as I buy one they will no doubt come out with the V6 From the Speedster manual "Although it is designed for pilots who fly mainly (if not exclusively) under power, the Speedster performs excellently un-powered. The sink rate is low enough to soar in light lift, thermal in all conditions and the glide performance is good enough to fly cross country."
