  1. The safest answer is the revolution or synthesis is the friendlier one. If you are asking then chances are you are not ready. They are both more lively. Both have reflex stability, speed and glide. It's down to personal preferance as they both feel different.

I have flown the G6-100 from UKPPG, it was ok. I was on my fusion and im 90kg Motor all up must be 22kg feels very light. Would be better for 80kg or below.
  3. Sorry missed the price. £85 I could ship to spain at cost to you. No idea how much tho. They're a few kilos.
  4. We have bak-raks in Red Texture, Black Texture, or sparkly silver to match your car and prolong the raks life. Its a good rak, im 85-90kg and can walk side to side on it, very strong and secure. Loads of other uses. I have pics to upload, original pics I uploaded have gone missing. Will drop happily onto swan neck, audi, merc or bolt on tow balls. Vince
  5. Yes on my Fusion the red to green line is faster than recommended take off setting. Flying hands off under power is never regarded as the best thing to do, but you do have some control over pitch with care full use of the throttle, I learnt to fly on paragliders which is why I would recommend reflex to any powered pilot, under power staying in some reflex. I think it can be difficult to explain what is happening and why and when to use reflex in simple to understand language which is why the manual has some strange reference's. As a rep for Paramania we always have a hand over to the end customer and explain the trimmers in hand to show exactly how to use them and what the effects are. Paramania are putting a new system in place which will ensure that with all new wing sales this exact process will happen which is a good thing. 2nd hand ebay sales, this is where the problems will occur as we have no control over this.
  6. I see it as a play on words, a way of describing what is happening, call it what you like. Non reflex, flapped reflex, paraglider mode its all the same thing in this context, maybe not in another situation but when describing soft foil paraglider wing I think it is fair. I have flown and do fly hands off on a paraglider, and do so in paraglider mode on my reflex wing. Not in rough air where you would need to be hands on or reflexed. Reflex is a bonus tool to have not a necessity. Yes there is a change over point on the wing where you go from hands off to hands on. On my fusion it is clearly marked in red area and green area. The neutral line is the change over point it seems fairly simple to me, why complicate it. Its marked on the trimmers and it works.
  7. As per diagram. Fully closed trimmers is paraglider mode and everything beyond that is heading for and ''Introducing'' reflex. Not usable reflex that you can rely on (until you get past neutral) but it is already beyond standard paraglider mode and flying faster with your weight more forward on the wing. I often find myself flying in the neutral mode when maneuvering as the wing has more speed and a nice carve to the turn, just a fun setting. I go full reflex for A to B. Full paraglider mode when I switch off the engine. I land on all sorts of trim settings just to make it fun, from full slow to full fast for a long foot drag.
  8. Don't get me wrong, most stainless frames are 6.5 kg to 7 kg and the carbon frame is very well made and 5.9kg with the ali arms. Would have to tread with kid gloves as it would scratch but could also be polished out and repaired. We are working on a superlight chassis sub 4kg. I am on the lookout for a light weight harness.
  9. Carbon frame is 5.9 kg http://paraplan.ru/photos/albums/userpi ... 0102~0.JPG my own titanium frames are 4.3 kg I like the carbon look though. Must be the plastic and Ali parts that are heavy.
  10. KobraPPG Karbon, £4495 with the SKY100 www.kobra-ppg.co.uk click Karbon, loads of pictures. All up about 25kg
  11. I have always understood that they remain to have a small amount of reflex all the way down, not enough to be any use in REFLEX terms but by design it is always present in some form, except on the most recent reflex (the fusion) I understood Take off trim has a small amount of pitch positive (reflex) which is what makes it climb so nicely. Humm I guess its all in the wording. I could agree that they do not have full reflex capability below the neutral mark and quickly reducing all the time down towards the -5 or what ever number you have. I would say it remains pitch positive for most of the way down until near the end. Interesting and something that needs clarifying. I have seen this question on the forums before somewhere 'how much reflex is present on closed trims' Not to confuse the new guys. Pitch negative and no reflex is not dangerous it is just like flying a normal paraglider, with the reflex ability as being a bonus.
  12. Your Synthesis, Revolution, ReAction, Nucleon, Plasma, Action GT are all reflex wings all the way to the stopper. Past 0 down to -5 only very small amount of reflex but its there. Paramania Fusion is the only wing to claim full Paragliding capability and next to no reflex at full trims all the way IN. At Zero setting your wing has full reflex capability, below '0' in the negative numbers your wing has reduced reflex, reduced speed and reduced sink, above '0' your wing has more speed, with more reflex. A non reflex paraglider wing when entering a thermal will at first pitch back due to it being pitch negative (as a paraglider pilot you would control this with brake pressure) Under power this would be exaggerated as you are already pushing out in front with thrust. A reflex wing will do the opposite, it will pitch forward as it is pitch positive. The reflex section of the wing does its best to maintain a constant pitch angle so you don't touch the brakes. If you are already pushing along under power pitch positive is preferable. Pitch is the forward and back movement of the wing above your head. All the extra speed created by using this reflex ability means the wing itself has more internal pressure, thus further reducing the chances of a collapse. Constant pitch angle + higher internal pressure = Very very rarely hear of a collapse from a good reflex wing in normal use. The synthesis and Paramania Revolution are definitely the safest wings currently available for powered flight.
  13. I remember my early days when I swapped and tried 3 different paragliders. Edel Sabre, Firebird Matrix and a FreeX Moon. All so so with paramotor, very slow just floating about which was fine at the time. But when I got my first reflex wing, wow it really opened the whole concept up, forward speed going places and being able to explore my surroundings. Now on the Fusion I feel I have the best of both A to B speed and trims on slow and explore. Reflex is a good thing.
  14. or is the http://www.polini-thor.co.uk engine quiet and the standard helix prop making the same noise as normal
  15. Have added a new Polini Thor PPG Video, its on DailyMotion so I can't post it on here follow the MikaLight Paramotor link instead http://www.mikalight.co.uk scroll down the page about 1/2 way and click play. You can hear the thor properly with no music. Vince
  16. Faaaantastic. Loved it, some thing I have wanted to do for a while. You got some really excellent footage. Sky news is like the comedy part very funny, I saw a swoop then I could see your shadow at one point, then flying under the real copter things. lol. great.
  17. It would be great to move Essex chat to the new Essex Suffolk forum area. I would like to get that moving, expand our flying site this year, when we get some sunshine. http://www.paramotorclub.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=63
  18. Polini is the better motor for sure. Big factory full of designers and engineers who know what they are doing. Thor engine has very linear torque making it lovely for flying not any sudden jumps in power right where you want to cruise level. We have a few X-Generations coming in. These are the paramotor of choice for Polini, all the flight testing was carried out on the X-Gen and it was on display on the polini stand so some of you who went to Coupe Icare last year probably already seen them. Full 64kg thrust from the 130 Carbon prop, alot of paramotors still only offering the 125 prop this affects thrust and economy. Its only 23.8kg all up. Rigid frame but also fits in a suit case. Its the best Polini deal about at only £3795 all up inc vat + free delivery what more can you ask for (< dont answer that!) Even a trike option. I already have a used Custom Air Titanium Black Devil part ex for sale £3k ono. going on ebay at some point. And a H&E 120 £2k ono.
  19. Polini Thor is 2k Inc vat. It is very well made and from a proven engine factory. Pushing over 60kg thrust. G6 is the cheap option and does work ok making a great budget motor. With 50kg thrust. Yes there is a new motor about I have only heard it is light weight 130cc 25hp and from china.
  20. Check it out http://www.custom-air.co.uk we have 3 polini powered paramotors on offer plus a possible forth low price unit coming later this year. Engine only option for anyone wanting to change power plant. The polini engine weight specified does not include exhaust which is about 2.9kg It is a great sounding engine, with a lovely tone, low vibration and with a large prop and cage has enough thrust for most at a claimed 64kg Polini powered MikaLight or X-generation or soon to be KobraPPG Polini. We have more surprises later in the year, roll on summer 2010
  21. The packs I have been using have a peak discharge of 60 to 65c and are all fitted in safe lipo bag. They in standard use get 5 to 10 seconds when starting a motor. I have tested them over 2 mins with no heat gain and was more worried about my starter motor. Been ok in use for many months. Thus far. Will be looking at larger packs for our electric paramotor motor.
  22. Thanks mikey for the improved instructions. I have been posting from my phone as I have been out all weekend picking up a new horse. Wish wifey preffered Paramotors to horses, would be much easier.
  23. Update to intructions. The newer chargers like your has to lipo charge options. The first is a strait charge. The second is the one to use which is lipo balanced charge. It is a little slower but the best one to charge with. And you can see the difference when you check with the battery monitor as all cells are then the same voltage.
  24. I dont want to buy it, I want to bring attention to it and hopefully reunite the original owner if it is at all iffy.
