  1. If your misses has some of those trouser/skirt hangers with the clamps at the bottom, you can use them. You will need atleast 5 and a line to hang on. Clip them every meter or so along the back edge or in a bit if you height restricted, that way you can hang your wing even on a rotary line. Up the stairs, in the doorway. etc
  2. Hi Paul, I will be there and wanting to try it, I have wanted to get on a couple of APCO's for a while, glad you are coming down. Thrust and Vista. I will bring plenty of Fuel. Infact if you have a demo? send it down a week early so I can play and get some photo's.
  3. This reminds of a kite review in one of the kitesurf magazines, It was a mega test of all the latest kit.The one kite that was missing which was the one I wanted, turned out to be a bit of a dog. I don't buy the kite mags anymore, I go by word of mouth and personal test flying. I fly a North Rebel which is an amazing kite but never stood out in the reviews. All that aside where is the Nucleon review it is always interesting. There must be some private reviews on some website somewhere. A mate has a 31 I think, I will review it myself when I get a chance and post the results on here, I will get his view on the Fusion at the same time as a control measure so it will not be bias.
  4. While pulling normal brakes while flying reflex works on the Action Re-Action it is not such a good idea on the Fusion which is 100% reflex. It can be done but is best to reduce some of the reflex as it would only prove to distort the wing. An inch out in reflex on the Fusion is like 4 inches out on my old re-action, something that took adjusting to, but its where all the speed comes from.
  5. Any idea who tested it? or when they are printing the review.
  6. Thanks Mike, I just looked on the website again and it is in the news section for the 29, but not in the Tech Details for any sizes. I like the way Paramania make there test report available, is the Nucleon one online to view? I have searched the www.para-test.com and it doesn't have a report, says its pending. Fusion is there so is the Synthesis. Please Help. Am I looking in the right place? I get asked about the Nucleon but can't comment as there are no reviews and no tests, surely the wing has been out long enough to get all this done. I thought Paramotor Mag were going to test it after the Fusion, it must be top of their list, every one wants to know. I mean how hard can it be for a magazine to get hold of a wing, dudek would love the big glossy photo's. Instant sales boost after a review im sure. Is there any reviews in the states or euro, I haven't read any. Post a Link to something.
  7. I was looking at the Wing specs for the Nucleon and noticed it doesn't have certification The Synth is a C just like the Fusion. How would that affect insurance? is it a criteria. I think someone said about uncertified wings before and insurance??
  8. another one for Jack, with tip steering toggles you can use brakes and tips at the same time for a real tip rudder effect. t_andrews, two line kite steering, isn't that weight shifting. I noticed that my reaction has a synch like rings steering on the main brakes but the fusion has not, I likes the idea of bunching the tips to get good steering. Another point to mention it using one main brake on the fusion I can steer in either direction. I better explain.. Flying full trims out a gentle pull on the right hand brake (just enough to take out the slack) will cause a left hand turn, more pull for a right hand turn. Its great for photo's and course correction. I would guess it is caused by creating more lift on that side by reducing the reflex. Any one else played with this?
  9. Hi Jack, on my reaction I fitted a second line with toggles to the rear most point of the 3 stabilo attachments. I really got some great tip steering that way. I had two stabilo lines if you like, I found the stabilo line did very little where as I could crack a pretty good turn with my second TST line 45 degree bank flat out.
  10. SW will do at some point. Andrews - I though about something similar so I could just pull on the stabilo line, two metal rings small and large. Small one bolted into the Mullion as a guide and the other larger one as a small handle on the end of the Stabilo line so that it cannot pass through the smaller ring. (its a bit like one of my old kitesurfing rigs) it all worked out to be about the correct length but it has never been done and I can see room for error but a magnet keeper would solve one of my worries. I was unsure of any faults with this idea, why it is not done? which is the reason I went with an already familier and proven design. I may go back to it.
  11. Its the all new butt clench photo button. I only get photo's of wing overs and bad turbulence or you should ask my wife how I really do it
  12. I got this photo last night with the sun shining through my Fusion 29 and you can see all the diagonal supports in the wing, where they are and as they get smaller. Larger pic on my flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/surfervince
  13. I have updated the fitting instructions with only minimal changes, mostly clearer layout. http://www.custom-air.co.uk/Custom_Air_Sports/WTS.html SW you should get your lines tomorrow or Saturday.

    UK PPG Fly in.

I'll be there. Looking to be pretty good. Flat country and you can see for miles, a few waterways about, good calm flying.
  15. I fly my Fusion 29 with speedbar. Trims alone the Fusion is a lot Faster than my Re-action. I will be putting the Re-Action up for sale once it has been through Aerofix tests, so a cheap wing on its way. Reading the Apco Thrust stats the trimmers don't have such a large speed range and rely on the speedbar as in previous posts. It seems only paramania put a lot of it on the trimmers which is nice for cruising, oh and the dude Synth. On my reaction it was trims all the way out most of the time, on the fusion I sometimes fly only half out (feels equivelent to all out on the reaction) for pottering about and the rest when I want to go A to B. Sorry I know im another FUSION fusion fusion in your face fusion...... but I have really started to appreciate its qualities and I loved my reaction, it had a nice flying feel about it, but somehow feels dated and trucky now, if that makes any sense. If you were looking secondhand I would say yes to the reaction a lovely wing. Revolutions come up secondhand also. If new im sure you know what I would be saying. Business is ticking over, bit slow on the motors, price went up as economy came down so it was to be expected. All is good.
  16. Certainly can. Send me an address and paypal I will rush some to you. Just the one set?
  17. Why a GT and not a Revolution or Fusion or Re-Action. It sounds like a big step from paraglider to Action GT. Need to fly before you buy. Hows the cruiser?
  18. I hear all about the Fusion and how it fly's from owners like myself who enjoy it. I wasn't an instant fan and had to grow into it. I am interested in how the long term owners of the Nucleon are getting on. I went from a Dudek Sythesis to Re-Action to a Paramania Fusion. My natural step would have been to the Nucleon or Plasma. So I got to wondering how the Nucleon owners are finding their new toy rather than hearing from one of test flights. What experiences have you had. Economy, handling, takeoff, landing, reflex, thermals, speed, rough air, tuck resistance, speed range with the trims. Its not a test I shall be asking the APCO pilots the same thing. I rave about my Fusion with out real insight to some other wings out there.
  19. checkout some of my youtube vids, http://www.youtube.com/user/surfervince Fusion and Re-action both with low level flying touching the grass rtimming the field, trims out and trims in, you can tell just by the ground speed. On a first wingover of the Fusion its reaction speed took me be surprise moving over very quickly from what I was used to. Now I like it you can also see its ground speed is higher.
  20. I often flew the Re-Action trims out low and using full brakes, I still fly the Fusion in reflex using full brakes but at half trims. To fly low turn and burn you can pull the trimmers in and you have a paraglider just as you are used to. Then to go up and fly along to your next play spot in full fast reflex. If you are used to active flying then it takes some nerve to blast along full speed in bumpy air with your hands off. Mike Campbell-Jones is British and the father of true reflex so when we buy paramanaia reflex we are buying British which can be an incentive over here. The USA will catch on and there are already a couple of reflex wings on offer over there (speed demon, apco thrust, action GT) all have reviews on http://footflyer.com/Equipment/Wings/Wings.htm I have a list of wing manufacturers on http://www.ppgnews.com under the manufacturers link, I put 'PMR' (paramotor reflex) next to the companys I know do reflex wings and have to keep going back and adding PMR to others as they introduce a reflex wing in there line up. Paragliders flying in lift without a motor are going to prefer a dedicated wing to get the most out of what lift they have, flying a paraglider with a motor has dropped the glide ratio to about 6 to1 so not ideal, We have the option of dedicated motor wings which can be reflex. I fly the Fusion which ups the game with even more paraglider performance and 100% reflex an evolution in design expanding the limits in all directions.
  21. Im not finding the landing super slow or anything so I guess its much the same smaller wing has more stored energy to bleed off. I am hoping to try all the sizes at the end of august and will know for sure. Paramania Day up my way east anglia with the 'Fly-In For Fun Summer event' http://www.paramotornews.com I will report back with my findings. Economy was an aim of mine so I can cover greater distances, I would be interested to know how much difference there is with a smaller wing.
  22. Here's my stats if its worth a comment. I am all up weight of 115kg + 10kg more for fuel. I am flying the Fusion 29. Coming from the Re-Action 29. I am getting more speed and more economy from the Fusion. I have not flown the smaller sizes so I have no direct comparison. Handling for me feels good across the trim range difficult to say if its more or less dynamic it varies greatly depending on the trim. But it does feel different
  23. I moved to Reflex for the speed and the safety. It really opens up the number of possible flying days in a year. Being able to take off and fly with a 10-15 mph ground head wind which is also causing some rotor. The reflex handles the rotor and pushed me forward through the air using trimmers alone. For more speed push the speedbar and weyhey making ground but using fuel. Trims out is now quite economical but speed bar is still thirsty work. I started out on an Edel Saber, very floaty very slow, moved through some other paragliders, FireBird Matrix didm't like launching off a flat field, FreeX moon, 50kmh with speed bar WOW ... but in reality I was waiting till the wind was 5mph or less to be able to go forwards at height. Dudek Synthesis was my first Reflex wing and wow it was all now so easy launching was a treat I would just set the trimmers according to the wind stength, the more wind at launch the more trims I let out making the wing rise sooo easy. I still do this today. 2 reasons by letting the trims out I get a bit of reflex when its windy and for rotor again. Moved upto the Re-action which has great dynamic handling and huge fun to fly. Now on a fusion, which is faster on trims than any previous wing and more economical. With speedbar I clocked a downwind GPS speed of 50mph just last weekend. Max I have had is 55mph Im sure others would get more. I would recommend the Revolution or Synthesis for a first or only reflex wing. Good fast reflex wings allow you to fly a large wing at speed. Offering slow landings, short take offs, good economy, high top speed, dynamic handling. safety. stability. What does a paraglider offer the paramotor pilot that a reflex does not? The reason I think the UK fly more reflex wings than the USA is we are closer together on this tiny island a fairly small community of pilots and it only takes one to say hey try this and if its good which they are, word gets around Very fast. Myths are dispelled quickly. + With our changing weather we are desperate to expand our flying options. I do sell reflex wings but I was already flying them before all that nonsense.
  24. I got shorter TST lines to eliminate the amount of line flapping about for launching and during flight (As I pull in 40cm of WTS I get 40cm of stabilo flapping, thought it safer to be shorter, and for when on the speed bar the prop cage is closer to the risers due to pushing out in front of the wing) I also got thicker line, the WTS line takes more strain than the stabilo line. Even at 40cm it is still nearly twice that of my Re-Action but a lot less than the 120cm supplied. Yes it is dearer but I hope better. I may go longer next time. 50 or 60cm but 40 felt about the safe limit to be pulling the tips in. What is the limit? Phil_B, yes it would be clearer, I was playing with a new idea of laying out instructions, I may lay it out to fit into paged pdf file. I think some of the description needs to be adjusted and I could easily loose loads of pictures and get the point across. less is better or more is better? I went for more.
