alan_k
Hi Neilzy, Always best to have a resistor plug fitted to cut down on ignition interference. Try to have the radios mounted so that the antenna is not near the frame or your body, as this absorbs the RF and reduces signal. Any clear channel will be just as good on 2m as any other. Keep within a couple of MHz of amateur band 144 to 146MHz to stay within the best performance of the antenna. Cheers, Alan
poz
Hi Alan. I'm getting ignition interfernece on my video recordings. Would fitting a resistor plug help with this? Cheers Dan

poz
Ah just checked my plug and I suspect I already have a resistor plug fitted - NGK BR10ES. Bummer
Guest
Is it Static interference? (white dots) Or distortion from vibration? (a wave type effect down the screen) A camera with a wide angle lens and a low frame rate will cause a 'wave' type image distortion during playback. A soft mounting to take out the high frequency vibration may help. I have heard of this happening a few times but never had it myself. Good luck! SW Sorry Simon, I should have said, it's not the picture that I'm getting interference with, it's the sound. It's not a huge issue because most good video footage gets a soundtrack but I just thought as the subject of interference was being discussed I'd bring it up. morgy
Could it be that the plug cap is slightly loose this will cause interference
cobra
spark errosion from the plug nipple to cap will cause lots of noise, you can tell this is happening by a black powder and a dull nipple when you pull the cap off. change out both as pennies to buy then you are sorted
