  3. Hi all ,just gone from gopro standard def to gopro hd hero 2(incredible quality !),did my first bit of flying filming today and easily downloaded the whole 30 mins to my pc,but then went to edit it on windows movie maker as I have always done and it was having none of it ! looking into it I need to convert the mp4 files to make it work with windows or is it easier just to upgrade to something better like imovie or cyberlink powerdirector..these cost money are there any good free ones or is cycberliink so good that its well worth the money ? thanks in advance guys ...mark
  4. Most of my landings are nice and gentle ,ive done 75 flights now ,worst ive ever done, a few times, is come in a bit fast into nil wind and ended up slipping on wet grass and sliding on my bum !!
  5. Done it !! the drinks are on me .. it was exactly what neilzy and enzo said ,what had happened was when I took the cylinder off the piston the piston ring then springs out slightly and must have spun arround the piston somewhat ,I hadnt realised that there is a tiny locating pin in the groove you cant see it but I was able to feel its location with a needle ,I then marked its location spun the ring round until the slot was directly over the locating pin ,then with a good coating of oil gently squeezed the ring and the cylinder just slipped down like a glove ,it was so easy ,so just so others dont make the same frustrating mistake I made the ring had spun round and was ON TOP of the locating pin no wonder it wouldnt go in !! ,many thanks again guys hopefully flying this weekend
  6. Yes the ring is seated corretly ,its a spring loaded affair which you have to squeeze with your fingers with all your might to make it flush with the piston then try and get it into the cylinder ,will try again tommorrow when im a bit fresher !!post script thanks alan to do it your way do I have to remove the piston and put it in from the top rather than going up from the bottom ?
  7. Hi all ,just in the process of fitting a new head gasket on my top 80 ,easy job I thought ,take off head fit new gasket then refit ...simples WRONG !!I have just spent 4 hours trying to get the piston back into the head ,you have to squeeze the piston ring with your fingers right down while simutaneously keeping piston and head all straight and level, there is zero percent room for error as the tollerance has to be so tight ,I called andy at skydragons to ask if I was doing anything wrong and he said I was doing it correctly but it is a long hard job,has anybody done this themselves and able to offer me any tips ,or if someone out there can do this in their sleep ill gladly pay you to do it for me if your local to me in dorset, many thanks in advance MARK
  8. If a lipo battery is allowed to discharge below a certain voltage it is extremely hard to get them back to life ,I use lipos with my rc planes and the speed controller does have a voltage regulator which cuts the power when the voltage drops to a certain level ,for example an 11.1v lipo may have 3 cells and you must not let the voltage drop below 3v per cell otherwise when you connect it up to your lcd balance charger it will give you a low voltage warning and wont charge it ,you can sometimes however connect it to a standard battery charger and slowly coax it back to voltage with a low amp charge but this is not really recommended practice because lipos can be a little volatile ..also Like most batteries, the temperature of a Li-Po has an impact on its performance. Consider that batteries rely on a chemical reaction in order to produce a current – therefore a low temperature reduces the speed of this reaction and a reduction in overall pack performance may be observed on a cold day. Allowing a Li-Po pack to freeze is certainly not recommended, as this would almost certainly damage the pack....hope this helps
  9. Def agree with that ,its been windy for ages ,bring on those crisp frosty bright mornings ,they must be just round the corner
  10. Yes same for me ,top 80 with 26m revo,I weigh 75kg ,I very rarely use FULL throttle even on climb out !!

  15. Hi all,the guy I fly with has had his pap ros 125 for 2 years and his motor is always a little smokey ,I asked him what his fuel mix is and he said 40:1 ,I fly a pap top80 which is 50:1 ,and hardly smokes at all ,we both use the same castrol tts oil,on the pap website it does say 40:1 for the ros 125 ,but why ? parajet are all 50:1 ,was just wondering what ratio other pap 125 owners use ..thanks in advance
  16. I think you can download it from the papteam website
  17. I had the same problem on my first flight ,but now I just make sure my leg straps are adjusted just right so I can just slip my hand in ,now when I take off I pretty much slide straight in ,or if not just remember the saying " knees to chin to get in " usually works !
  18. Matt hi, its really wierd I have just fitted new springs to my pap top 80 myself only yesterday, dont try and fit them while the clutch is still on ,as I tried to for the first time and nearly knocked myself out with a pair of pliers !!you will never get them on that way,I called skydragons to check and yes you have to take the clutch off,the way I did it was to remove the clips and slide the clutch plates off,fit springs and then ease it all back over the round drive lining up the pins, but was told that you can also undo the large nut in the middle by holding the clutch plates with an oil filter strap or similar just make sure to protect the friction material ..hope this helps MARK (POOLE DORSET)
  19. Looks awesome ,looking forward to getting a gopro for christmas !!
  20. Hi all ,did my second ever flight yesterday at membury ,awesome ,got home told my mate all about it, as you do, and he said that he had just seen a paramotor over swanage dorset ,would like to get in touch with this person as I live nearby, and in the future ill be looking for sites near to me to fly from thanks in advance
  21. Got up to membury early this morning, pretty cold for october, but lovely sunny calm conditions, did some ground practice with my wing and motor, then raf colin checked all was well and before I new it I was running forward under power and then up into the sky !! Had a great flight about half an hour but best thing was that I managed to get into the seat this time which made the flight so enoyable, cant wait for the next one now ,this paramotoring is addictive ..thanks again colin for your help
  22. Hi seymore ! ,im a newbie pilot just done my first flight ,but like yourself I went for a kitesurf today out from sandbanks poole, windy again tommorrow so looks like ill be kiteing again ...life is hard
  23. Well I have just got back home from the most exhilerating day of my life !,after many months I finaly did my first flight today up at membury,we had a perfect weather window up there just a nice light breeze. Did some ground handling drills to warm up then motor on my back ground handling ,then colin gave me the flight plan of what I was going to do.....gulp the penny has now dropped that im about to go for it ! Did a nice reverse launch turned into wind then colin shouts down the comms full power !!,before I new it I was leaving the ground and climbing rapidly ,nothing kind of prepares you for the sensory overload that im experiencing now, after a while you start to calm down and think a bit more about what you are doing ,the feeling of exhileration is beyond belief ,I have done many extreme sports in my life ...this one is just the best !,unfortunately I did not manage to get into the harness seat (a common problem with first timers ) so I was in quite a bit of discomfort so I did just one circuit and colin brought me in for a lovely touch down ,cant wait to get back up in the air now ...huge thanks to colin ,simon pete and raf colin for some brilliant instruction, cant praise these guys enough if you are thinking about taking up paramotoring just do it its amazing
