  1. Paul Bailey has said the new hornet paramotor will be around the same price as a V5.
  2. my grandfarther worked under eric brown as part of the aerodynamics flight, during WW2.
  3. Hi James, I am in potters bar and used to fly from a field in enfield, the best place to go for training is alex at foot flight paramotors, he is based in rayne near Braintree, excellent instructor and great bloke.

  5. and just to prove how good the Nuc is for cruising, I had an hours flight this evening, flew with a friend who has a reaction 29, I have a Nuc 29, he was on full fast trim and had trouble keeping with me when I stayed on take off trim, 2 out on the trimmers, we fly at about the same weight, I used 2.5 litres of fuel through a polini 110 Loving it!
  6. No Simon, he is just a fecking awesome pilot who knows how to get the best out of the kit he is flying, wich when you consider he is still winning on a Nuc, you realise just how good this older reflex design really is.
  7. bin it and fit a walbro, I did and the motor never missed a beat after that.
  8. Michel carnet won multipul world championships on a Nucleon.
  9. There are plenty of thor 200s running absolutey fine , but you dont here about them, its just the owners who have had problems that shout about it
  10. one of our number, Stu bought a moster powered air conception from vince recently and I have to say after looking over it I was mitely impressed.
  11. depends what you want it for synth: forget its really a beginners wing. Fusion: good wing but not too stable in the rough stuff. GTX: good wing but like the GTR they are really built to go round corners, fast, wich means they suffer the unexpected oscillations wich occur on the GTR also. Nucleon: best all round intermediate wing out there, does everything the others do but excels in all other areas too, most stable of the bunch, best XC wing of the above too, great glide rate and as stable as a wing can get. if you have not guessed already I fly a Nuc, I am on my second, only wing I would buy right now is the WRC version of the Nuc. but don't take my word for it, ask Michel carnet, he won multiple world championships on one. go out and fly the above wings and see wich you feel most comfortable on.
  12. Thanks for the words of encouragement. I find I need to write it immediately after the event before the ever decreasing brain cells, decrease anymore! Training visits will be even less frequent now, being limited to weekends, now that I have exhausted holiday days. That inconvenience that is Work! Neat little gadget, quick trawl of ebay, i think, to find the necessary bits. if your tank is not already marked you may want to do so, I emptied mine and marked it up using a marker pen as I put in the fuel, got a one litre measuring jug, put one litre in and marked a line in red, then put marks at two litres, five litres and ten litres in black, works well in flight easy to read and not much to go wrong.
  13. love your blog Patrick, always a joy to read, as for the fuel bit I have one of these mirrors on a retractable keychain, very easy to use, I have it in the left pocket of my harness as that's my free hand, throttle in right, takes seconds to whip it out and take a look, no need for fancy fuel gauges. http://inventions.aerocorsair.com/id45.htm
  14. I was joking when I wrote that lol I know I was just giving him another poke!
  15. was it your old motor Clive, the one you said you sold as it was shagged and on its way out, needed a rebore or something, you said you were goner find some mug to by it before it went bang. is it that one Clive
  16. what was the wind speed, were you definitely set up correctly? IE face straight into the wind, have you checked the wing with a visual inspection, no knots in lines, lines all in the correct position etc? was the wind backing and veering? were you close to anything that could cause mechanical rotor? was it thermic?
  17. Tom what motor is it, is the prop correctly matched for the motor, I find it quite amazing that you need that much throttle all the time, you climb rate must be painfully slow.
  18. Revo 1 is a bot old now, my Nuc is not considered cutting edge either but I still only have to fly with half throttle on full trim, not screaming the motor in any way,did you mean to say with the trimmers in take off position you are having to give it lots of throttle for level flight?
  19. come on, you got to give the guy some credit, at least he is entertaining
