  1. worry about that stuff later mate, just get the basic kit for now.
  2. when I bought them the latter type arms were only available for the ross motor, wich turns the opposite direction, therefore I fitted them upside down so the offset was correct, flew straight and true
  3. that's fine mate, just give me a shout
  4. I would be happy to test fly it, you can have the prop like I said its no good to me and has just sat here in my office for years. the engine mounts are easy to change, I did mine, not that there was anything wrong with them, but you know what its like when you got a new toy
  5. as long as the carb is set right then the fuel consumption is pretty good, they are as reliable as it gets, mine never let me down, infact I think its proberly the most reliable motor I have owned, one piece double hoop cage means they are very strong, I still got a prop wich I had balanced and kept as a spare, sitting here in my office, you can have that if you buy the motor as its no good to me. anything else you need to now just ask.
  6. http://www.paramotorclub.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2791 just proved my point exactly
  7. wing is in Essex. but if you bought both I could send them up on the same pallet Your idea's get even better! how much are we talking for courier.. roughly ? he has sent stuff up north for me in the past and its normally around £50 - £60 quid depending on the weight.
  8. £900 for the motor £250 for the wing, with delivery you could have a full set up for around £1200
  9. wing is in Essex. but if you bought both I could send them up on the same pallet
  10. I like that idea, however it is a 9 hour round trip.. not sure if i could blag that much! if i could fly already, i would catch the train and fly it back! haha I have a friend who runs a haulage company and could proberly get it delivered on a pallet at a reasonable price. colin is it a one piece frame or sectional? heres a pic of the eagle genie
  11. yet another story put out by someone who stand to make some money out of it, are engine mount failures really that big a problem in our sport? REALLY?
  12. sounds just like my old motor Colin, remember my little pap, loved that little chap, served me well when I was training, Jamie bought it off me.
  13. I like the sound of that! although im worried if i buy a separate wing, whether he would still do the deal on the motor and training! unless i can pick up a motor for £900 and do the proper training with Chilly or UKPPG? any thoughts!? Also, how do i contact this fella? Cheers! PS: still have everything you gave me 3 years ago and the flying suit fits me great! thanks again No worries mate, if you are interested in the wing let me know, its a guy I work with so see him most days, he was flying it up until recently when he bought a reaction.
  14. Micheal a friend of mine has a eagle genie wing for sale, it's an early semi reflex design by mike Campbell jones , fast enough to handle more lively conditions and slow and stable enough for a beginner to gain confidence on It's in great nick and he only wants £250 for it It's a proper motor wing and a far better option than the one you have been offered
  15. didn't notice a big orange jet while you were there did you
  16. This may have been blown up a bit as the operators of southend airport are looking to reinstate the old airspace it had years ago, this will add to their argument. http://www.southendairport.com/news/lat ... -airspace/
  17. possibly, then again, if you compare the newspaper article to the actual report, its hard to see where the journo gets it right.
  18. Right I have just worked it out on memory map and the incident took place 11.1 miles from the airport the jet was heading towards, ceiling height in that area is 3500 ft, as far as I can see the paramotor pilot has done nothing wrong, I think most people who fly paramotors at some point have come within 11 miles of an airfield/airport, proberly without thinking it could be a problem.
  19. Morgy I said why not when, why don't you count the fuel?
  20. never understood why people say this? why would you not include the weight of fuel in your all up weight? its weight the wing will be carrying, its not like you are going to be leaving it behind.
  21. your new hobbie is only a precursor to the one you will take up once you start attending fly ins, wich is called "standing in a field talking bollocks while waiting for it to be flyable"
