  1. "One of the first things Bellamy purchased with the wealth the band generated was a fully functioning jet pack, like, for actual flying? “It’s called a Paramotor; you attach it to your back and zoom through the air,” he said. “I’ve nearly got my licence now. You can go up to ten thousand feet if you’ve got enough oxygen.” Quote from http://www.clashmusic.com/feature/12-th ... about-muse
  2. The ET's now making QR codes Click link to see images... https://goo.gl/vaPcgT
  3. SQL - structured query language, it's a database programming language that talks to the database. I suspect it's to do with some strange characters that are being posted to the database forum from the tablet. @ferryair - What exactly is the error message, does it happen every time you post and what device are you using?
  4. Not to say you are having the same issues as I was, just suggesting might help you to see your attempts from another angle
  5. Did you see the other 3 videos, the wing wasn't coming up straight for me either. I actually found I was going around in circles.
  6. Here's the 4 videos that helped me:- https://goo.gl/TtULrF
  7. Patrick, has anyone videoed you attempting the forward launch, it helped me loads a year ago when I failed 4 attempts, as soon as I watched each one back and analysed thoroughly I could tell I was about 4 seconds too late in applying power, so that next time I tried bringing up the power earlier I was successful.
  8. Cheers Patrick, that's handy that the demo is centred around our area, that would explain why the screen shot further up looked strange! That's a unique feature that you can plug in various variables. Would be good to plan ahead for different wind speeds, so that's a shame it's limited to live wind. I will set up an account and take a look. Cheers Andy
  9. @Simon - Thanks for the discount code offer, I will let you know if I decide on anything.
  10. What software is that your using Patrick?
  11. Lol, I wasn't intending to do them all in one go Patrick! But sounds like a great competition! Also would be good to fly over the crop circles when they start appearing, so that's another one on my list
  12. Nice one Pat! Shame about the go pro. Well done!
  13. Hi Pat What is the link for that forecast? I use xcweather and it's showing the opposite, that the later part of the day will be better. But it's only Wednesday so subject to change.
  14. It took me ages to get the forward launch technique, I cracked it after I had someone film the failed attempts on video, this made me realise I was hesitating far too long before bringing on the power! So if its totally nil wind the key is to build up the power as you are pulling up the wing, which sounds like you are now doing! Tips for landing which I found helped me land on my feet:- Don't flare too early! To prevent this I look to the horizon (never down at your feet!), then put one foot forward and the other foot back waiting to feel the ground with the back foot (the back foot should be hanging slightly lower than the front foot assuming you are hanging out of the seat!). As soon as you feel the slightest touch of the ground with the back foot it's a signal to flare and your already in the right position to run off the landing on your front foot. My landings are still not perfect, I come in fast on trims out to +2 reflex and my wing usually over flys me slightly and sometimes crashes down in front of me (not very elegant or good for the wing), something I'm trying to improve on! Also, I'm trying to crack the spot landings, I lay a blanket down in the middle of the field and I haven't managed to land on it yet, but inching closer each time! Great training blog! Andy
  15. Hi Pat Sounds like your at the same stage I was a year ago and reminds me of my first longest flight to the whitehorse 10 months ago, I failed 12 launches on that flight and all my previous flights I was landing on my arse 50% of the time and I really struggled with my forward launches! http://vimeo.com/53802644 This year I have really improved and done many XC flights, cracked the forward launch and now landing on my feet every time! At the end of last year to beginning of this year, I had about 3 months break from flying because of the weather, but you don't forget, so stay focussed and you will crack it! Good Luck! Andy
  16. He was lucky, good reminder why it's unsafe to fly over water!
  17. Hi Some feedback around the profile photo... When trying to add a photo from my iphone photos, it errors as the picture is not less than 9kb. It would be good if you could allow any size photo to be added that then gets compressed automatically by the app. Cheers Andy
  18. Hi Simon I'm reporting an issue with posts missing YouTube videos on the iPhone app. E.g Today's post under Paramotors there is a topic "Homemade Jetpack Paramotor.." Video available on web forum but not on the iPhone app?
