  1. Hi Richard, It's good to have you onboard. I've no doubt that you will enjoy flying with our respective affilliated club members in the near future and of course the epic flight in July/August. Maybe see you at the Xmas do. Cheers Terry
  2. Hi Mac, Like Dan said, 'Touching Cloudbase is a good book to read. I have been using it for around a couple of years now as a reminder/reference aid. I would also recommend 'Paramotoring from the ground up'. Both these books will give you a good intro.into Paragliding and Paramotoring. Hope this helps and welcome to a great sport. Terry
  3. Hi Norman, I would like to give a hand in the flight planning process. I will forum e-mail you. Cheers Terry.
  4. Thanks for taking the time to reply Guys. I'll think I'll end up keeping the premix for a few more weeks and maybe, if the weather improves within that time, I will be able to use it and have a December flight around the Lambourn Downs.
  5. Hi All I'm a Newbie and need a bit of advice please. I have had pre-mixed fuel for my Parajet stored in a 10 litre metal jerry can for nearly 2 weeks now.I haven't been able to use it, due to the crap weather we've been experiencing. At what stage,if at all, does this fuel become 'Old Fuel' and unsuitable to use in my motor? Cheers Terry
  6. Hi Simon I know we can't guarantee the weather at any given time. But, usually arranging time off work and booking holidays and confirming these dates can be guaranteed. So what months would you suggest? I phoned the Met office at 1630 hrs today and spoke to them on your behalf, they suggested that late August and September would be a good time. Cheers Terry
  7. Hi Simon, I know that you mentioned late summer 2008 for this epic flight. I think now is the the time to start fixing the actual months/dates, as there will be lots of people out there, thinking of getting involved, that need to arrange their 2008 family and work commitments accordingly. Cheers Terry ps; What is the start point. Lands End or John O'Groats?

  11. Hi Steve, At last I've uploaded 5 Photo's of your first landing and congratulations hand shakes at the Lambourn Takeoff/Landing field to my forum album. I hope all's going well with you flying since. Fly Safe Terry
  12. Hi Simon, As spoken earlier... From the Forum Index then to Regional Clubs we have the Oxford Branch displayed, but still no Somerset Branch. What has Norman done with it?? Cheers Terry
  13. Hi All, Hi All I had a great flying day with Simon and Colin today although we had our different flight plans. I had my first X Country out and return, (8 miles).and enjoyed every minute of it.Tremendous views over the Lambourn Downs. What a day!! Colin unfortunately had battery problems and didn't take off today. I hope Simon tells us a little story about his flight. Fly Safe Terry
  14. Hi Col, I didn't know that you were into covert video recording, but cheers anyway. I suppose I've got to get a wing next See Ya Soon Terry
  15. Hi Simon,Colin, Rob & Tony, Thanks for your company today and YES!! I did enjoy my flying today, even though it was .....ing cold. I'm looking forward to the Xmas raffle Simon and hopefully winning one of your heated jackets See Ya Soon Terry
  16. Hi Simon, I hope to see you tomorrow. The conditions look ok at the moment.I will contact you after a weather check in the morning. Cheers Terry
  17. Hi Norman, Thanks for your prompt and reassuring reply. This means I can put the Torque Wrench and Club Hammer away for now:P Regards Terry
  18. Hi Norman Being a person that doesn't know too much about torque settings and due to get my Parajet soon. I find your comments a little disconcerting, that from a product mannual suggesting 92ft.lbs (Error in Mannual) then to 'Finger Tight' verbally suggested by Parajet. Surely a bit more pressure than finger tight is needed to keep the prop. on during flight. Are you aware if any other ammended torque pressure been recommended. Cheers Terry
  19. Cheers for the chart Norman, I've printed it out, as it will be very useful to me. Terry
  20. Cheers For your comments Si. I better get mixing the 2-Stroke!! I'll be down sometime Sat. morning to collect. Unfortunately the wind strength looks a little too strong for the next few days. But forecasts look ok at the moment for Mon. See ya soon Terry
  21. Simon. What fuel octane do Parajet recommend. Ordinary Unleaded-95 RON or Super Unleaded-98 RON
  22. Hi Everyone, The time now is 0930hrs and Simon has just rang and asked me to post the the following message..... He is at the usual Takeoff/Landing field, the wind is a steady 5mph and the conditions are "Peachy Perfect for flying". Colin and others are already on their way to join him. So don,t just sit there in front of your computer, wondering if it flyable or not. It is!! See ya all later, I,m on my way NOW. Terry
  23. Hi Simon, It was good to see you, Rob and Colin in the field this morning and then have a moan about the weather, in the new cosy club/shop area in the barn. I look forward to seeing and hopefully flying with you all tomorrow. Cheers Terry
  24. Hi Simon, I have arranged with Rob to be at the field tomorrow Btw 0800-0900hrs. Will you be flying? I will bring both wings, as it may be flyable at Milk Hill or Rybury if the wind picks up too much for Paramotoring. I could even try the Manta if you still have it.
