  1. I went up to Norfolk at the weekend to take the family to Holkham beach before we start harvesting. Happened to have packed the wing and harness in the truck. What an awesome place to ground handle! Unfortunately no motors are allowed but a huge, wide, flat, clean and beautiful place with virtually no one around. If you live in Norfolk or fancy a short break to appeal to the whole family, it is there! (now if Norman is on line or anyone else who knows...how do I add a photo onto this????)
  2. Hi Brian Good to see you have put finger to the keyboard and I would like to be one of the first to welcome you to the club. Its STILL raining here and generally dreary but it can not stay like this for ever! Hope the sun is shinning down on that shed of yours!
  3. Please do not complain - I have been watching the rain fall steadily for days now AND this is supposed to be our summer!! Enjoyed looking at your videos and pictures. Great to see you all having so much fun................in the sun!
  4. Really sorry we missed the camp fire and beers. Wish I cud say no worries about the field Mike but we are not responsible for that one - only the venison, strawbs and cream............er everyone still feeling fine??? Such as shame that wind would not drop but I was ever so slghtly pleased Francis kind offer of a tandem flight early sunday morning was postponed - don't think you've got away with it though mate, especially now I have hay bags with your name on them!! Great to put so many faces to the names and Mark why is my bl**dy computor still so bl**dy slow????
  5. That would be awfully nice to spend some air time with you my friend..............wud b gr8 ma8 flyin wid u 'sted of thez old fartz!!!!
  6. Hi Bigbell, Welcome to the forum. It is a VERY FRIENDLY club to be part of. Plenty of great people here. I agree 'txt spk' is for the mobile but dont get the wrong impression from the lads! Why not try and come down to the fly in party this weekend and meet a few? All different ages, opinons and lifestyles which makes up such a good, interesting and fun club.
  7. On Saturday I ran a race with 3500 other women to raise money for Cancer Research. Running beside me was Lizzie, who at 21 years old has been fighting skin cancer for the past 3 years. Together we crossed the finish holding hands and triumphant in our achievement in raising over £2000 between us. A huge thanks goes out to all those who so kindly and generously sponsored me for this race on line via a paramotor club link. You are all stars and to be there to hear peoples stories and read their messages to lost loved ones was quite overwhelming. (We felt even more chuffed with ourselves because we were at a serious party the night before with a lot of friends who were wishing us well and had only 2 hours sleep. So armed with very dark sunglasses, water and brains the size, shape and texture of walnuts we were true survivors!!) THANK YOU
  8. Just out of interest how many are likely to want to camp overnight on saturday? The field is within the village with houses on both sides. The live band sounds great and I am up for it but don't know if that field is the best venue - can we party at the flying site?
  9. Fab video.......but can I loose the rope in the next one PLEASE?????!!!
  10. I might be passing through as well - seems as good a time as any to find out if the head is still connected to the shoulders!!! - You about Simon????
  11. Thank you to Simon for doing this link and to you fantastic people for sponsoring me! Its a brilliant cause and every penny raised goes straight into much needed research. Every penny means any penny as by sponsoring me even £1 helps the final target. It has been the trials run by Cancer Research that has kept Lizzie going. Will run with pride and will enjoy a large gin and tonic very shortly afterwards!!
  12. Hilarious video, I had a good giggle!! Francis has a point on the helmets though - 1st or 2nd time ground handling I got dragged straight into what I am sure was the only sarcen stone in the field and broke my tooth - its easy to be complacent, I often felt a bit daft in the middle of the field with my glowing white crash hat on. My children bought me a latex viking cover complete with skull and horns.......now I don't feel silly at all!!!
  13. I am up for it but afraid I might not be as light as Weesplat - how long are you up in the air on a tandem flight before you are ill did you say? That might lighten the load!!!!
  14. Sorry, been away from the internet for a while and just got back on the forum. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!! You were all absolute stars to organise that rather special flight and I am extremely grateful to you. Francis, she had a really fantastic experience paramotoring which has been logged on facebook and photographs sent all over the world to family and friends. It was very kind of you all to give up your time, energy and fuel - I really appreciate it and she did too. Hey Norman, that forest of pink wings over the downs?? Watch this space!!!!
  15. I would like to take this opportunity to post a belated thank you to Francis, Simon and Colin. What stars they all are!!! Special thanks go to Francis for so kindly bringing his tandem paramotor up here for a first time flight for an amazing person. Really grateful to Simon for arranging it all and to Colin for helping set up. It was an awesome flight by all accounts and we had lucky break in the weather - perhaps I ought to thank a higher authority too???! Anyway, before I go into a ramble about what nice people they are etc, etc, I would like to add that its the people who make the club and the machines who bring us all together. To be in a position to bring some real joy into someones life whos got a raw deal, is a very special place to be, so THANK YOU lads!
  16. Congratulations Mr and Mrs Dan - now the torture of no sleep starts - there is great times ahead or I wouldn't have had two......mind you I have threatened Mr Pegasus with two bricks since then Good luck and fab news!
  17. Hang on to the idea mate - with a professional photographer on board and the Tip 2 Tip coming up, add in all the interest after the showing of Gilo and Bears incredible achievement- you just never know....
  18. Amazing feat for both of you. My heart went out to Gilo when he had to come back and not fly over with Bear - after going through so much to get so far it must have been gutting. Balls of steel? Would have been balls for earings if those boys had got it wrong!! Well done. Awesome. Loved it!!!
  19. Hey Mark - you are obviously totally nuts! Great to have you on board. I know at one point Simon W was hoping to do a photo shoot involving a hot air balloon. It was only a thought at the time but give him a shout.....
  20. Bloody hell SLiM you are on the ball!!
  21. Awesome picture Col. One for the fundraising calendar.............................????
  22. Hey Togsie Only just read your blogg and am delighted you are up and away. Well done mate!!
