  1. Agree totally with you there. Anyone shooting with a shootgun certificate should have at least 3rd party insurance with someone like the NGO or BASC. Those being lent guns by people who hold them on their certificates, must be supervised by someone in pocession of a certificate. These individuals should take out their own separate insurance. It would be a good idea to have a chat to BASC to advise on an overall insurance for the day. I also have a electronic 50 bird flush mounted on a trailer which is great fun - can we work out a donationto Cancer Research? A date we could all agree on would be good. Weather wise on the day - we can always pospone it. I can not host it until after the 1st of February and it has to also be before we start harvest in July! Barby wise, we have 1 gass one, depending on numbers we probably only need another one of those. Think you have hit on a great social there Ben!
  2. I have 1 manual trap as well. Its a fab site for rabbit, springing teal, crossing pigeon etc. Have a mate who supplies electric traps if I ask, especially if a charity is involved. Could do a fly in from that site too as well as a barby if thats an idea. Obivously as a paramotor makes a rather unsporting shot, flying would have to be before/ after the clays!!!
  3. Well I have an ideal site where we have run shooting events from before. Its the combes where the Tip2Tip boys landed on the Lambourn stop. I will happily host for free. If interested give me a shout.
  4. Sounds like hard work that someones gotta do - dont let those bubbles carry you away!!! Can not wait to see the photos Simon - what a fab, eccentric, adventure
  5. There is quite an impressive list of sponsors for this expedition including Ethanol Ventures, Future Capital Partners and C. Hoare & Co ( the bank) to name but a few. They are raising money for a charity called Alive and Kicking which makes leather footballs, volleyballs and netballs in disadvantaged areas of Africa. The charity create employment and all the balls carry a HIV/AIDS, malaria or TB message. They also come with preventive health materials so that teachers and coaches can use sport to tell youngsters about health risks. The balls are repairable, affordable and bring fun into the lives of poor children in communities across Africa. Aside from that worthwhile cause I believe they are out to simply have an adventure - boys with a toy!!
  6. Looks like a great deal of fun! How is it classified and if you are running late in that 'orrible stop/start traffic, can you use the hard shoulder for a runway???
  7. It would have to be the flying white nag ofcourse! Having seen that bright pink paramotor set me a thinking....
  8. I apologise if this has already come up, but is it horrendously expensive to have a personal design on your wing and is it unusal to have a one off done?
  9. Hey Pete. How the devil are you? You can not get rid of me that easily! I am supposed to be a write off until March but its not really in my nature and theres too much to do......plus I miss not being part of the intrepid flyers club. I must be the longest ground handler in the history of paramotoring - I have even bought a book on the sport now, its that sad!! The intention is to be up and clocking some air miles this year - I'll be buggered if I am staying at home whilst you lot keep organising all these tip 2 tip trips around the world. Loved your dance in the rain by the way
  10. I bought a ski helmet last year and another on monday for our lads from Lidl. They use them on the slopes, quad biking and mountain boarding. They look great on them, meet all the british safety standards and are a bargin. Did I mention the deals on cheese and parma ham.......?? (You can even take your waitrose reyclable bag in if you are a raving snob)
  11. Hi Pete, Nope - finally stepped off my big green tractor and had a nasty little car crash -NOT MY FAULT I quickly hasten to add- not our year this one but heyho thats how it goes . Looking forward to the party and catching up with everyone. You coming up in the van - want somewhere to park??
  12. I personally like the idea of a long sleeve t-shirt because I think you get more wear out of it and would probably go for a slightly more understated design than the hell has attitude. Not to say I don't see where you are coming from, but hey ho, what I would actually like best is "I got bloody airborne at last!" written in big bright letters all over mine!!!! .......oh and remind me never to let Pete camp near my sheep!!!! (Have a reasonable bet riding on me buzzing around before Xmas, so needs must now as I hear the credit crunch has hit the North Pole too).

I still have some kit here wich I believe belongs to Norman?? Honestly, you boys - and I am always told a woman can't pack by my better half!!!!
  16. Well said Francis! After everything everyones gone through, lets make the pennies add up PLEASE
  17. There you are what did I say?! Thanks Francis!
  18. Hey Mollie Sorry no one has replied to you yet. Simon and the crew as you know are on this Tip 2 Tip flight and I know that if it was business as usual they would have replied. I am of no use whatsoever I am afraid, but I didn't want you to think no one was being helpful or friendly. Which brings me round to welcoming you on to the site and you will get advice soon I am sure.
  19. Bl**dy fantastic boys! Well done!!! ( Message to Mark, the boys here would love a photo of Nessie)..................
  20. Wow what an epic journey in the wettest, windiest summer ever!!! The lads doing well and made of firm stuff. Fantastic to see them all here for a quick pit stop and now roaring north on another leg. Amazing paramotor pilot feat indeed to go down in history, (we want to buy a DVD by the way lads so we can see the grins on your faces at John O Groats), and what a fantastic ground crew, spearheaded by Weesplat Col, keeping the whole show on the road and up in the air. FAB JOB BOYS. Keep infront of that rain and keep those spirits sky high. So many people are behind you all, families, friends, members and their friends, I know, all glued to that tracking and wishing you the very best.
  21. Come on boys! Patti has the beers on ice, I have the food in the oven and everyone is desparate to see you!! Get that wind behind you.............
  22. Er....hi lads, glad to see you are in the air...um...slight problem this end... landing and camping field had a fertilizer input today, human sewage on the right and chicken muck on the the left....ooops At least the sewage is from windsor - so no smell there!!! You can land there or on the combes if the winds in the right direction. Camp on the combes - I can take the motors there on a small flat bed if you land in the stubble (last years butterfly crop circle)(thanks Patti!) and take them back to the stubble for take off if needed. There are cows grazing on the combes but if someone from the ground crew could let me know in advance when you are nearly here I will make sure they are out of the way. Whichever you choose, I am afraid it is all fairly sh*t!!
  23. WELL DONE LADS!! Glad you got on the way and good luck to you all - in the air and below! Landing site for Lambourn is the field called Short Hedge. Simon, it is cut and already worked over so you will see the stubble mixed with the soil. Sorry it is not a soft wheat field but an ichy barley! It is best reached down the track marked "private" after the ridgeway carpark, on the right, as you drive to lambourn. The metal gate will be open at the top of the track. "Red Barn" on the OS map - I think. Look forward to seeing you all in formation on the way in!!!
  24. That makes sense as the entire area is a nature reserve but you are very lucky to have such a beautiful place on your doorstep. I would be there every day if I could and what was so special was the fact that it was so pristine - the only things we left behind were footprints...............and blood where I sliced my foot on a razor shell!! Tip of the day is wear correct foot wear when ground handling on a beach!
