  1. I have a friend who has just completed his training... When I did my training everyone had reserves.. He said that during his training he saw lots of pilots not flying with a reserve.. making him think its the norm. Out of interest (honest answer needed) How many of you fly with or without a reserve. If you answer is a no... Why!!! Thanks D
  2. Hi Guys Its being a while, A big hello to Pete and Simon (prop the only two guys who know me on this forum) I was living in the UK until march this year. Myself and my missus have packed the bags immigrated over to oz, Sydney to be exact. Its all going sweet over here both of us got great jobs and we have sweet apartment 3 min from the beach. My paramotor is now floating along with the rest of my toys making its way to Australia should be here in about 5 weeks as long as the boat doesn't get hijacked, Frame is being made for me as we speak. Really looking forward to some good flights here in OZ in the next couple of months I should have some videos to upload. The scenery out here is second to none so should make for some good videos. I may be taking a trip over to Fiji with the paramotor with a mate around Sept time. It doesn't look like we will be going anywhere for the foreseeable future. Paramotoring is not that big here, I may bolt on paramotorclub Sydney club into this forum. I got just one question. I am about to order my prop which is going to be a helix prop. My motor is polini thor, Frame will cater for either H30 F 1,25m R-M-07-2 H30 F 1,30m R-M-06-2 I weight about 75kg Wing is medium size !!! What size prop would you get why. Is it more beneficial to have a bigger prop. Thanks guys
  3. Sounds good. Where did he get his frame, prop, Harness etc from.. Thanks
  4. Seller also for got to mention that it was a paraglider harness not a paramotor harness.. I drove 1 hour each way and then was told it was for paragliders.... Nice one ....
  5. Hi mate Any update on your starting problem.. D
  6. Hey all In the near future there is a strong possibility I could be moving to Oz, I plan on shipping over some of my stuff via a shipping company. It takes 10 - 12 weeks. I was talking to my friend who is over in Thailand at the moment. Now has being hanging out with pilot from Spain and his Polish girlfriend who is also a pilot and they told him they bring there paramotors with them on the plane. I could be tempted but then that could leave me with no clothes in Oz. Have any of your good folk every had to transport your paramotors, equipment etc if so how. Thanks
  7. Hi Simon I was just reading your message I thought to myself ''has someone just posted my old message on this forum again'' very strange I had the exact same issue. I had loads of people have a look at it run various tests on it, I even had a numpty head who I meet through this forum totally making a hash of the electrics and then trying to pull a fast one on me. That's another story!!!!! So I contacted Simon (site owner, admin) who then put me on to Pete who has left a reply above. Pete did a great job in rewiring my electric pack and converting my batterys to Ni-cads. I too have a 2006 WJ 200 RR. Pete replaced the main switch on the battery pack and also put a input jack for me to plug in external items such as. Pda, Lights etc. To get my Paramotor working from when it had the exact same problem as yours: Pete swapped my CDI and did a hand start on mine and it fired up...I had a problem which is sort of embarrassment for me as my started motor failed and I ordered a new one. It turned out it was the wrong one It spun the props the wrong way!!!!!! I was a bit annoyed with myself. I am new to this sport and I guess we all make mistakes. I have just ordered another one so should be flying soon. As I said I had every component tested all kill switches tested, I had electrical engineers with 30 years exp look and it and could not find the fault. I going to say its the ignition CDI http://www.parajet.com/shopmag/paramoto ... -unit.html I hope you get the problem solved as I have said numerous times Petes the man. Question... How have you found the Walkerjet. As I said I am new and have very few hour under my belt. I went into this sport as green as they come. I just bought the first paramotor that looked good and worked. I have nearly quit this sport before I even got fully into it with the hassle I have had with the electric pack. BUT.... Fingers crossed with the good work Pete has done (who I am very thankful for him doing the work) I should be all good.. D
  8. [youtubevideo] [/youtubevideo]Looks like fun but a little on unsafe side

  10. Oh thats a real nice xmas gift that some folk will be getting ... There is some really nasty people out there....
  11. Hey all I am just about to get into winter flying and was just wondering what sort of gear do you guys wear when flying in the winter. Also as a matter of interest how many of you out there have more than one paramotor. I may be heading to OZ soon for good and I was hoping to bring over my paramotor. Was thinking of bringing over two as the exchange rate is really crap at the moment. Thanks for your help. D
  12. I would have to agree with the above post, I am still new to paramotoring and did the usual searching the Internet and was unable to find anywhere that had good reviews of paramotor equipment, etc I realise that some people might be biased as they may be involved with the manufactures and will most likely will not want to upset them with some comments on a forum. I am sure there is enough people out there who dont have any involvement that could give the views on equipment they have bought used etc. Personally If I am going to purchase a paramotor again, I will be going for costumer service and reliability of a machine full stop. I have being down to the Parajet factory when i did my training and met some of the guys who work down there, Yes if i had the cash I would probably get one but then again I put one on my back and it nearly pulled me over with the weight of it. Very heavy indeed. I am getting my paramotor back on Monday and cannot wait to be flying again. Bring it on.
  13. Right I got some pictures for you. http://www.flickr.com/photos/42964330@N03/3960071439/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/42964330@N03/3960824146/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/42964330@N03/3960833636/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/42964330@N03/3960062631/ As regards the 40 amp relay its got a load of number and letters on it. Gulfstream1 if you could help me get a replacement it would be great as I said the car dealers drew a blank on my relay.... bignos .. Great another walkerjet rr owner I drop you a call tomorrow if thats ok. Yes I DJ, I work for the BBC world service as a broadcast engineer but i also present a weekly dance show for a national broadcaster in Ireland RTE PULSE. Big thanks to all who have help so far. If i get the bloody thing fixed I hope to join some of you if you guys do meets etc But as i said before i am green horn to the world of paramotoring..
  14. Hi Guys Thanks for your help so far, I am not going to cancel out anything just yet. I tried to get replacement 40 amp relay went down to Halfords (rubbish) and a few other car places No joy... One place thinks its a VW part so I might go down tomorrow. The electric pack can be open and is probably the same as most paramotor with in flight charging. I checked out Parajet and they are selling relays for £20 a pop. I going to work on putting some pictures online so you can have a look. Dara
  15. Hey guys Thanks for your replies. I am just up from working a night last night (weather looks perfect for flying making my very angry indeed I am missing out grrrrrrrr ), I took the electric pack to work last night and took the relay off Its has a part number of PA 56 GF25 As i had the same problem before and the pack was swapped for another one and it worked straight away I am 70% sure its something in the electric pack at fault. But and this is a BIG but I had to replace my electric starter, I did so but before I got a new one I accidentally plugged in the speaker connector type thing. There is two inputs on the base of the electric pack and there are done like speaker connector plugs. One is the joystick type thing and one is the stator. Anyways I plugged in the wrong one and the next thing I got the stator cable slowly melting up to the stator. I managed to pull the plug out before it reached all the way up to the stator. Green horn alert yes but There is no way of telling which is which. So after realising what i did, I freaked out and called Paul Deckin, I left it for a while and the went down to Paul's as he has the tool that you need to remove the magneto, So I set about replacing the cable from the stator as the blue cable inside had melted all the plastic about 3/4 the way up. Did this and later Paul tested the stator and said it was fine!!! There is a little voice telling me that the problem lies with the stator but Paul also said that the even if the stator failed the paramotor should fire up. My problem is there is no spark. As i said we have tested all the cables kill switches etc so it not a break in the circut.. Q.. How do i bypass the regulator. Q2 I live in north London do any of you good folk know any one who is a dab handy at electrics on paramotors. Even thought I am a broadcast engineer I am still on the learning side with the 2 strokes and the electrics. I am willing to drive, I dont want to send the pack of to Walkerjet as I want to get to the root of the problem. Anyways guys if you can help in any way it would be great, Thanks Dara
  16. Any help at all would be great!!! looking forward in getting involved in the sport. Dara
  17. Hello to all This is my first message on this site, I stumbled across this site and its turned out to be a great source on information. I am very new to the world of Paramotoring, I did my training with Skyschool about 2 months ago. All is going well until I have had a electrical problem with my Walkerjet rr. I live in London and have a few hours under my belt all was going good until my engine stopped running. I am hoping some of you good people could either help me or give me some information on how to fix this problem. The problem is the I cannot get the engine to start. It turns over but no probs but no spark from the ht cap which tell me there is a problem with electric pack. I got the very nice guy Paul Deckon who sells Walkerjet in the UK to have a look at it and he checked all the usual The wiring from the stator Spark Plug HT lead and cap Kill switch and wire The coil. All have being tested ok. Now Paul has advised me to send the electric pack off to Walkerjet to get it checked out. I could do this but i could be waiting months for the returns. My field of thought is something in the electric pack has failed 40 amp relay regulator http://www.walkerjet.cz/img_sub/service_el_cz.gif I was going to try and replace the relay first and start from there. Paul thinks it might be the relay. The same thing happened before and we switched the electric pack and it worked straight away. Have any of you out there had any experience with before. Its really starting piss me off now. I have being without my paramotor for over 5 weeks now. All i can do is watch videos on you tube and think I wish i was up there!! Also is there any pilots who fly around north London. Thanks D
